The conversation brings together recent rounds, maintenance updates, and the crew’s push to give golfers a stronger voice through community course reports. These are observations from the recording, so conditions may have changed since the rounds discussed.
Reflection Bay and The Club at Sunrise Show Encouraging Signs
Matt and Jeremy describe a positive outing at Reflection Bay. Although the greens still showed signs of recent aeration and sanding, they felt the putting surfaces rolled well. Their discussion highlights why a useful course report should explain what golfers will encounter, rather than rely on a score alone.
The Club at Sunrise also earns praise for its green appearance and putting surfaces. The hosts discuss visible maintenance work and why the course deserves attention from players looking beyond their usual rotation. Angel Park’s practice area receives a positive mention, while Revere’s Lexington course comes up for its renovation and reopening news.
Coyote Springs: Good Greens, Uneven Surrounds
The Coyote Springs discussion is more mixed. The crew praises the greens and much of the fairway turf, but points to problem areas around the greens. Jeremy explains that those patches can affect approach shots and leave players with challenging lies.
That distinction matters when assessing Las Vegas golf course conditions. A course can offer excellent putting surfaces while still presenting issues elsewhere. Knowing where the trouble spots are helps golfers understand the experience they are paying for.
Giving Las Vegas Golfers a Voice
Rising green fees run through the episode’s local golf conversation. The hosts describe the frustration of paying more without seeing a matching improvement in conditions—and how difficult it is to skip a round when golf is what you love.
The Chasing Daylight community aims to make those experiences easier to share. Player profiles and course condition reports can help golfers compare notes, connect with other players, and contribute more detail about the courses they play.
Golf Balls, Gear, and the Road to Episode 400
Beyond the course updates, the crew debates Titleist Pro V1 and Callaway Chrome Tour X performance, cover durability, and the value of finding a ball that suits your game. They also talk headcovers, an Odyssey White Damascus putter find, and excitement around Trey’s Mid-Am trip.

Joe 1:53
You know why I say that, right? No, why do you say that? I say it because it’s it’s not our actual website, used tubes. Because uh over there on that other app, you’re not supposed to like promote other areas, so that’s why I say the use tubes. Also, when I was uh I had a friend, we won a beer pong tournament, and we replaced every this is 20 years ago. We replaced every word and added a Z at the end, and that’s probably where we get cleany boys and fucking all that shit and used tubes, so that’s where that comes from. Hey, Trey, the Las Vegas Golf Realtor in here. We can talk about that later, too. Hanging out and mega banger, yeah.
Matt 2:33
Up north, you’ve got a little bit kind of a big golf tournament coming up.
Joe 2:37
Let’s go, Davy. Davy Nick, cleany boys, Davy.

Headcover Problems & The Buck Club
Matt 3:45
Coyote Springs, we can talk about Reflection Bay. You can see it up here. The ass man head cover has been retired.
Joe 3:53
Oh shit.
Matt 3:53
So sad.
Joe 3:54
No surprise, no surprise there.
Matt 3:56
So sad. No, it is a surprise, and it’s retired because it’s fallen apart.
Joe 4:02
Oh, and you’re the guy touting the quality, dude.
Matt 4:05
The quality was amazing. I I got the wool had been pulled over my eyes. Apparently, it’s fantastic if you just leave it on a shelf, but you game it.
Jeremy 4:15
But when you play golf and you have your clubs out as much as you do, what’s really gonna last?
Dan 4:22
Where’s where’s it falling apart at?
Joe 4:25
I’ll show you. Did the it’s magnetic, right? Did them the magnets move? That’s what I hate. I hate when the magnets move. That’s the absolute worst. They do a really good store.
Jeremy 4:37
The buck club, we’re talking to you. That yes, yeah, so old ones, the old ones, so the old ones are so bad.
Joe 4:45
The new swag sucks too with the magnets. The magnets suck on them. Did I sell my fucking buck club?
Jeremy 4:53
Yeah, I have one of yours. Yeah, you sold one. The purple one is it the purple cactus channel?
Joe 4:58
Uh huh. I don’t know if you can see it, but sick head cover, but that magnet. Oh red peeling. Oh, peeling. Yeah, just vegan sun being down on that pleather.
Matt 5:10
The the mag the magnets are amazing. This they they do the reinforced in that pocket, and it’s you only got that like six months, seven months ago, three months ago. Three months ago, yeah. Yeah, yeah, it’s it’s the corner right there is ripping, the stitching’s coming out. I threw some heat on it just to melt it so it stopped spreading. But it was I grabbed it and I’m like, oh no, it’s I mean, I’ve gotten more comments on this head cover than anything else I’ve ever had in my bag ever. And it’s sad.
Joe 5:41
Hatch hatch is the best quality head covers out there, in my opinion. That remember that purple one that I fucking lost. That you can’t. Oh, that was Hatch. Yeah, that was Hatch. Well, it was Kingdom, or it was the Kingdom King Collective uh Goat Hill Park uh release, but hatch made it, and it was just solid. Yeah, thick. Shout out Cam Kelly.
Matt 6:06
It’s pretty sad.
Joe 6:07
I’m I’m uh Teresa Teresa, Teresa, new resident of Nevada coming soon, does not know what the Buck Club is.
SPEAKER_08 6:15
Oh shit. Jeremy, you want to inform her?
Jeremy 6:18
So Zach Blair, uh PGA player from Utah, has dreams and aspirations of building a course in Utah called the Buck Club. So he started a side business selling covers and clothing and bags and all kinds of stuff just to kind of make it a club sort of thing that people can buy into. Honestly, think Scotty Cameron, but like cooler design, yeah, like very boutique, sort of hard to find things that he just makes in limited quantities, and then people go crazy to buy him. Yeah, so the old covers were not that great, the new ones are pretty solid.
Joe 6:53
And he he did not fulfill his dream of Utah golf course yet, but he did build a golf course in South Carolina. You might be familiar with it. It’s called the Tree Farm. Uh, but still aspirations of building one in Utah. Yeah, but he started he started the brand to try and raise money to build the golf course, right?
Matt 7:12
Yeah, and what he was doing like swag did at a 10-time level and just yeah, blew up and then exactly, yeah. Yeah, head covers are like insanely popular right now to get the limited edition ones.
Joe 7:28
There’s a lot of sick buck club buck club head covers.
Jeremy 7:32
Yeah, and some of it goes for big money on eBay.
Matt 7:37
Oh yeah, oh yeah. Teresa’s gonna send a season assist to him.
New Hats, Discount Codes & Ultra Pouches
Matt 7:45
She’s the OG butt club. Hey, Jeremy, Jeremy came out with some new lids. Look at that. It’s and it’s in the the snapback trucker 110. Snappy trucker. It fits my head nicely. So I’m rocking that.
Jeremy 8:03
Yep, go to butter. You can use 15% off uh CDP Daylight. CD CDP, what is it? CdP Daylight Daylight 15, Daylight 15.
Joe 8:14
I haven’t added that yet, but we’ll do that. Damn Good Butter, DamngoodPutter.com, Garsengolf.com, Daylight 15. Yeah, check out, save yourself some money. Also, if you’re playing golf in Utah, you might see DGP hats in the Pro Shop. Yeah, you might use them around. I mean people are wearing them up there.
Jeremy 8:33
So they’re making their way around.
Matt 8:37
Hey, also, um, Ultra. I have to add this to the website, but Ultra, the the like Zen packs that don’t have nicotine in them.
Joe 8:45
Um we abdata gins, abdata gens, abdata adapted gens.
Matt 8:55
Yes. Uh Jeremy and I tried them out yesterday. Uh so I didn’t know what the discount code was gonna be, and I had to submit it. So I didn’t want to use Daylight 15, and then they’re like, oh, it’s five percent off. So uh it’s just code daylight. So if you go to Ultra and you want to buy some, you can use our code Daylight.
Joe 9:13
And uh we got a code for Ultra Pouches? Yeah, when is when did this happen? Uh I’m gonna go order some right now. I’ve always wanted to I’ve always wanted to try those. Yeah, I’ve used Daylight at the Ultra Pouch what’s up. What’s the pouch? What’s the website?
Matt 9:31
I don’t know. Ultra. I’m gonna put a link in the ultra pouches. I wanted to get them to try them first. I didn’t want to put it up and then take one and you know have hives for four days and and uh so you had to get away.
Joe 9:45
I haven’t seen those. I haven’t seen those. I mean they got L-theonine. I’m I swear, like because I bought you know when Phil came out with his coffee and he had all that, you know, he had the theanine in there and he had the mushrooms and what whatever the good stuff and then the good stuff. And I started taking uh L-theanine before my rounds, and it literally does help you lock in.
Matt 10:07
So I you know we saw that yesterday.
Joe 10:10
It helps you lock in, it really does. L the you can you can go get the capsules at Sprouts or whatever Amazon, but it really does. I took too many one time and I got super jittery, so I stopped stopped taking them.
Matt 10:23
Yeah, watermelon, there’s a tropical, there’s a blue ras, there’s a winter green, and a cool mint. So those are the flavors that we got. What the hell?
Joe 10:31
Yeah, your system has run out of application memory. What do I gotta do?
Matt 10:36
Joe’s frozen. Yeah, you froze.
unknown 10:38
Fuck.
Matt 10:39
Well, at least it’s an admirable photo this time, not yep. Everybody poke fun at Joe’s.
Dan 10:57
This guy. Is he gone? Is he still with us?
Matt 11:02
Uh I don’t know. We’ll find out. Uh so Kyle, yeah. Um I’ll have the link on the website uh later on tonight or in the morning if you want to use that code. And uh yeah. Sorry, well, while Joe’s tied up. Uh we’ll go into a
Team Golf & The Scottie Scheffler Debate
Matt 11:20
few things here. Uh, we got the President’s Cup coming up this weekend. Uh, I’ve been watching live at. They’ve been replaying the same one for like 24 hours. It’s it’s a little disappointing, but uh the course looks fantastic. The the everybody is getting geeked up for it. It will be um it’ll be a fun week to see. Uh the American team is highly favored. And uh I’m gonna do that this way so we can see everybody. Um and it I mean all technicalities, but they should they should win this. We you know, home field advantage, long course, soft course. They they hit the ball a lot further, and um you know they’re home. But on that news front, as far as the American team supposedly supposed to dominate this, did you guys catch some of the grief that Scotty’s catching for not going and playing the European tournament right now?
Dan 12:20
Yeah, yeah.
Matt 12:22
What is up with that?
Dan 12:24
It’s just there’s retards everywhere.
Jeremy 12:27
Yeah, it’s so they’re complaining that he’s not playing.
Matt 12:30
Yeah, like he needs to represent golf globally as the best player in the world and should be playing in tournaments where the fields are stacked, like the BMW. He should have been there.
Joe 12:42
Are you talking about Scheffler?
Matt 12:44
Yeah, and I’m like, um best player in the world, he can do whatever the hell he wants.
Dan 12:50
Yeah, that’s true. Again, just it’s it’s dumb. I mean, we know he’s damned if he does the damn if you do, damn if you don’t, you know. Maybe the guy just wants to spend some time with his family, you know. It’s just it is, it’s a non-issue, it’s a non-story. Man, it’s unbelievable. It’s dumb. They’re bored right now. There’s no there’s nothing great going on, so might as well spark something, you know.
Matt 13:17
Yep. So I I I mean, if the number one player in the world was Rory McElroy, and there was events coming in the United States, I would not be like, he should be here. So yeah, right over there, Joe?
Joe 13:36
Yeah, so I got a I got a notification that I ran out of memory or something on my thing, so I’m trying to I’m trying to clean it up a little bit. And then close some programs. No, it’s a it said uh you have to restart this because you’re whatever. Um but yeah, you’re right, you’re probably right because you’re the guy. So you are him.
Matt 14:03
I respect him for standing on 10. I’ll try. Let me see.
Jeremy 14:06
Stream yard. I mean, I do remember when Tiger was number one, like people were complaining that he hasn’t played in enough tournaments and all that stuff. But I mean, Scotty’s he plays like every he is so many events.
Matt 14:18
He plays a lot of events.
Jeremy 14:20
He plays after the season, he plays all the extra stuff. Let me see if I can switch it to cares.
Dan 14:26
Yeah, seriously. And then how much money did he just win a month ago? 30 million?
Jeremy 14:31
Yeah, so how much did he win for the year?
Matt 14:34
120, something like that.
Jeremy 14:36
Yeah, I mean for two years in a row, he’s that career.
Matt 14:39
He got 120.
unknown 14:41
Yeah.
Dan 14:42
Give me a break. Leave the man alone. Leave the man alone.
Jeremy 14:45
Seriously, leave Shuffler alone. Check, check.
Matt 14:50
Yeah, exactly. Rory misses more U.S. events than anyone, and he lives in Florida. Yes, exactly. 50 mil on the year, Trey says. Look at that grin. Trey, you need to update that photo. You’re a lot thinner now. Come on now.
SPEAKER_02 15:04
Your whole structure has changed. All right, I’m gonna bounce from this one and then I just try to join. Oh no, I don’t and leave.
Matt 15:14
Don’t let me kick you out. Don’t end the show.
SPEAKER_02 15:18
Boot him.
Matt 15:20
Dan hammer. The Dan Hammer. Uh, all right.
Join the Chasing Daylight Golf Community
Matt 15:27
So for those of you that are here that uh have checked out what’s going on on the website, uh, want to give everybody an update. I sent some emails out uh to help explain it, but apparently there’s still some little bit of issues. Joe is explaining to me what some of the problems people are having, so I’m gonna work on that tonight. But we have created a community page. It was just uh where people could go that were doing the course uh conditions reports. And I’m like, you know what, we’re gonna be doing more than just this course condition reports. Uh I wanted people to create a user profile so they we can keep track so no one’s like double stacking good reviews for their favorite course and dogging their unfavorite. Um, so I wanted to have the user accounts. We got those in place, everything’s set. Um, but and now everybody can go in and edit their profile. Let’s see, Joe’s back here. All right, you good?
Joe 16:20
I think so. I hope so. I deleted a bunch of stuff and restarted.
Matt 16:24
So, all right. Um, so when you go to edit your profile, when you’re looking at it, if you want to be a part of our community page, and the community page is pretty cool, I’ll bring it up here and show everybody. Uh, there’s two boxes that you have, there’s two check mark boxes you have to click. One says make my profile public. Right now, if you don’t want people to know who you are or that you’re posting and you want to do everything anonymously, that is your choice. Not cool if you want to be a part of a community, but you have that choice. Uh, the other one is add me to the community. If you check those two things, then save your profile to be added to the community page. Let me bring up the community page and I will show everybody what exactly is going on so they can see. Because this is gonna be important for us because when we start doing events um where we are encouraging people to sign up, it’s gonna be through the website. Yeah, so uh let me see make everybody can see, and there’s probably gonna be bugs, but you know, yeah, there’s gonna be some bugs.
Joe 17:33
Give some time.
Matt 17:34
There’s gonna be some bugs, all right. So uh when once you sign in and you create your account, if you go to this my profile, you see community. You click on community and it brings you to this more than just a community, right? There’s a little drop down that tells you everything that’s going on here, and then here’s our community members. You can see that we’ve done it and Steven Jackson. Um, so thank you, Steven Jackson, for being then why am I number 12?
Joe 18:00
Why am I number 12?
Matt 18:02
Why are you number 12?
Joe 18:04
It says I was number 12.
Matt 18:07
Yeah, you’re you’re the 12th person to sign up since we started it.
Joe 18:12
So, where’s the other people?
Matt 18:14
They haven’t done their profile.
Joe 18:17
Oh, guys, you gotta do it. You gotta do that. You gotta do that.
Matt 18:21
You must do that, you have to activate your profile. So, uh Joe, Joe has a special badge because he has a whatnot channel. So if you click on Joe’s profile, you can see down here.
Joe 18:34
And you can also see that the knights won the cup at some point.
Matt 18:38
And there’s a link that goes to a show, and also has Instagram, YouTube, and the Hit and Greens website. Uh, you can view the back of the card. Some really cool information on this stuff, and then you can you know go to full player details, and uh, you know, there’s a what’s in the bag section that Joe hasn’t done yet, but all that is there. But it’s the main thing is we want to get as many people on this community page as possible. The more people we get on this page and the more active it becomes, the more features we can enable. And that’s you know what I’m hoping everything does.
Dan 19:14
Also, I I just noticed Jeremy’s profile picture, the title of this king. I just noticed it just now. That’s awesome.
Jeremy 19:21
The king has arrived. The king has arrived.
Dan 19:24
Uh uh like a special refractor. Also, one of one.
Joe 19:28
I we should make we should try and make some of those. If you’ve seen Ollie uh Negro or Nigrero Negrero or whatever, he’s been making cards, we should do some. Um, but you know, it is it is highly like focused on Vegas, right? But I think I think there’s opportunity there as well to like anybody that’s outside of Las Vegas, like building community. Like, if you if you sign up and you’re in an area where there’s golf and we visit, or somebody from Las Vegas visits, it’s a it’s a network to where you can utilize your resources. Like I always say, like, you know, know people in other spots because you never know when you’re gonna show up in their area, or you know, you never know when you’re gonna come to Vegas. Um, so it just it’s helpful to know people that are of the same like-mindedness as you. And I mean, it’s fucking it’s awesome. I mean, that’s what’s so dope about golf, the connections you make.
Matt 20:28
Trey, you got some business to handle this week, so not worried about it.
Joe 20:30
Yeah, don’t worry about it, Trey. That’s don’t worry about Trey.
Matt 20:33
Go go go out there and fucking go low. Chasing Daylight Podcast.com.
Joe 20:40
Chasing Daylight Podcast.com.com.
Matt 20:43
Yeah. And then uh where’s the link to this page? It’s chasingdaylightpodcast.com. And then once you get on the page, if you have not registered, you will see uh in the top right, or if you hit the little hamburger if you’re on mobile, there’ll be an option to create an account. You have to create an account in order to get into the community. All right, so um do that. Like I said, it’s name, first name, and I I I really would like everybody to put their first and last name in. You don’t have to have that displayed publicly, but I’d like to know who the heck we’re talking to. Um, I know a lot of people don’t like that. I I don’t I I don’t know why. It’s it’s a it’s a closed community. You can only people who sign up can see it, so uh it’s it’s a way to network. Um, but I mean Joe has hit and greens, everybody knows his hit and greens, so that’s fine.
Joe 21:40
Um, but when you when I mean they are tracking you already, but you know, I try and do everything I can just to like evade occasionally.
Matt 21:47
So when we have an event and you’re gonna need to register for an event, you know, when we’re we’re gonna try and have a spring, early summer event, you know, where we have 144 players come out and play a golf. Course, and we have a fun event, we’re gonna need all that information anyways. So have it in your profile already. We’ll save you a step. Um, you know, because we’re gonna have to verify payments and all that stuff, you know. So um be be be a part of the community, and it’s it’s I think it could be really cool. It could be really cool, and you know, as like I said, the more people that turn that on and activate it, the better it’s gonna be, the more features we can enable, you know. There’s all all kinds of there’s so many different things that we can do. So um, yeah, check it out.
Joe 22:38
Yeah, go sign up, chase the daylight podcast.com. Come hang out with us. Help us build something cool.
Matt 22:44
The course conditions is doing really good. Uh, we have 51 review reports have been submitted over 28 golf courses. Thank you, everybody, for doing that. Um, we’ve only had three turned in from Coyote Springs. Considering we had 60 guys out there, I’m a little hurt. I’m a little hurt. That’s all right.
Jeremy 23:06
People didn’t want to like rehash what other people have already said.
Joe 23:10
I think I think we need to make it an app. But that costs money, right?
Matt 23:16
Uh, I mean it’s possible. We’ll see how it goes. We’ll see how it goes. I this is you know, trial and error, period. Um, I really I’ve made the mobile version very simple to use. I streamlined a lot of it. It was a lot of clutter. It’s not clutter anymore, it’s really streamlined, and uh it’s very easy to use. So yeah, Paul, I just saw you logged in, so thank you so much. Yeah, every city needs it. Watching you.
Joe 23:45
That’s true, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Matt 23:48
And uh I don’t know, I don’t want to be dead horse. I’ve been talking about it a lot, but I’ve been grinding on this thing. Uh I’m I’m really excited about it. And I think once everybody sees how effective it can be, because right now what sucks is there’s so many courses that are either closed or shut down for maintenance repairs, uh, overseating. Uh, there’s a lot going on. So come October, I’d say end of October when everybody’s off, car path only, everybody’s off, restrictions, all the courses are open. There’s gonna be a lot more play going on. So hopefully people can be a lot more active.
Joe 24:21
Yeah, need a need a QR code in the Pro Shop that says right around on Chasing Day Light podcast.
SPEAKER_08 24:27
Working on it. I mean, I want to go flyer every parking lot, but I also don’t want a flyer OG marketing.
Joe 24:36
I mean, I used to I used to put flyers under a hell of
Rising Green Fees: Are Conditions Worth It?
Joe 24:40
occasional wifers. I don’t think golf courses want to hear from golfers, honestly.
Matt 24:45
That’s the sad thing. I I think you’re a hundred percent right, and that’s why I want to give a voice to the golfers. We don’t have one right now, we don’t have a voice because no matter what we say, the golf courses around here. I don’t know how this I know this is happening in Phoenix, I know this is happening in parts of California. There’s even some places in Florida that we’ve talked to some people where you know the rates are going crazy and the conditions are not justifiable. Um, but we don’t have a voice.
Joe 25:14
Yeah, it’s true.
Matt 25:17
Until people stop paying the money, you know, and but we have to golf. We want to golf, so we’re gonna go pay if we have to, if we want to play. Um, and that’s this that’s the tough part right now is you know, hey, we can stand firm and say, hell no, we’re not gonna go play this golf course. Somebody’s gonna go, God, I really want to go play.
SPEAKER_02 25:41
Yeah, absolutely.
Matt 25:43
So it’s tough, you know. It’s hard to make a stand when what you’re standing against is what you love and what you want to do.
Joe 25:51
I I was thinking about this today. I was in the EDR at work and they had a suggestion box, and it was like there was paper and pen. And I automatically thought, what’s that course with Pete Guy where he put it on, like I think it’s Pete Dye, where he put the suggestion box out into the middle of the lake? Oh, what course was that? But you know, the suggestion box was in the middle of the lake, so it’s giving a voice to you know, course is uh can’t boycott stuff when it’s the best thing, right? And that’s true, yeah. It’s hard, it’s hard, it’s hard. Well, I mean, even like uh you know, I think about the pricing nowadays, and I’m like, I don’t know how I used to play two times a week, you know, but it was it was 50 bucks, you know. Yeah, and you could go out there, spend 50 bucks, and only play nine holes because the sun went down, and you’re like, ah, it’s 50 bucks. Now it’s like, yeah, I dropped, I dropped a hundred on this. I the I gotta finish, I gotta find a way to get this all in. It sucks, man. It’s it’s so expensive.
Matt 26:56
You can’t rush because there’s a foursome in front of a foursome.
Joe 26:58
That’s true, because it’s all stacked, it’s all stacked back to back to
Reflection Bay, Angel Park & Club at Sunrise
Joe 27:02
back.
Matt 27:02
So we played Jeremy and I conserve Shaq. Steven Jackson and AG played uh Reflection Bay yesterday. Somebody had submitted a report and gave Reflection Bay tens across the board, except for the practice area, they gave us seven, which I was like, what? No, this can’t be right. It’s not, it can’t be yeah, no shot. No shot. Um, surprisingly, it’s pretty good. It’s it’s not pictures look good. Pictures look good. Yeah, but uh the the green, you can tell they’ve been recently punched and sanded, so they’re probably what you say, 10 days, maybe 12 days outside of the punch sand, Jeremy. Yeah, still some sand in some areas, but they they rolled pretty damn good. Um, you can definitely tell that that type of grass that it’s is Club at Sunrise is there. It’s it’s coming in. I think another couple weeks in some cooler weather, it’s gonna be really good. It’s gonna be really good. So it was fun to play. We had a good time. Yep. Uh I beat Jeremy four and three. Or three was three up with four and three. Was it four and three or three and two?
Jeremy 28:16
Four and three.
unknown 28:18
Yeah.
Joe 28:20
So do the green are the greens all fully grown in? Because last time I was out there, there was like dirt spots, and fully grown in.
Matt 28:27
There was no dirt. There was no dirt spotches. It it’s it’s good.
Jeremy 28:31
It’s just finally after three years, huh? Everything’s the same shade of green, too.
Matt 28:36
Yeah, it’s uh it was nice. I how much did they charge? 82 was local rate.
Joe 28:44
82 local rate.
SPEAKER_02 28:46
I mean it’s not horrible.
Matt 28:47
No, that’s a solid for a local after 10. You know, it was it was 102 before 10, and then I think up until one o’clock, it was that 82. I think it went to 75 around noon, and then at two o’clock it jumped back up to 100.
Jeremy 29:04
So um at two o’clock?
Matt 29:07
Yeah, it was weird.
Jeremy 29:08
It was it was pretty busy.
Dan 29:09
It was there was golfers everywhere. That’s weird, too. It goes up. Yeah, like fuck you, Twilight players. It’s even more.
Matt 29:19
Yeah, it’s even more. Yeah, Julian was telling me that him and Trey played out there and uh Stelly Mountain’s in good shape. Greens are so grainy, but good T to green. That’s awesome to hear.
Joe 29:34
So here we go. Surfshack, he’s the homie. Shout out Matt, Surfshack Golf. Um, he he did sign up for the CDP golf community, childpodcast.com.
SPEAKER_08 29:45
Activate profile.
Joe 29:47
But he said it’s look it was looking crisp out here, and he was just in Las Vegas last week. This is the season where everything’s getting overseeded, you know, it’s it’s it’s the time of rebirth, if you will. It’s the dormant beige season. It’s it’s the dormant bays into the overseed homies season. So yeah, uh, but that happens.
Matt 30:13
Um, Julian and I, we were out at Angel Park on Sunday, and uh let’s see where let me bring up who where was it? There it is. Got to meet one of the legends in Vegas, Darden Nick’s Darden’s Guard. That is the back of the range, and see how green that is. Yeah, that’s how it’s looking out there. It’s pretty, pretty green. Pretty, pretty green.
Joe 30:44
Uh they use some water out there, yeah.
Matt 30:46
They they put some work because we’ve been out there in fittings before, and it’s not fun what we have had to have people hit off of. So that was that was nice seeing uh some good grass out there. He said the corpses are they’re a little bit behind on Palm.
Joe 31:02
Um, but uh you didn’t you didn’t go out there, did you mountain? No, we didn’t pay because mountain that whole that whole pond or on what’s redone it’s two, yeah, it’s all redone. I’m curious to see how that looks.
Matt 31:15
Yep, yep. Um, and then we were at Club at Sunrise on Thursday, and that place is green as hell.
SPEAKER_01 31:24
Like wow, could not believe how green that course was because I where Club at Sunrise Desert Rose, the ditch the ditch, the Igloo Cooler.
Matt 31:37
I haven’t seen it that green decades. I mean, it’s been a long time since it was that green, it was fantastic looking.
Joe 31:48
Very surprising, and and it’s not paint, right?
Matt 31:51
No, that not right now. I mean, maybe if it all goes dormant, they’ll paint it. But uh, there was tons of piles of landscape and sand. Um, they are putting some money into it, and good things, good things.
Jeremy 32:06
See a blue igloo igloo cooler down in the ditch.
Matt 32:09
No, we didn’t uh I was looking, got it got our ditch bingo card ready.
Joe 32:16
Dogs barking. I like the ditch. I mean, like the only problem they have is that that fucking ditch on the right side of every time, and that’s I mean, Jeremy hit probably one of Jeremy’s best shots I’ve seen him ever hit. The whole out on nine, the holout on nine, yeah. That was a good one. That was a good one. First time it did at the ditch. So we made but also their greens are always fantastic, too. The green, uh, have you seen those greens dead, dormant? No, brown ever? No, no, it’s that great dirt spots, dirt spots. Nope. I’ve never I thought they were turf the first time I played there.
Jeremy 32:55
It looks so fake, it looks so perfect.
Joe 33:00
They they need to they need to like market that.
SPEAKER_08 33:05
Yeah, yeah.
Joe 33:06
Don’t play, don’t play dormant when you can come play the ditch.
Jeremy 33:10
Best greens in the country. Oh wild. I’d argue that one. I’d argue that one. I know. But you know what? You can say whatever you want now, it doesn’t have to be true. It’s true.
Joe 33:33
The best drought tolerant greens in the country. I would I might go with that one. Yeah, I might go with that one.
Jeremy 33:39
Most chain link on a golf course in the country.
Dan 33:42
Most dogs and police. There’s a lot of a lot of chain link.
Jeremy 33:46
Uh, I it is a fun course though, honestly.
Joe 33:49
I don’t remember who I was playing with, but I remember playing with somebody, and then they there was an announcement on the screen on the cart, and it said, uh, warning guy with a machete on the golf course.
Matt 34:05
Really good chance that was the ditch.
Joe 34:07
Who did I mean? I was playing with somebody.
Dan 34:10
It was the ditch, or it was national, one of the two.
Joe 34:12
No, it was the ditch. It was the ditch. I just don’t remember who I was playing with.
Matt 34:17
Look at that. Can’t see the vibrantness of this. That’s clever. It’s very freaking green. That’s the range. Like, except for that spot. Yeah, well, that’s where people walk. No, I know. I’m just fucking around. Everybody talks about the greens here. It’s because they’re amazing.
Dan 34:36
It’s because they’re amazing.
Matt 34:37
It’s because they’re amazing. Look at how awesome this is. I mean, it’s a flawless place. It looks like a astro turf. It’s just incredible. Don’t sleep on the club of sunrise.
Dan 34:52
You’re hired, Matt. Yeah, right. You’re hired. That’s good though.
Joe 35:00
Yeah.
Dan 35:00
Because the dish was rough for a long time.
Matt 35:03
Dude, it’s been rough for a really long time.
Joe 35:05
So I mean, I mean, it’s it’s it’s solid. It’s and it’s uh what is it? It’s like 50, 60 bucks.
Matt 35:16
You can get during the week.
Joe 35:17
Yeah, and you and you can go over there and uh I’m dying again. It’s good tacos over there, too.
Matt 35:25
Dirt dog right down the street.
Joe 35:28
Yeah, yeah. You get the Yantera shops if you need tires change, super cheap. Yanteras, uh Bob Bob West knows that joint.
Dan 35:38
Isn’t that uh Tacos Little Wero over there?
Joe 35:42
No, I think they’re gone. I think Taco’s a güero is gone, but that was a good stop after. Yeah, I think they’re gone. You got the OG Fap boy, but I mean, a lot of I mean East Side is pretty slept on, you know. I know we all wouldn’t want to live over there, but that’s why there’s some culture. There’s some culture over there, though. Yeah, I mean, it used to be called Sportsman’s, but um a lot of culture over there, good food, too.
Matt 36:09
The Boulder Highway corridor will never be the same.
Joe 36:12
Yeah, Trey says it’s gone. Taco’s a guero’s gone. They fucked up, they they they stole from their investors, so oh that’s yeah.
Revere Lexington Renovation Update
Matt 36:23
Uh another news, uh Lexington opened up this morning, uh, yesterday morning. It’s been three months. Uh renovation. We’ve talked about this. Uh, all the par fives got the new grass that the 15th hole had. Um, and one in 18 uh got the new grass. Uh the other holes, typical overseed Lexington overseed. Um, they had some bunkers removed, uh, some other changes. Uh Julie and I are gonna go play tomorrow, so I’ll have a you know a course report on that and uh see how how Lexi’s doing.
Dan 36:58
Hopefully they uh leveled off those T-boxes too. Oh god, probably not.
Joe 37:04
I would I would assume they did not. I doubt it. I doubt that. It would be awesome, but I doubt it. Yeah, horse tea boxes. That if they that hopefully they did that because that would that’s a smart that’s smart advice there, Dan. And they had three months, like they should have done that.
Matt 37:26
I’ll I’ll talk to Tys. They have to know. I mean, it there’s they gotta I know there’s reasons why they dome them, but it’s like okay, it’s it’s been a long time.
Dan 37:35
Yeah, reinforce there’s there’s a difference between a slight dome and a full-on freaking uh you know, turtle ros green.
Joe 37:42
Yeah, I want to hit a I want to hit a slice or a hook. Which one?
Jeremy 37:47
Yeah, use your side of the T box. Uh maybe that’s what we’ve been doing wrong this whole time.
Dan 37:55
Oh, it’s funny. Just try teeing off on the balls four inches below my feet. Right. Hopefully they did that.
Matt 38:04
Kirsten Bush, I see you. You’re on there. That’s good, Kirsten. See, it’s not that hard, people. It’s not that hard.
Joe 38:11
There you go. Kirsten can figure it out. You can too. Killer baker in Alabama. Hit up hit a if you need uh baking in Alabama.
Matt 38:23
Nice. All right, let’s see. Okay, I’m on the page and profile complete, number 48. Thank you, Paul. Thank you very much. Mucho appreciado. See what else was going on in the golfing space?
Joe 38:40
Mucho appreciado.
Matt 38:42
JJ Spawn won. Yeah at the BMW. One after the seminar wasn’t out. After the he gets snubbed and wins. That’s okay. It drives you.
SPEAKER_01 38:53
Yeah.
Golf Distance Rules & The Ball Debate
Matt 38:54
Um, do you see what the USGA and RNA did today about the the equipment? Yeah, well, it’s not it’s kind of a bifurcation where they’re going to have the tour pros play equipment that is specifically designed to not hit the ball off the end of the planet. Um, it’s not a full ball rollback, it’s not a full equipment rollback, it’s kind of a combination of with this ball and this equipment, you’re gonna be limited on how far the ball goes, which it’s kind of weird, but we’ll see.
Dan 39:32
Only the guys on tour?
Matt 39:34
Yeah, it’s gonna, it’s gonna be just a tour level thing only.
Joe 39:38
This is the whole thing where like they’re just gonna they’re just gonna want to make everybody that plays golf want to play those golf balls. Everybody’s gonna get their hands on them, they’re gonna be on single ball shows, and it’s like, hey, it’s a it’s a pro v1, it’s a collector’s ball. Yeah, it’s a pro v one hashtag uh tour only, and you know, because I mean we all but we all compare ourselves to tour players.
Matt 40:08
But would you want to play that golf ball? A ball that goes not as far.
Joe 40:14
Me, I don’t care. I mean, you know, I would like to be like hunting down.
Matt 40:18
Oh, I have to play the ball that the guys are playing on tour.
Joe 40:21
I’m no, no, I I just think it’s it I would I would definitely want to play it occasionally to measure up to where because we look at them like they’re so good, like you would want to be able to measure yourself to what they do. I mean, like not even a computer. No, I okay, that’s fine. Then go play top flights, they go further. You know, somebody hard, play hard balls, play hard balls.
Dan 40:46
I like the way they feel. As somebody who uh who grew up playing in the Ballada era, there is nothing good and beneficial about playing of rollback ball. I want to play. I mean, it was there’s times where you could pull a ball right out of the right out of the box, miss hit it just a little bit, and that ball is destroyed.
SPEAKER_02 41:11
Exploded.
Dan 41:12
There’d be a fucking nose on it, a cut.
Matt 41:15
I mean the noses were hilarious. Yeah, it was looking like an egg. Seriously.
Dan 41:23
Now you can blast them in the desert and off a carpath and look, you know, barely look like they did anything to them. Yeah.
Joe 41:31
No, I mean I mean, I’d be curious what they do.
Matt 41:34
I did something yesterday that caught Jeremy by surprise. So uh after the front nine, I said, Hey, you got a golf ball I can borrow.
Dan 41:44
Oh, you played a pro v1, huh?
Matt 41:46
Played a pro v1 on the back nine, yeah. Just uh just to get a little comparison, you know.
Joe 41:51
You switching?
Matt 41:54
Um, no, but it’s it’s intriguing. It was definitely intriguing because I I liked my ball flight with it.
Dan 42:03
All you need to do, Matt, is just paint them white and throw a calloway on there, and you’ll never know. You’ll never know the difference.
Matt 42:09
I’m not a staffer, I can play whatever the hell I want. I play the Callaway stuff because one, I can get it a lot cheaper and it’s really good.
Dan 42:17
Understood.
Matt 42:18
Yeah. Um, if I got free titleess balls, I’d probably be playing titles. So um, but yeah, I was I was I was a little surprised. I and I showed Jeremy one up after one shot, you know, it it gets a little shark fins if you catch a wed wedge crispy with it. That doesn’t happen with the Callaway balls, from my experience playing the new stuff. Um, but I mean it it uh it was pretty good. I hit it well.
Dan 42:45
So if you are playing next gen so you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s funny. Played next gen for about six holes. What a piece of shit that is. It’s uh it’s not a good idea.
Matt 43:04
Yeah, just yeah, it’s a good way to do it.
Dan 43:07
I mean hey Kyle, don’t sleep on Callaway Solana clubs. What are is that Solera? What are they calling that?
Joe 43:14
Solaire, Solaire, Solera, Rivas, the Rivas, that’s what they do.
Dan 43:20
That’s animated ladies’ clubs in the range and the wind. I was getting these low lasers, right? This crazy crosswind, bro. 40 grand ladies’ shorts if you don’t sleep on the Rivas, bro.
Joe 43:32
Tracy, not Tracy, thank you.
Matt 43:35
Tracy has to win the bag now. P Dog. Yeah.
Joe 43:41
Uh Vice Pro Plus question mark, not bad for 40.
Jeremy 43:46
I would pay 15 more and get Pro V1s, honestly.
Dan 43:49
I got a sleeve of Okins in the garage. I’ll sell you for 500.
Joe 43:55
Here’s the thing. Here’s the thing. Here, here’s the thing. Vice Pro Plus is a Solid bomb, but the the cover sucks, and that’s why Titalist is so good because that cover will go to battle for you and it’ll last a long time, much longer. Callaway lasts longer than a Vice Pro Plus. Bridgestone lasts longer, but and Shrixon does last longer, but Titalist that that shit can take damage. That’s why they’re so good because Titleist has mastered the cover, in my opinion. In my opinion, um, but Vice Pro Plus, I’ve played it solid ball, but hey, that shit gets chipped automatically. So if you like chips in your balls, there you go.
Matt 44:43
Good balls in my balls. Like our chips stay out of our balls, please.
Joe 44:50
I I mean I play I played the Vice Vice balls for a while, but it just you hit you you hit a rock, you hit it out of bounds once, you hit it in the bunker, it’s chipped.
Matt 45:01
Yep, Shrixon’s good. Yeah, they’re that’s a good golf ball.
Joe 45:04
Yeah, Shrixon Great Balls.
Matt 45:06
The Bridgestone balls are great.
Joe 45:08
Well, Shrixon’s a rubber company along with Bridgestone. Callaway invested a shit ton of money into their ball development when they were found that the core was off center, so those are better now. But titleist, I mean, you know what you’re gonna get every time.
Matt 45:25
I lose the vice before the cover’s a problem. Yeah, well, there you go.
Joe 45:32
Then then play Vice.
Matt 45:33
Wilson. Thanks, Matty Boyd. Uh Wilson may have the best cover in golf. I will say that because uh when I was playing the Wilson staff, well, you play the yellow balls, and those those are awful. But the the white yellow balls okay.
Joe 45:50
So so what you’re saying is so what you’re saying is a Wilson staff, white or yellow, the yellow sucks, and the white is good. That’s what you just said.
Matt 45:59
I thought that is exactly what I said, and you know that from experience.
Joe 46:04
No, I don’t know that, but I do know they get chipped up, yeah. But you’re saying it’s a great ball, then why is the color different? I don’t know why the yellow ones aren’t as this is why titleist titles yellows or whites, they’re the same. So that’s why I’m saying there that’s where it’s at.
Matt 46:23
I played a ball, but I do enjoy the Wilson stuff. I played a I played a Chrome Tour X yesterday for nine holes, and there wasn’t one mark on it. After three holes with the titleists, there was spin marks on it from my wedge shots. So, my opinion, that cover is not as good as you say it is. My opinion.
Jeremy 46:41
I think the thing with Pro V1s for me, and the reason why I have always used them is the distance control. It’s it’s extremely you know, from the same from one shot to the other. I’ve tried the Wilson, great ball, and he is right. The Wilson cover is potentially potentially as good as a tide list, but I’ve tried Srixon, I’ve tried Callaway, I’ve tried all the other ones, and they just don’t fly consistently like the tideless does. And it might just be because I’m biased and I’m the tideless king, but big titeless king right here.
Dan 47:18
Well, you know, like you said, I’ve I’ve said before, you know, you know what you’re getting with Tideless Pro V1 and Pro V1X. Absolutely, that’s you know exactly what you’re getting. Every box, every ball play play them long enough, you know. Like I said, it doesn’t you just know what you’re getting. So maybe it’s because I’ve played them for so long and haven’t tried you know too many other brands, but just trust Titleist, my opinion.
Joe 47:40
But that’s also the thing is like, and then those aren’t for everybody either. That’s where you get into the nuances of sure, those aren’t for everybody. So sure, yeah.
Matt 47:51
Trey says you’re a prince now since you’re not exclusively titled.
Dan 47:54
Well, that’s yeah, getting getting getting fitted into a ball is is pretty crucial too.
Odyssey Putter Find & Swing Talk
Joe 48:00
One of the most important things you use it on every shot, unlike clubs.
Matt 48:04
So do and that that Damascus, white Damascus putter.
Dan 48:10
Dude, that thing was that thing was pretty, bro.
Matt 48:14
I rolled it like 29 puts yesterday, and yeah.
Dan 48:19
Did you weigh that thing?
Matt 48:22
Yeah, it’s actually it’s lighter than my black Odyssey milled.
Dan 48:27
Really? Yeah, because that thing has that thing felt like it had some head weight to it.
Matt 48:31
I thought it was gonna be like 360, but it it was uh the the milled, the black Odyssey milled the same head, number one, um, was uh 349 and a half, so right at 350, and this one was 340. So yeah.
Joe 48:47
I’ll tell you what, if you didn’t grab that, then that would have been on a secondhand golfer uh whatnot show. I guarantee you.
Matt 48:56
Yeah, that it’s it’s because he he shops he shops there. I buffed a lot of the the marks out of it, and uh man, it felt fantastic yesterday.
Jeremy 49:06
Clanie Boys, yeah. That store is a paradise for whatnot seller. It’s literally all used stuff, and it’s a lot of it’s like older vintage hard to find stuff, not the new one.
Matt 49:19
This this was this was an older one here. I’ll show you.
Jeremy 49:21
Yeah, Japan only.
Joe 49:27
Yeah, Tom Thomas goes there often. I mean, he’s in that area and he he makes those trips. I’ve seen him over there, but I mean, even what you showed with your videos. I mean, just crazy shit that’s people don’t even know about, you know.
Matt 49:42
Yep, so all the all that marking on the the hazle and the neck, all that’s off now. It all puffed out, so it looks almost new. Almost new. Yeah, it was awesome. It was awesome. Can someone help me fix my swing in this chat? What’s wrong with your swing?
Joe 50:02
We’re not coaches, Tyler.
Dan 50:05
Juju. Juju’s still in the chat, I think. He said he was at Top Golf, but he couldn’t see.
Joe 50:10
Yeah, go down to Topgolf. You’re at the sphere, right, Tyler? Go go hit up Top Golf.
Matt 50:16
I want to hear what’s wrong with the swing though. What’s wrong with the all right?
Joe 50:19
Sorry, there you go. Esher hack now. Swing harder the Hesher hack in the house. Stop the Hesh.
Matt 50:30
Stop Hesh. I’m happy you’re here. Ask Joe. All right, Joe.
Joe 50:38
I mean, he’s he swipes. He’s a swiper, so I mean, I don’t know.
SPEAKER_01 50:44
Swiper, no swiping.
Joe 50:45
Yeah, swiper, no swiping. That’s somebody’s name on whatnot. Tyler, is your ball is your ball fight left or right?
Dan 50:51
Is this ball fight left to right, Joe?
Joe 50:53
Yeah, left to right. Yeah, left to right. Swipey.
unknown 50:59
Come out.
Joe 51:00
Gotta get on the inside. Come out.
Dan 51:03
It’s your cat on fire. Club face shut down a little bit at uh at impact and compressed out.
Joe 51:09
What it all comes down to is you gotta match the face with your path. That’s the that’s I solved it right there. Match your face with your path. It’s so simple. Match the face angle with your swing path. Boom.
Matt 51:26
You what if you swing 10 degrees out to in? You match your face angle, and that you’re hidden, and you gotta match it.
Joe 51:32
Yeah, and you gotta match it. It’s it’s that easy.
Jeremy 51:35
There’s only one answer.
Joe 51:37
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 51:40
Zero degrees, zero degrees at impact. There you go. Baseball player.
Dan 51:45
Tyler, pull it, pull it down third baseline, bro. Joe is not baseball player.
Matt 51:50
Please do not listen to what he just said.
SPEAKER_08 51:55
Good lord.
Matt 51:56
Oh I’m glad Julian. That’s good advice, Dan.
Jeremy 52:00
That’s a good one.
Matt 52:01
Julian can’t hear this because he would have fallen off the third deck after hearing that shit. Jesus.
Joe 52:09
Oh no, he he swipes, so you just gotta maybe tuck the elbow, get it inside a little bit more. Really?
Dan 52:18
Quick right quit trying to go Oppo. Pull it down the pull it down the line.
Joe 52:22
Don’t try and hammer it. Honestly, try not to hammer it. Just trying to hit smoothie boys.
Matt 52:28
Boyd sending me quit how much for the the putter.
Joe 52:32
Well, Boyd Boyd gave up. I hope you’re doing good, boy. Hope your back feels better.
Dan 52:41
Um that’s did he hurt his back?
SPEAKER_01 52:44
Is that why he left? Oh, he quit.
Joe 52:48
No, his back was hurting. He couldn’t, yeah. He couldn’t, yeah. He couldn’t he couldn’t even grab his ball. Like Rob was grabbing his balls for him.
Dan 52:56
I was done playing.
SPEAKER_01 53:01
There’s only so much time you can take. That’s awesome. Oh yeah, dude’s playing.
Bryson’s Content, Formula Drift & NASCAR
Jeremy 53:10
Did you guys see DeShambeaux video? The hundred grand thing, dude. That reminded me of one of those cringy like TikTok videos where they all like do those skits together. He is a cornball.
Dan 53:24
He’s a good golfer, but he is a corny motherfucker.
Jeremy 53:27
He’s pretty, he’s pretty corny. He really is. Really tough to watch. I don’t know. Probably gonna finish it, but again, I once again like where we’re headed. I I wish he would just go back and play on the tour and just stop.
Matt 53:42
Is it the video out already with them competing? This the first round, I think I don’t understand.
Joe 53:47
Is like it’s it’s not a YouTube video, though. He’s like, come back tomorrow on the Instagram. So I thought he’s just putting out shorts or something. I don’t know. I will say once again, Chaz 100 just killed that fucking video. Like, he’s the star, man. At the end of the day, he’s like he he was last. He’s like, ah, yeah, we’re just here.
Dan 54:09
Hey, hey, let’s talk to Jared and get him on the show. Him and Jared are boys.
Joe 54:13
Yeah, yeah, I’m sure we can. Jared’s gonna be here next week, but uh for formula drift. So if anybody’s a formula drift fan in Vegas, they’re gonna be at the bull ring in uh at the motor speedway. So go check out formula drift. I don’t think I’m gonna make it. I talked to he called me last week.
Matt 54:31
So we fit a guy at Angel Park that is into drift, he’s a mechanic and he does drifting on the side, and he was showing us some of his videos. Fucking pretty awesome.
Joe 54:41
I just I don’t understand the rules, I have no idea.
Dan 54:44
I don’t either. I don’t either, but they had a little drifting show outside of SEMA too, and that was it’s pretty dope.
SPEAKER_04 54:50
But uh yeah, I’m like, okay, they make figure eights and slide around. How do you score that?
Joe 54:55
It has something to do with like how close you are to the the chase car and the follow like the start-off car and the chase car. I don’t know, but uh sideways.
SPEAKER_01 55:07
Yeah, all right.
Matt 55:11
I was really hoping that there would be more people that have than the community thing. So Kirsten, you’re the only one. Thank you.
Joe 55:18
Wow, wow, guys. Do us a favor. They’re too busy listening to us right now.
Matt 55:27
Yeah, yeah, that’s true. That’s true. You gotta wait.
Jeremy 55:29
That is true. We’ll put all the links in the description. So check that if you need the links, they’ll be in the description. Yep, but we’ll put the instructions if you need them.
Dan 55:38
Yeah, super simple. See cop paints comment. He’s a robot human. That’s what he looks like.
Jeremy 55:45
Seriously. So weird.
Matt 55:48
He looks uh he he yeah, he just doesn’t look right.
Dan 55:54
Just doesn’t look like see combofuckers knows what’s up. Look at it about how much you can mimic the movement of the lead car as well. If you transition at the same time, you score more points.
Joe 56:04
Yeah, yeah.
Dan 56:06
Okay. Combo fuckers, you gotta come down here next weekend and come to the formula drift. I can get you tickets. Come explain this to us. Where’s it going? Is it out at the speedway?
Joe 56:18
It’s at the bull. I just said it’s at the bull ring at the speedway.
SPEAKER_08 56:21
That’s why I asked. Jesus Christ.
Jeremy 56:23
Joe, can you get can you get tickets?
Joe 56:27
How many? Maybe four.
Jeremy 56:31
Uh let’s get a swing. I can message him too. I just I know you’re close.
Joe 56:35
No, he he called me on Friday and he was he’s trying to come. He’s gonna be here for CES, so he’s like, hey, like TJ Hunt is coming, so he’s like, You’re the I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to play, but they I they want to play Paiute. I got it, I got something special going on, or big going on at work. So I might not I might not be able to do it. Um, but I talked to Boyd and we we you know TJ Hunt. Does anybody know TJ Hunt? Yeah, I mean he’s he’s a big deal, so he’s gonna unveil uh unveil a big car at CES. So uh TJ Hunt, Jared, they’re looking to play.
SPEAKER_08 57:14
So nice.
Matt 57:16
Sweet. Hey Sir Fak, um go go to your profile page and edit your profile, and then when you look on that, there’s gonna be two boxes that says make my profile public, add me to the community. You have to check those, and then it’ll show up on the community page. You’re in there. I saw your account. You’re in there. So uh yeah, just just do that to get active on the community page. Hey, don’t forget, guys, October 3rd is a Saturday. We have tickets to the NASCAR race with pit passes and and everything for the uh Garrett, the uh driver that’s sponsored by Garson. Well, not by Garson. Garson is one of the 400 sponsors that cars have nowadays.
Dan 58:03
Okay, Sunday the third?
Matt 58:06
Uh Saturday race, but it’s it’s not the he’s not in the top level. He’s in the make sure I’m not working.
Joe 58:14
Um let me text my mom right now and see if she can watch the kids. Can you watch the kids October 3rd? This is the first time I’ve heard about the date.
Matt 58:26
So this is not the first time you’ve heard about the date.
Joe 58:29
The date? No, I heard sometime in October. I didn’t know it was October 3rd.
Dan 58:36
This is not the first time.
Joe 58:38
I’m I’m going to we’re going to Baltimore this weekend, so it’s a lot of movement happening in the Greens household.
Dan 58:46
October 3rd, you said Matt?
Matt 58:48
Yeah, they’re pretty sure it’s October 3rd.
Dan 58:50
I’m off.
Matt 58:51
You’re off?
Dan 58:53
I gotta work on the second.
Joe 58:55
So is it is it a night race? Uh Tyler’s asking if it’s a night race.
Matt 59:00
Night race or what? Maybe look at the we’ll have to look at the schedule and see.
Joe 59:04
There we go. Team Garson gang gang. Do do do. You can always go to Garsengolf.com, use code daylight15 and check out, save yourself some money. Also, the Chase and Daylight podcast groups are live on the Chase and Daylight podcast website, right here. You get a quad tour non-tapered. Bring newie. Only 50 made.
Dan 59:29
Bring newie and the plasty boys.
Joe 59:31
Plasty boys.
Matt 59:34
If we don’t start selling them, I’m just gonna give them all to Joe. So there you go. It is an evening race. All right, let’s see. Uh yeah, the focus health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway starts October 3rd at 4 30 p.m.
SPEAKER_08 59:55
Nice.
Matt 59:55
So it is a night race.
Dan 1:00:00
Okay, why am I not on community page? You gotta make your profile public.
SPEAKER_08 1:00:04
Gotta make your profile public. Let me purge the cash.
Joe 1:00:09
Sounded like be real.
SPEAKER_08 1:00:11
Gotta purge the cash.
SPEAKER_01 1:00:13
You did kind of sound like be real, right there.
SPEAKER_04 1:00:17
Pick it, pick it, fire it up, come along.
Matt 1:00:23
So, Paul, like we said earlier, on your profile page, you have to edit your profile. And then there’s two boxes you have to check. Make my public, make my profile public and add me to the community. If you do that, it’ll show up. I promise. Because the other people that have done it, that’s what they did. And they’re there.
Coyote Springs Conditions & Vegas Options
Matt 1:00:51
Uh I guess I didn’t. Yeah, I guess I didn’t. You have to save it. Click it and then save it. Click and save. Click and save. Alright, so what was your thoughts on Coyote? Who didn’t go with us? That was that Jeremy that didn’t go with us when we went? Yeah. Thoughts on Coyote Springs right now.
Jeremy 1:01:13
Uh great. I mean, it’s come a long way since Dan and I played it three weeks ago. I thought. I mean, it’s still not good.
Joe 1:01:23
I don’t think a lot of the trouble areas though that they’re facing are in like in play in many on many holes.
Matt 1:01:30
So yeah, that’s what I was saying. If you’re hitting your drive decently in the fairway and you’re making your greens in regulation, you’re not gonna be a lot of trouble. You’re missing greens, you’re kind of screwed.
Jeremy 1:01:42
I will beg to differ on some of that because the tees that we played.
Matt 1:01:46
Oh, well, you you’re in a different category.
Jeremy 1:01:48
I know, but the tees that we played and Grant was moving them up even more. We the t shots we were hitting were leaving us 50-60 yards into the greens, and that’s where a lot of the crap was. Yeah, which I’m not complaining, but it’s just around the greens is the worst part of the course right now. Once you’re on the green, fantastic, and both fairyways are fantastic. It’s just the areas around it.
Matt 1:02:12
Yeah, you’re on there, Paul. Good job.
Joe 1:02:14
I’m I mean, so you guys played you played up than what you guys typically do, right?
Dan 1:02:20
They had us about five yards behind the white tees on 90% of the t-boxes, yeah.
Jeremy 1:02:26
Like a hundred every hole is like almost a hundred yards shorter.
Joe 1:02:29
Yeah, well, I heard people saying, like, oh, the the diamonds guys are playing like right here, like all day. Yep, yeah, it was it was very different. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Matt 1:02:39
I mean, everybody pretty much played the same T boxes, pretty much. I mean, four was a little bit different, but other than that, it was pretty much everybody was playing the same boxes, yeah.
Jeremy 1:02:50
Yeah, I mean it’ll come along. I mean, they had issues with the fungus or something, but it it’s the greens are great, most of the course is good, like normal. It’s just gonna take some time.
Dan 1:03:01
Yeah, it’s just like yeah, what happens? Yeah, the fungus is no joke. Like that shit can that shit can spread and overpower golf courses. So they’re you know, with them scorching and and scalping the fairways and certain spots that they did, and yeah, having to like re-overseed and all that stuff. That’s kind of just what you have to do. Uh, so it’s unfortunate, but Coyote Springs is awesome and it will be awesome next year for sure.
Matt 1:03:31
Yeah, but it’s I mean, I’m I’m seeing some good things, you know. We’ll we’ll see how Revere is tomorrow. Stallion Mountain, good reports from them. Um, Angel Park is looking really good.
Joe 1:03:40
I want to go play Stallion Mountain. I I love that. I do love that golf course, but it’s just in the past few years, it’s been trash.
Matt 1:03:48
So hopefully this trend continues and legacy can actually get it done, you know. Yeah, yeah, that’ll give us that’ll give us some other viable options besides Boulder Creek and Paiute. Because it’s like the the best courses right now are Boulder Creek, Coyote Springs, and Paiute. And it’s like, can we get something in town that’s good, please? Yeah, so uh Stallion does a good job, Club of Sunrise is doing a good job. If Legacy comes back, um, then yeah, it’s gonna be we’re gonna be uh gonna be pretty good. Rhodes is always in decent shape.
Joe 1:04:25
Yeah, Trey says Stallion is great, and it was my first time, you know. I am on course snobbiness, yeah. Oh, Julian coming from Trey.
Matt 1:04:34
Julian is like, you know how Trey, it’s like it’s hard to impress him. He was he was happy, he really liked Stallion. I’m like, wow, okay.
Joe 1:04:43
I mean, that stallion finish, and like I know I’ve said it before, but that stallion finish, I’d really enjoy that stallion finish. Yeah, you go out there. I’ve only played it one time. Yeah, stallion mountain, kind of springs.
Matt 1:05:01
We got
Trey’s Mid-Am Trip
Matt 1:05:02
anything else?
Joe 1:05:02
Well, yeah. What about Trey playing in the mid am this week? Yeah, Trey’s going to midam. We’re gonna ask he’s already there, he’s already there.
Matt 1:05:11
He’s already in the in it is he’s in Milwaukee. Yeah, he was in Milwaukee. He’s walking around.
Joe 1:05:15
He threw he threw he threw the first pitch at the Brewers game tonight, guys. That would have been sick. Brewers Phillies, big game tonight.
Matt 1:05:26
Aliante’s pretty good. It’s uh pretty good, T D Green. It’s it’s um not what you would think. It’s better than what you would think, but it’s not great. Put it that way. It’s good, it’s not great. But uh for you know what they’re charging out there, it’s it’s a good good round of golf.
Joe 1:05:45
Yeah, no, I it I’m excited for Trey. I he’s good, he’s gonna get to play the Leto. I know, it’s gonna be in Sand Valley. I wish we were out there with him because that’s gonna be special and wish we could cheer him on. We’ll be cheering on by the side from the side. Lines uh sick, dude. So sick. Yeah.
Matt 1:06:04
All right. Surfshack’s in there, got his profile. Bush is in there, got his profile. Paul’s in there. Thanks, everybody. Now we’re now we’re doozing it, as Joe would say.
Joe 1:06:17
Always at a Z, guys. Always at a Z.
Matt 1:06:19
We are getting there. Yeah. So we’ll have Trey on next week to talk all about the Midam. I’m so excited for him because it’s it’s such a fun. All the stuff that goes on outside of the golf is what’s so cool.
Joe 1:06:32
Yeah. You know, because you well, what did you do at um uh Sanctity? It was that senior or no, that was a mid-am, same thing.
Matt 1:06:40
Midam, yeah, yeah, yeah. So you have experience in it too. Yeah, you you arrive as a caddy, as a caddy, not a player. Sorry. Not a player, yeah. As a caddy, uh, but the players arrive, you get your you get your photo shoot, there’s the trophy there, you get a buffet, get your welcome pack, get your, you know, when you’re playing, your and uh you know, you can go practice, you practice rounds, and it’s it’s walking around, seeing everybody, and it’s I mean it’s it’s pretty cool, you know, and everything is USGA logoed flags and signs and tents and Rolex watches everywhere.
Jeremy 1:07:13
It’s almost as good as it gets for an amateur. Like you got US Open, you have the USAM, but this one’s like the working man’s championship because not as many high school and college kids competing with you.
Matt 1:07:25
So there’s there’s two days of stroke play, and then they take the top 32, just like in the regular uh USAM, and then the 32 is is match play. Um, so it’s it can be three, sometimes four days, depending on weather and everything. But uh, it’s a lot of golf, it’s not easy to do. There’s guys that have won it like three or four times in a row, which is crazy impressive because you have to you don’t get well. I think if you win, you get an automatic end to the next years. Um, but if you would you also get an invite to the masters and teal to answer your question, they’ll probably show like some of it the last nine holes of the match play on golf channel.
Joe 1:08:03
Well, you can also follow on golf genius too if you want to, if you want to, right? There’s gonna be golf genius where you can follow Trey. Um, but they’ll show some on golf channel, I’m sure. It won’t be full coverage, but is the mid-am a 2 28 or 3.0?
Matt 1:08:20
What is it for the mid-am?
Jeremy 1:08:21
I think it’s 2.4 or 1.7. It’s it’s low. Yeah, it’s I think it’s a little lower than I can’t remember.
Joe 1:08:29
Yeah, uh 1.7 or 2.7. Well, Trey says top 64. Is top 64 going to be uh goes to match play on TV? Goes to match play, yeah.
Dan 1:08:39
Yeah, 1.4 according to Kevin.
SPEAKER_08 1:08:42
1.4.
Jeremy 1:08:44
Yeah, according to the trade shot 66 to get in and second. 2.4.
Joe 1:08:49
2.4. Yeah, trade shot a 66 at Boulder Creek to get in. Got second, right? I think I think he got second, tied for second. So he’s in Wisconsin. Getting that eating that chill way out in Wisconsin. Getting him curjong, getting a curjung. Eat and killbasa. Scrapple. No, that’s Minnesota.
Dan 1:09:21
Brat worse.
Joe 1:09:23
Uh all the worse.
Matt 1:09:25
According to Chad, if you mean the U.S. mid-amateur, you need a handicap index of 2.4 or lower and amateur status. You also must be at least 25 by September 26th. Yeah, so college kids typically do not play in this.
Dan 1:09:42
Made mine public earlier and filled out all the bag stuff and it all erased.
Matt 1:09:47
It’s there now.
Joe 1:09:49
Also, if Teresa’s still here, if you need a realiter, because we know that you’re moving here, you hit up Trey Las Vegas Golf Realter. If you’re moving to Vegas, hit up Trey Golf Realiter. There it
