What is up, everybody? Welcome to the Chasing Daylight Podcast episode three hundred and ninety-four.
Which is that a good idea for a new logo.
You know how, like, when you know it the ball hits the green and goes doop doot doot, you know, and it goes in the hole. That you know that what if it was on the like the keyboard, and it’s like a ball bounce, then it drops into a hole off the side of the keyboard. Fire. All right. Lips out.
All right. I uh lips out. I am trying to get uh us live on Facebook this evening as well. Um I’m not sure if that’s happening.
I see the check mark. I see the check mark.
Yeah, oh yeah, there we are. We’re there.
I’m not on Facebook, so okay, cool.
So if you’re watching on Facebook this evening, thank you for joining us as well. Uh shout out Zucks. Yeah, shout out Zucks. I hide the vertical on my side so I can see everything. Um, how you guys doing? Uh how’s it been? Joe, I haven’t seen you since uh tournament.
I know I’m dealing, I’m you know, I’m dealing with some internal demons, and you know, we’ll figure it out. And uh, you know, it is what it is, but doing all right. It’s Tuesday.
School off start for Theo.
Yeah, all right, that’s good. Yeah, he’s solid.
Dan came by the other day, so I saw him. Yeah. Uh dropped off Scotty. You’re gonna get that reshafted up, and then Jeremy and I played Revere Sunday afternoon.
Do you play Lex or Concord? Uh Lex is closed, so it
was oh it’s oh they’re they still closed fire, dude.
That I’m telling you, I drive by the the road hole every single day, and it looks gorgeous.
What what exactly are they doing? The road hole is such a crazy thing to call that, though. But really, I know what you mean. I know what you mean, but that’s a crazy like thing to call it. It’s our road hole, Anthem Parkway hole.
Gringo Swave showed up. Shout out Green Go Squat Swabe.
Hey said he’s subscribed, thank you so much, appreciate it. Shout out Gringo Squat Swabe. So, what they’re doing at on the the Lexington course is I don’t know if you remember, Dan, when on hole 15 they replaced the uh bent grass or the uh whatever grass was in the fairway with the Bermuda grass. Um, and that was a test to see how well it did. Uh, they did that last year, and so it got all the uh the fall weather, it got the winter weather, and it got our hot weather, and it did really well. So, what they’ve done this year is they aside from taking out a bunch of bunkers that were deemed unnecessary, uh thankfully forgot, yeah. See I’m gonna on holes one and eighteen and all the par fives. So that’s two, seven, uh, twelve, and sixteen.
They redid the same thing and replaced all the grass.
So well, I know you’re in the know over there, but I really hope you told them to fix those damn tea boxes.
Yeah, it’s it’s like Jeremy and I were talking about it the other day.
The tea boxes are off. They are Donald Ross greens, they are Donald Ross greens.
They are, they fucking are.
Mike Strange turtle back, turtleback teas, turtle boxes don’t belong on tea boxes.
They have the worst tea boxes ever.
They have some sand coming in, they have some new sand coming in. Um, not sure how many holes we’ll get all the new sand on Lex, but uh the new grass is gonna make the conditions because you know, like when we’re playing Lex and it’s because it’s it was always super green, always green, always lush, thick, rough. Um, but the fairways would just get beat up. Um, you know, and not everybody takes six bottles of sand within like homie, let’s go. Shout out, Grandban. Hey, thanks for joining. Thanks for thanks for hanging with us. Um, so this grass is a little bit hardier, uh, a little bit more um a desert grass, if you want to say so. Uh can handle the heat a little bit better, doesn’t require as much water, and uh so we’ll see. But it does go dormant in the winter, so Lex will not be green in the winter.
Lex like dormant, like or firm, like wild wild horse firmy in the winter. I’d be kind of trace crazy, right? Yeah, weird to think about Trace in the house, in between. Thank you, sir, for being here. So we can love to like I want to know more about grass. I saw I something came across my like Instagram feed the other day, and this dude was like, Let me tell you about these grasses. I was like, follow Bob. It was like but something came across my Instagram feed the other day. It was just like it was grass, and he’s like, Let me tell you about these grasses. This is typically around Florida, and like the sprouting, and he’s like, The seeds typically frame from here, and I was like, damn, that’s super interesting. Like, you know, he’s like, This is Zoja full, you know, blah blah blah. I wish I could point out her grass better, like you know, I know Bermuda, and you know, I know when we’re on a bent grass green, you know, like but yeah, Zoja. I know I know because I’m driving through the fairway and my tires are going like this. Um, you know, but no, I would love to learn more about the roots. The roots.
So uh one thing that we found out, we didn’t we played with a couple members from Anthem Country Club. Anthem is closed right now. Oh, really? Yeah, they are redoing a lot of their irrigation and bunkers, so they’re getting uh new sand for the bunkers. Heels in the house, what up? Um, so you have Lexington closed, you have Anthem closed, you have Cirquet like crazy high price. So the Concord course has been getting a ton of play. Well, Legacy’s had irrigation problems, you know. Well, they had to replace in one of their water pumps. Um, so they’ve had they’ve been running discounted rates. Hey Paul, how you doing? How you doing? Saturday, sir. Legacy had issues again. Yeah, they lost another water pump, so they had it released. Holy moly. They uh they were offering discounted rates. Um still um, you know, they lost some of the grains because of it, because the heat and the water, and so well.
I was talking to Gil like two weeks ago, and he was asking me about Legacy. I was like, last time I was there after the first water pump went down, it was it was what is really from November.
Oh, it’ll be fine. Yeah, but the finals will be fine.
It’ll be yeah, he said he said it was he said it was bad. I don’t know if you’ve played there recently, Matt, but yeah, it was bad.
Um played there, I want to say the end of June. And uh, I mean it was dry, it was dry. Yeah, but I mean what was crazy was it was dry, and the greens were brown, but they rolled fantastic.
It was it was crazy, but as long as it gives you a good roll, you know.
Oh, that don’t be like that. How many courses in town do you know that are offering a discounted rate because they know the conditions are not good?
That’s true, Theo. Chill out, bro. Yeah, I know where you live. But that’s true. That that’s that’s a great point. Nobody, you know, when do you ever say, like, hey, discounter rate, punch greens, you know? Yeah, you just show up and then you learn about it, you know. Yeah, yeah.
I mean, at least they’re telling you up front. Yeah, there’s no grass on the green, but it’ll be back. It will be back. Paul, what are you are you talking about? Anthem, not sure which one that was you were talking about.
You might you might have covered this, but they should just shut down for two months. Uh, I mean, I’m assuming that’s legacy, but if they want to, yeah, yeah, there he is.
Yeah, I I guess he hasn’t noticed yet.
He has it, uh yeah. I forgot you got rid of that.
I forgot you got rid of that. Who ended up buying it, or did you donate it?
Joe, tell him what you did.
Let’s see if he notices first. Okay, all right. Yeah, he doesn’t know what’s going on. No, he’s clueless right now.
He has no idea. Busy talking.
There it is. There it is. Uh where my bag, where my bags, Bush. I had a buyer, we had to let
it go. It was time. It was time, it was time. With there was a buyer.
You got a new one. If you I’ll sell you this one for sure. There you go, right there. That’s the the staffer carry bag. I don’t that’ll fly off the shelves. Speaking of golf bags, I reposted a video on Instagram telling everybody how we’re doing the contest. Got some more people involved in it. So I think we’re up to like seven or eight people now. So uh if you’re you know looking for a new bag, and I and I put out a poll asking, you know, what what was the deal with it? You know, was is it you don’t care, which nobody selected. That that made me feel good. Uh too hard to enter, which we had like four people that put that down, which wow, so hard. Uh I don’t need a bag was the most popular choice. And a lot of people messaged me saying, Awesome giveaway, love the bag, but I have so many now I want to downsize. So I get it. I get it. The bag market is not hot right now. So uh thanks to everybody for doing that. We’re gonna give that away on the 400th episode. We’ll do it live on our 400 episode.
Whatnot sellers, everybody there answer that question. Uh take a free bag any day of the week. Any day of the week, I’ll take a free bag. So you might as well enter. I’ll take and I’ll buy it out. I’ll give you a $20 bill if you win. I’m unfollowing and deleting the app.
Yeah, Bush is booking a ticket to Vegas right now to uh bite someone.
Yeah, yeah. That was a good number.
He’s gonna jump in a UPS airplane in the cargo storage and travel here. So Paul never know Bush.
I don’t know all the courses, but discounted rates still wreck the course unless it’s carpath only. Pretty sure that will not happen. Yeah, I mean they they know what’s going on out there, so I trust I trust their uh their judgment on that. Yeah. All right, so uh some top some top stories. Anything you want to get off your chest? Look at this, look at this relic I found, Joe. Is that are you talking about my relic? Yeah, we’re both wearing relics tonight.
We’re rocking we’re rocking relics, rocking relics, rocking relics, new podcast coming soon. Golf gear coming soon, rocking relics golf podcast. It’s a spin-off.
So, do you have anything you guys want to get off your chest? This is a uh open forum.
Feel free to express yourself right now, as far as on as golf goes anything, everything. We talk about so much stuff beyond golf. This is true.
This is true. Um it’s a little off topic. This is a little off topic, okay. Uh uh, uh, just on a personal note, Saint Rose Hospital, or excuse me, dignity health on Saint Rose. Fucking garbage.
Hold on, Dominican? You’re talking about St. Rose?
Yes, that place is fucking trash. Yeah, that place is absolute trash. And if you ever get sick in Las Vegas, do not go there. That’s all yeah.
Hey, then they got a review. They got a good uh they got a good uh birth ward, though. I’ve never had an issue there, but yeah, it’s such is the thing in vague in Nevada. Healthcare sucks in Nevada, for sure.
100%. I had my ankle surgery there, it was decent.
They didn’t let you film it though. So hey, you’re still standing.
Well, I’m not I got photos. I had my doctor.
Photos are cool. I’m glad you said I’m glad you shared those with me.
Dude, how about that video? I sent I only sent it to you.
I know it, I know it was nasty.
Yeah, there was a lot going on. I never realized the inner parts of the arm and how everything works. That was pretty cool.
I should send it to Jeremy. Okay, send it. Joe won’t Joe won’t sit watching at all. No, I don’t like to watch them.
I don’t like watching them. I just feel it. Like, I don’t mind watching it. Oh, I just I just feel it. I don’t want to feel it.
It’s like there’s definitely there’s definitely um a uh eeriness about seeing like a shock value to seeing something like that, you know what I mean?
Yeah, dude, like I watch those things where people fall and like like because I use a skateboard and I know the feeling of things hitting your shin or your legs, or like and I’ll feel that just it just this the sphinxter, the sphinx thing just I just feel like a little quick pulse, bah bah bah it’s like snaps off.
Oh we’ll get any live reactor from James.
It’s quick, but pulling it up here. Let’s let’s go full bucket head covered behind me.
Bush is mad. Bush is so mad that is mad that his bag is gone.
Yeah, I don’t blame Matt for getting rid of it though. Man, that was a that’s a hard number to say no to. I get I get yeah, wow. Oh, we looking live.
I’ve never seen a gaping wound pulsating before, right?
That’s yeah, that’s what your ligaments and tendons do. It’s beautiful.
Real quick, it’s not a bucket head cover, Bush, it is a barrel head cover, first of all. We’ll just throw that out there.
So it’s a wound that’s pulsating like uh like alien wound it doesn’t quite cover forearm got slashed. It’s like from the wrist down to here. Oh, so you’re seeing like tendons?
Oh, you’re seeing everything.
Yeah, you cut those tendons all the way down to the I would like I’ll see that and I’ll automatically picture like oh I’ll be walking down the stairs, and there was a screw loose, and it just I can it happened, it happened to me, it can happen to me, and I just feel I don’t know how he didn’t keep his arm.
I that’s amazing. That’s a medical miracle.
Yeah, holy Mary. Hey, look at that a Facebook comment.
That’s from me. No, is it okay?
I thought you were on Facebook. No, I’m commenting as Chase. Oh, you’re commenting as CDP and it showed up in the chat. Oh, never mind.
I got excited for not no dude. If you guys have been around, the Facebook comments get really crazy.
Yes, T Lou. That is the video with the Murphy bed.
Yep. Shout out T L T Lou’s into the gore.
All right, got another person we can share with. Hey, let us know if that’s okay, though.
The reason we haven’t done Facebook in a long time is because there was a guy that was saying some wild stuff and we left it. Yeah, I forget. I forget. We should go back and try and find out what episode that was because it was funny until it got kind of creepy.
It it it did get a little stalkish, got a little got a little weird.
Is that the one where you analyzed Joe and said he looks like someone that would sit in their car and drink milk or something? Yes, yeah, yes, that’s yeah.
He was he was coming at us, yeah, and his profile picture was even weirder, too. Yeah, that’s right.
You were a milk drinker, yeah.
milk drinker. That’s right.
So Jeremy, Jeremy, and I are waiting to hit the course. Uh, did a little warm-up, did some putting, and we’re waiting for our group to go. And the starter, you know, at Concord, you go down the hill from the starter, uh little patio there, and the starter looks at our cart and he goes, Okay, you’re 11. All right, all right, you’re with my uncle and the girl he’s dating, they’re ahead of you.
Uncle and the girl he’s dating.
You’re playing with my uncle and the girl he’s dating. That’s funny.
That’s Don and Phyllis. They were pretty sure they were married, though. I think that was a joke.
I think he was maybe messing with I don’t know. What’s his name? Uh, yeah, so that was that was bless Phyllis’s heart. She had hip surgery and heart surgery, and she was still out there giving it everything she had to hit that ball about 30 yards. It was awesome.
I mean, it is a retirement community. There was one violation, and we we saw the the text in the in the group chat.
There was that stunning violation.
Well happened. Why don’t you tell it?
Yeah, there was a classic Scotty Cameron Newport in the guy’s bag, just clanking around all the other clubs, no head cover, three ball in it. I it’s a meat, it’s amazing. That’s the first thing I saw when we pulled up. It’s like my eyes were drawn to it, and I just couldn’t.
I thought he was talking about the like the cart in front of the group that was on the T. We were waiting. I was like, dude, you got eagle eyes. He’s like, No, because I wasn’t expecting it.
This was the group you these were the other people you’re playing with, yes.
Yep, yeah, this raw dog and a Scotty. That’s natural.
Oh, yeah, that team was raw dog, all natural. Just it’s all and it was that’s a sick putter. I mean, classic Scotties are just like, yep, in my opinion, I’ve said it many times, way better than the new ones, but like just to see that thing just clanking around, getting dinged up, it’s terrible. He putted really well with it, though.
Yeah, he did. He had a yeah, he he putted pretty good. Yeah, that was a little disrespectful. Like, yeah, that thing was that thing was clanging around, and she had she had a Kirkland putter and a Cleveland putter in her bags. Yep, and it’s funny they both had the little pick-me-up thing on the end of their club, you know, to put the ball but they’re gonna be like it though.
It was getting little arguments because she couldn’t hear him very well, and he kept trying to give her like directions and help. I can’t hear you. Your ball fell off the T.
Did you ask them do they play there often or no?
Or were they playing Anthem?
They’re anthem, but it’s close. Oh, okay.
Yeah, I think he’s he’s the type, he’s one of the the type of old guy that’s taken a lot of people’s money. He was he was a gamer back in his day. Yeah, he hits it about 150 yards down the middle of the fairway. Perfect. Like every time that’s all you need. Yeah, no practice swings, just gets up, hits the ball, needs help finding a light line.
Did he give you old older older Sean Wood vibes? That’s what I’m picturing. Like fast, fast.
Not that fast. Not that fast.
Yeah, you’re from New York. Both of them from New York. Yeah, he was from No knows a good bagel.
Yeah. Knows a good bagel.
Knows a good bagel. I’m sure he knows a good bagel.
Uh yeah. But then they they only played the front nine, and there was we started behind a group that played the back first, and so we got to 10. We played in two and a half hours on the front, and then played in an hour and 20 on the back because we just flew around. Hey Paul, thank you so much. See you Saturday out at National. Have a good evening. So much going on. Yeah. Yeah, I got another Grint event. Uh, Jackson said to me today, I’m paired with him. I want to play. And he said that he’s heard that National’s in pretty rough shape. So we’ll see.
Fucking a bush. You’ll go right here. I’ll put you right here. I’ll get my homie Matt. We’ll move him. We’ll find another home for him. And you could have that whole size shelf right there.
Whatever hitting or missing greens is.
No, I I found I found this. I was going through uh my section of the closet that uh shirts that like purge, but I’m like, all right, I’m gonna hold on to these because one day I’ll be able to wear these again. And I found this one and I found the Waffle House hitting green shirt. Oh wow, yeah, that’s closet. Because I wanted to wear this. Uh this is great.
Yeah, I don’t I don’t even have one.
Is it BBGB? Yeah, that’s an old BBGB.
Oh yeah. My BBGB, my BG BBGB is like right here. It goes to like the collar, and the print is like he got a he got a messed up.
It’s like a BBG. It’s like circle ties are coming in. Well, it’s funny because it’s a front print.
And I told Joe, I said, I never did a front, large front print. I they were all like this with this on the back. So he got he got a fucked up print. Didn’t know.
That’s fine. What up, Beach Girl? Thanks for tuning in. Shout out Printful. Yeah, Printful will be doing that to you.
When is Teresa moving to Vegas?
She doesn’t know for sure yet. I don’t think. If Teresa’s still here, you can correct me if I’m wrong, but I I don’t know. But she seems like it’s imminent, so I don’t know.
But make sure you like, hey, there we go. Yeah, that’s that thank you for being respectful. Yeah. Make sure you hit that. Like and subscribe. Dude, speaking of Gar like Garson, we love him. But the whole whatnot scene with Garson, it’s like I got a text from somebody. I got a text from somebody, and they’re like, is I mean, sorry, I’m not to toot my horn or I’m tooting the podcast horn. I was the first one to sell him. Shout out to his DI podcast. Because Matt knows Andrew. Um, but I got a text from somebody, and they’re like, like, Garson’s blowing up the market, like, there’s too many people selling it now. But that’s because they’re fucking good. Yeah, and every and and they’re in a business, fucking do it, you know, and everybody needs deserves to have a Garson on their putter. So it’s funny how you can get it.
It’s funny as I’ve been popping back in the shows a little bit here and there the last couple weeks, and uh it’s funny every time that there’s a Garson grip being sold in the comments. There’s about 10 shout out Gars, people people tagging at hitting green. Oh, that’s awesome! Yeah, it’s uh I just shake my head and laugh, man. That’s funny.
Shout out Garson. I mean, it’s it’s wild. I mean, like it’s so interesting. I wish I could, I wish I had time to an inventory to run more because like a lot of you, like a lot of even my sayings, you know, just are said, you know. You write a dictionary on whatnot. I wish I remembered that that St. Ives apricot scrub one that I said. I think you were you were in my group. Yep. I wish I remember that one. That was a good one. I had a new one tonight, I think I said, but I forgot what it was already. But you know, I had to keep a little notebook, just write them down.
What the fuck were we talking about?
I don’t know. I was saying like I said something like you could scrub this with a you know, keep it it’s rough around the edges, but you could use some apricot scrubs, St. Ives Boys, or something like that. Something like that.
All right, so some of the top stories in the golf space that are going on right now. Uh Scotty Scheffler dominated the FedEx Cup this past weekend, had a huge uh what is it, eight-stroke victory that he had? Yeah, he killed him. He just lit the place on fire. Uh see Liv’s golf financial restructuring and season finale shakeup because they decided I guess we’ll tell everybody now that yeah, that’s not happening. Uh John Rom, there’s reports coming out that he is going to get reinstated, which we can talk about that because that’s kind of interesting. Um, Jordan Spieth, Harry Hall, a couple other people didn’t make it on to this next event. And uh Bryson D.Chambeau and Justin Rose are headlining the 2026 Ned Bank Field, which is in uh South Africa, scary player at Sunset.
Yeah, someone that you see all the wildlife, yeah.
Like they’re playing Rocco, that one too. Uh so uh Rom. This is gonna this is this is gonna be a if it happens, which I I mean he needs to be playing on the PGA tour. He’s gonna come back, it’s gonna happen. It’s gonna happen. There’s no way did you hear about the fine he might have to pay? 25 million?
Yeah, broken too. I hear Terrell Hatton is also coming.
Yeah, they’re trying to negotiate that. It’s gonna happen, and and once once they announce that, dude, Liv is seriously toast. Seriously toast, because that’s you got your back to back to back, whatever.
What about what kind of the mom, though, man? That guy is on the mom, yeah.
I’m sure they’re all queued up, honestly.
He needs to get his ass back on tour, too.
Abrupt only paid five. Yeah, yeah.
I heard something I heard something about like there was like a window that you had to like, what’s you had to tell them by like March or April that you were done. Yeah, there was or something like that.
And then they had that where it was if you’ve won a major going back to the one after Phil won, because they didn’t want to include Phil. Yeah.
Um Phil’s at Phil’s done. He’s tough.
Yeah, he’s he’s he’s on an island somewhere.
We’ll probably never see him on an on another Valhalla.
Phil’s gonna pop up in like 15 years, he’s gonna be 400 pounds at the Masters showing up for the Masters dinner.
Valhalla, my friend. CS Valhalla. Anybody who disappears, go to Valhalla, baby.
That was good. Um, but it there’s gonna be a lot of controversy around it, and it uh rightfully so, I guess. I don’t know. The I mean they tried, they tried to break something new and do something different, and you know, I’m I’ll get called a PGA tour fanboy. Uh, I just want to see the best players playing together, you know, against each other. Um I wasn’t a I the live concept was interesting, but it just did not hit.
It’s just not the product itself sucks.
Yeah, it’s just not how we watch golf competitions. Um, they tried to be different, and it just didn’t work, it just didn’t work. So, yeah, hey, he got his nut, he left, he made a bunch of money.
Maybe, maybe, yeah, because he hasn’t even been paid, but he’s got yeah, yeah.
Um, you know, I it did kind of force the PGA tour’s hands. We you know, we do got a little bit bigger purses now, PJ Tour, which is great. You know, it did help, it did help kickstart some shit. Um, I’m not sure I’m a big fan of all these tier stuff that they’re gonna do this year now. I I don’t know if that’s direct, you know, directly a result from Liv’s existence, but um, they definitely made some changes and and brought some competition that kind of you know kicked the PJ Tour in the ass a little bit. So for whatever Liv was, even though I wasn’t a huge fan, you know, I’m kind of thankful a little bit in a little way that you know, for the good changes that happen on the PJ Tour because of it.
I do think, I mean, even if you think about like the world and like business and like AI is coming, right? And just can just think about like AI being live, you know, and it forces a business to think a little bit differently and find a way to exist past that you know, crescendo, if you will, to where it hit and then they were trailing. So I I think I mean Jay Monahan is no longer around, which I think he sucked personally, like he handled that entire situation terribly. Uh, we got a new commissioner in the house, and you know, try some shit, try some things. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, but at least you’re thinking into the future and trying to figure out ways to keep the product up to date with the world, you know, like golf itself is an old-timer sport, but you know, you gotta not uh you got a lot of newcomers to the game and they’re younger, you know. So if you say you want to grow the game and you’re growing the game, like you gotta change a bit.
So I’m if they can fix the commercials, because this is the the biggest problem, in my opinion, right now, is like the playing through stuff is is trash. I you know, there’s way, way, way too many commercials, and what these people are paying to get on the air, they need to go, okay. We’ve got 10 of you that want to do the playing through. How about one of you instead of 10 of you pay that and we just add you know, a 20-second spot on with the other commercial break? The playing through stuff just I mean, it makes it so painful to watch.
I I don’t mind the playing through stuff that much, but if I was a brand, such as High Noon, um Hitting Greens, and we had like a CEO, like Rolex, it’s always Rolex, right? It’s always Rolex, or it’s Cadillac or Cadillac, or you have a bunch of 20-year-olds that are playing the game now.
You should probably pay big money to get that spot, you know what I mean. How many 20-year-olds do you know that can afford a Rolex that aren’t like influencers or something that are playing exactly? That’s like if I was a brand, because it is probably besides pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the world, and everybody plays it, and everybody loves it, and everybody gets addicted to it. Like, if if you’re a brand and you think about it, like that’s that’s good dollars to spend on advertising. I don’t mind the playing through that much. Typically, they do it in areas where it’s like eh, okay, you know.
Yeah, I I hate though when because I I like hearing the crowd reaction to putts. Oh, absolutely, yeah. Like that. And so when you got, you know, we because uh last last week when Harry was playing pretty well, he got a little bit of TV time, and so he’s he’s lining up this putt, he’s got like an 18-foot putt for Birdie, and they go to commercial break, and or they go to uh playing through, and the screen gets minimized, and you see him make the putt, and he walks off. There’s no there’s no commentary on it, there’s no stats on it, there’s no nothing, you know, that they’re talking about regarding that section, but that new Cadillac sure looks good.
Well, they would never do that during Tiger, Brooks, Rom, Rory.
Oh, no, no, no, no, it’s you know, it’s but also you know, it’s it’s kind of crappy for somebody like Harry in that situation where any TV time you get is gold, you know, and then you you get this opportunity and you get shut out by a orange julius commercial, dude.
Shout out orange julius. Hell yeah.
I want an orange julius. I was thinking about orange julius today.
Orange Julius hits do you know what I saw? I Radio Shack is making a comeback, dude.
I used to Radio Shack was my second job. Shout out Radio Shack.
They’re making a comeback. I saw advertisements for them today for performance next tiles for jump drives and storage uh uh raid files. I mean, just wow Radio Shack labeled stuff that I’m like, good for them. Hell yeah, bring back all the numbers, man.
Dude, bring back all the ads that you would get from Radio Shack, they had so much stuff on it, it was insane. Like, you couldn’t even dude the Black Friday sales of Radio Shack were good.
I just remember circling for Christmas. I want the 781 giant kit.
I remember somebody coming in with like a resistor, like you know, a little diode, and they’re like, I need this. I’m like, fuck, gotta match, go in through all the drawers and match the colors up and the amberage, and like I’m like just picking little pieces, like I’m doing operations.
I don’t know, you playing micro which one you think it is, and let me know.
Yeah, I I think it’s this one. Here you go.
Did you did you, Joe, ever go into Sandy’s TV repair and electronics? It was down by Odyssey Records. No, no, you sold vacuum tubes. That’s how much he had in there. It was insane.
Now all we got is key sub key subs closest. You’re gonna get to it. Radio Shack I did love everything.
Radio Shack was uh I mean that’s where you went for a new phone. Radio Shack, yeah.
Nextel paid the biggest, like the biggest spiff. Nextel was the biggest spiff, but it took you two hours to sell the phone because the entire like like filling shit out is all paper. You had to write your name, and then you had to call them, and they’re like, Hey, no, that’s not matching up. Took two hours to sell a next t. Oh, yeah, but sprint, you know, you did it online and you’re like boom, boom, boom. Okay, 20 bucks, but but like a next tele phone, it it you would get like a hundred and fifty dollar bonus. You sold a nextel. Wow, I did it one time and they were all fucked up. They came back like three days later, like this fucked up.
Like the selling point on phones back then was you could play snake, yeah, yeah, yeah. And polyphonic ringtones.
Uh yeah, Jackson Quaven, uh, he’s gonna die.
Jackson’s Quaven’s already winning, that’s crazy.
He’s a stick. He’s a stick.
So, Dan, I think if you were talking about how they’re doing the two tiers in 2028, I think if if they do this right and they take these two tours and start playing at places that we want to see them playing at, yeah, absolutely, and get off the schneid of playing the same courses every year, um, you know, locking in 30-year contracts for courses and give some variety, you know, to there’s this new golden age of architecture that’s going on in golf um that is amazing and and none of it’s getting showcased. Yeah, Gil Hance is like the you know, because he did the Olympics and the ghost. Yeah, um, but there’s I mean, there’s so much good stuff going on that you know, like Landman, you know, what’s going on in Landman? It’s yeah, for sure.
There’s a question about that. Yeah, so this Joe, maybe this is more for you. It seems that the new courses that are being built are not hard enough for what the PGA tour would play. Or they don’t, I don’t know. I just feel like the yeah, I agree with you. Yeah, but they tear a place like landman up, in my opinion.
But I don’t think that matters at the end of the day.
Like, I don’t yeah, I don’t think so either. I just wonder if that’s why, or I mean it could just be relationships they already have with courses and sparks.
I I think I feel like landman, it’s the infrastructure, like that’s you know, like there’s that was just an example of a course, but but you know what I mean. But I I I don’t think I don’t think people care if they’re 25 under par or 30 under par. I I I mean everybody plays the same golf course, the field’s playing the same golf course. Um, but yeah, I would love to see people like San Valley. I mean, I I they would definitely eat San Valley up for sure or wherever you want to throw them, but the infrastructure is the hard part because everything’s in the middle of nowhere now, because the whole land issue, like like old Barnwell’s close to Aiken, right? Like, but do you really want your players like driving an hour or 45 minutes to get there in the morning and then they gotta leave earlier? And like for landman, like they’d have to stay in Sioux Sioux City Falls, which is a real city, um, and drive down dirt roads, you know, and it takes so I I think that’s the whole thing. It’s like but I would love to see some courses like go back to like their old days and like rip it up and let Gil Hans, Tom Doak, whoever it is, like rip it up and make it make it what it was back in the back in the day and make it you know rugged because a lot of these courses were rugged, and that’s the whole style that’s coming coming back. Like I even read an article the other day where Pete Dyes uh next course that Kohler was gonna be like a rugged, natural golf course, and there was issues with the city and everything, but like that’s the style nowadays, that’s where people want to play, you know. And I think I’m I mean, no joke, Bandon probably set that off. And after Bandon came along, it kicked off a bunch of other places that
are doing the same thing. It’s shout out Bandon.
Um, you want some some insider info on the Heartland event that took place at Landman? Sure, I didn’t even see anything from it. So uh I have a friend who played in it. I will keep his name anonymous just because I didn’t tell him I was gonna do this. Um, so I asked him, How’d you play so far? He said, Not great. They had it playing so hard, it was so fast in the fairways, and one foot off the fairway was a lost ball. I shot like four over, three over, and was one under through 14 today, but we left to catch a flight. He said, even the designer said the areas of the fairway are not what he wanted right now, they need to thin it out. Like the par five on the back number nine, on the back nine, number fifteen. I landed two feet right of the bunker that’s on the left half of the fairway and lost the ball. I said that green is retarded, too. What a hole. The par five uh fifteenth, the the last big goes up the hill. The the green that does this.
Oh, is that the one that’s yeah, that’s the one we go over the over the hill and the ball disappears over the over the ridge and then it pops out. Okay.
There’s like 40 plus yards of fairway right of where my ball landed in the fairway. Mickey Mouse type shit out there right now. If it wasn’t so absurdly fast in the fairways and so penal right off them, I’d like it a lot more. That fairway, the way it is right now, is 20-yard wide landing spot for me, left of the bunker, even though it’s like 80 yards wide. He said he landed on the green in two one round and just trickled back off, and he had a 74-yard wedge shot.
So I think a lot of it too is is course setup. Like, I I don’t know if you guys saw that Friday uh post about Marion, you know, which the AM was played at, and 18, just everything feeding into the same spot. Yep, but uh they were talking about like it’s course setup, you know, like grow that, grow, grow the grass out a little more, you know, don’t make the greens as firm. It’s it’s a lot of course setup, exactly like that. Like, yeah, a player could eat land mana, but if it’s that ridiculous and you hit it in the right spot, it’s it it becomes where you’re hitting a good shot and you’re getting penalized for it. And it’s like, you know, and if if it’s super easy, they could they can make it as hard as they want, too, you know.
Thanks, Bush. I just saw the order come through.
Finally fucking did it. This guy. Send him send him this ri we’re gonna send him this Riviera keychain too. Nice.
I got an Al Phillips uh key tag.
Cynthia ordered. We’ll let you in on the joke. It’s still there. No, nobody stole your bag, bro. It’s we did it on purpose because we knew we were gonna get our we knew we we knew you were gonna comment. So shout out ambush. Shout out EPS.
Oh shout out the judge. Shout out to Judge.
Yeah. All right. So hey, we didn’t talk about this. Uh so Jeremy and I were playing match play. And he beat it.
Yeah. He beat the only reason he brings it up is because he beat you, right? He beat me.
Absolutely. He outplayed me. I didn’t lose it. He he beat me.
That’s why he’s bringing it up. The putter. I I’ve been working ever since uh Sienna. I’ve been like, oh god, I can’t imagine the amount of time I’ve spent in the backyard on the vertex software and with the different putters, and just going back and forth trying to get dialed in. And uh yeah, it it showed.
It showed at uh sanchise the sanchise in the house in the house. I think sanchise in the house. Fast greens or tall fairway rough, definitely fast greens, fast greens, fast greens fast greens 100%.
Hey Tefasian in the house. What up, Dan? What just a Tefasian? Hey, you know what? Dan, is your address still the same from when you joined the VGN? Because if so, I’ll just box this stuff up and and ship it out to you. That way it can get out of here. I still have your stuff. So send me a message, let me know. We got a collab coming up. Chasing Daylight losing at Rossbridge. I want to miss it. As long as I don’t have the nematodes. Uh fast. Yeah, fast. Yeah, fast greens. All right, cool. I’ll get that. I’ll try to get that out tomorrow. Coolio. Joe, you got anything that you want to get off your chest?
Seems like you’re you got a little I could say, I mean, I can say a lot of things. I mean, you know, just depends how deep we want to get. I don’t know. But uh fiending, you know, being a dad, trying to play golf, can’t play golf. Uh I feel like I don’t even play golf anymore. You don’t?
Uh I’m not a dad, and I’m the same way, Joe.
It’s uh it’s an identity crisis kind of situation happening, and in you know, and it’s you need to put an N in front of your HG, not hit. Yeah, I know it’s it’s tough, man.
Well, Dan, what did we calculate the other day? How long have you been out playing?
Uh since July 3rd was my last round, so that’s what six weeks.
Six weeks, and I told him I said I was back from knee surgery faster than you’ve been not playing golf.
Yeah, yeah. And it also the thing is, I mean, I know Dan’s the whole thing is work, but you know, like my whole my work stack is crazy coming up.
Like we had just underwent underwent renovation, and people want to come, and it’s like, when am I gonna find the opportunities to like do what I love to do for you know, like my mental health and my escape, and it’s like you know, like hey Phil, so next time we schedule a uh uh an outing, I’m sure Joe won’t be able to make it, and then we’ll hit you up.
Damn, way to way to pile it on.
Oh no, I feel it’s so hot, I don’t even want to be outside hot.
Last week it was kind of nice because you know, with the storms and but it was crazy weather out there. I mean, there was so much debris on Concord. I mean, you could just see where the water, the rivers were flowing through from that storm that came through. That hail, I mean, that Jesus Christ, I couldn’t believe how much it hailed at my house.
Those were golf ball-sized hails, they were pretty beefy.
And uh, let’s see here, I can bring one up. Show everybody because it it it shocked me. I we we were surprised at how much came down.
No judgment from the midwesterners watching. Oh, yeah, yeah.
That’s that’s crazy. Yeah, that’s a good size there.
Yeah, that’s like that’ll that’ll put a ding in the car.
I mean, that that’s basic, that’s basically like
Big Bear Lake, Big Bear, because you’re like way far outside Las Vegas, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, so I got I got one more thing, Joe. I want to mention and talk to you about, and then also with with Bush and the rest of the some other sellers that are might be in the chat still, is this whole collector ball bullshit? Yes, yes, yes, what say that again? The whole what collector golf balls. So, like, there’s these sellers of whatnot that are selling these golf balls that are absolute trash and they’re getting them for like 30 bucks and more. I’ve seen one guy trying to sell a yellow vice for like 1500. What it’s like all of a sudden they’re saying, like, these are collector balls, collectors balls. Who the fuck said that that was a collector ball? Which idiot started this? You know, like I don’t, I’ll never understand it.
I that’s a real thing going on.
Yeah, they’re selling these weird logo balls and weird colored balls, and it’s it’s just it’s weird, it is freaking weird, and I don’t know. I mean, it makes where this came from in the golf space.
I think it’s I mean, you know, take five started selling those galaxy balls or whatever they were. The moon balls, yeah. It’s so it probably started from the moon balls, but it’s like I think a lot of people thank you, Thaddeus. What’s up, Daddy? Shut up, Ski Tech. Ski Tech, shut up, Ski Tech. I think a lot of like it’s just you’re like prank, yeah, dude.
Yeah, that’s like that’s like a 40 ball and whatnot.
Yeah, and that’s not a 40 ball. Yeah, it’s weird. No, it’s not a 40 ball. No, and it’s like I got all these golf balls, I got all these golf balls, you know, on my wall, and I got boxes. Look at this. Look at this. I got a collagen protein thing full of golf balls, full of golf collagen balls in there.
That’s like the weirdest thing to store golf balls in.
Well, I ran out of shelf space, and there’s still more.
You can still draw a golf ball.
Let’s get this guy a new golf ball rack.
These are all golf courses, these are all golf courses I’ve played.
You know, a little collagen, just give it a lick before you tee off.
You might have $25,000 worth of golf balls in that car.
25th anniversary of banding. I got a golden knights, I got you know. Oh, this is not logo.
It’s going through his retirement right now.
I can put that in the back. If you did not know, though, if you did not know, here’s one. If you did not know, uh you know. Oh, that’s right. You played page right. You don’t even have it on the wall. No, because I ran out of space. That’s mostly all Vegas. Uh Vegas.
That I can I was gonna say, I can’t believe you have the ditch up there, not Beth Page black.
Yeah, yeah. I got I do have I’ve never played two wild horse balls, but Beth Page is in a collagen can. I’ve never played Black Mountain, but Black Mountain is up there.
My break first against policy. That’s against policy, sir.
Hey, I did not buy it from them, I found it and it’s up there, you know. Rest in peace. And I never got a shot. I did have a Badlands ball, but I gave it to a kid on a golf course. How about that one? I have no Badlands logo ball. I was like, here you go, kid. Boom, shout out to Ingreens someday. Let me sign it for you.
No, it was just a cold Tot Hill Farms logo is better than Badlands ever was.
Yeah, but the whole golf ball, the whole golf ball situation on there is crazy. Like it’s nuts. Like, I kind of understand like the Scotty Cameron balls because you have to go to the gallery and lone ball, and you have to you have to go on the right day. I’ve been in the gallery twice this year, no golf balls. So I understand why Scotty Cameron, because people are collectors of Scotty Cameron, and I feel like somebody’s trying to make like vice golf golf balls like collectible. I I mean, seriously, I would never, I would never spend more than five dollars on a golf ball if I really maybe you know, ten dollars, maybe if I really needed it.
Good for the people selling them because you’re making a ridiculous amount of money and you’re duping people into buying your garbage. I just feel bad too for the sellers or for the buyers that actually get duped by this shit, and they think that’s up that’s gonna be worth something someday. That’s like the amount of money you pay for that. Go get a cooperative flag card or a you know, or fucking one of one Otani or some shit. You’re wasting your money.
There’s no fucking PSP 10 for golf balls. Yeah, and if it’s if it’s a vice golf ball that dropped on their website, I mean, come on.
What do you got there, Matt? Oh, Matt’s frozen.
Oh, that oh, he’s frozen less. Oh, yes, he’s frozen. No, no, still frozen. It’s a tiger ball from Shadow Creek. I already know.
Oh wow, what a what a tell the story out of the scales right there. Just look to be brought this. Tell the story, damn, tell the story, shot down your friend, bro.
So I’m standing on the 15th T watching Freddie Couples at Las Vegas National.
Bush is absolutely correct. That that’s what it is right now. Uh it’s the trend going on right now, and everybody’s gonna chase it. Yeah, that’s a people aren’t gonna be stuck with all this shit, and you know, that’s why you just imagine paying that much for a vice golf ball. Insane. Well, one even no, even if it’s one went for I texted you guys, one went for like 450 bucks the other day.
Even if it is limited, let’s say there was only 12 ever made, it’s not worth it. It’s not, it’s a fucking golf ball.
It’s like when people were making like NFCs and all that, and people are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, and now no, that’ll come back. That will come back, it’s going to, but like, see, I don’t even know what this golf ball is, right?
What is it? The Belt Railway Company of Chicago. No clue. That’s in Chicago, I think.
Probably. I’m gonna go with the Chicago Beltway Company. What do you got that in there for?
I don’t know. I have no idea where this came from. I’ve lost track. I probably have like come on, Beds. Help the guy out. That’s not a golf course, so like I don’t know why that’s in there.
Dan, did you put your credit card back in the app?
It’s straight back, it’s straight to my bank account now.
Oh, cutting out the middleman, yeah.
Fuck all that interest. Take my money straight up.
It’s it’s so this is the whole thing. There’s like honeymoon, it’s like a honeymoon season, you know, where you go through it and you’re like, oh, but you develop these relationships with people, you know, and you’re like, Oh, that’s the homie, you know, I’ll go watch because watching is just as dope as supporting or buying, you know, or commenting, but people feel like they gotta just buy to support uh the somebody that they’ve created a connection with. It’s it’s brilliant for sure. It’s you know, but you know, keeping it real has never gone wrong unless it’s gone wrong. Shout out to Chappelle.
One that I have. Yeah, yeah.
Crazy worth Oh, yeah. Dude, remember when Volvic used to do those colors? I guarantee Matt, let’s sell your tiger ball. You can tell the story now, and you can tell it, you can tell it and hide it like yeah, and then we’ll get a bunch of money for it.
Uh but it but most that’s the whole thing, bro.
Money is not the end game, you know, golf is the end game, and like I’ve always said, I’ve always used it to bring people here so we can talk golf because golf is the best game ever, and we meet people from other parts of the country, and we we can you know, if I go to if I go to Kentucky, I know somebody in Kentucky. If I go to Ross Bridge, I’m gonna hit up the homie that’s in Texas, you know what I mean?
I’m gonna hit up ambush. Get it. I’m just joking with you, but you know, that’s the thing. Yeah, but that’s the thing, man. Right there.
Run it. Your network, your network is your net worth. I mean, age old, age old Sam. And it’s a good one. It’s a good one, and it’s true.
All right, anything else we need to chat about that’s going on in the golf space. It’s got your gears a grinding.
Gears are grinding, gears are grinding.
It’s the overseas season for uh Vegas coming up here. Adam was just uh Adam Simpson. Shout out, Adam Simpson. He was just sharing.
Adam Simpson, where was he at?
One more thing. Yeah, oh yeah, go ahead. One more thing. Gotta air this out too. Another grievance. Why the fuck does Japan get all cool as shit?
Right? That’s true. Like Callaway is baby in America. Can we get some cool America?
Can we get the best irons? All I mean, all this, all these fucking sick ass clubs, Japan only, Japan release only. God damn, man. Sucks. And
you gotta wait a year for it to come over here, stateside, you know.
All right. So here’s here is the overseeding schedule that was sent to me. Angel Park, uh, the palm course is closed August 24th through September 3rd. Mountain course is closed September 7th through the 17th. Valley High, there is no overseed. Boulder Creek, there is no overseed. Chimera is closed September 8th through the 23rd. Wow, that’s a long time for them. Uh, no overseed at Coyote Springs. Desert Willow is closed September 21st for greens and tea aeration. Uh Las Vegas National is closed September 8th through the 26th. Paiute, snow is closed September 8th through the 13th. Then Wolf is closed September 13th through the 20th, and sun is closed September 21st through the 27th. They rotate those. Uh Red Rock, no overseed. I’m sorry, Arroyo, no overseed. Reflection Bay, no overseed. Uh Lexington is closed at Revere. It is ready scheduled, or that it is scheduled to open on September 21st. Concord closes September 21st to October 4th.
This guy says grown stupid ad man, by the way, with the name of Pokemon Boy. Jesus Christ, bro. Maybe you should sit this one out, kid.
I mean, his name ends with boy. Boy. Pokemon. What a homie bitch.
Rhodes Ranch is closed from September 8th to the 25th. Sir Ket is closed August 23rd through September 19th. Oh, a month. Wow. Uh Stallion has no overseas. TBC Vegas August 24th through September 9th. Canyon Gate is a private courses now. Canyon Gate September 14th through October 8th. Dragon Ridge September 8th through October 3rd. Las Vegas Country Club closed all of September. Red Rock Country Club closes September 8th through the 28th. So High is closed right now. It opens back up October 7th. South Shore is overseeding September 14th through the 3rd. Spanish Trail closed September 21st through October 14th. And TPC Summerlin has no overseed.
So all I heard was Boulder Creek’s going to be open. So that’s probably pretty much what I think. All I heard is a lot of golf courses I want to play.
Yep. I want to play Summer.
Summerlin is such a good golf course if you if you walk it. Summerlin is way better if you walk that golf course.
I’ve walked it a ton watching.
Yeah, it’s it’s such a better golf course. Yeah. Cyrus, he’s gonna be in China for the next 47 months, but maybe no, he said he’s he said he’s here for a while.
Yeah, travels, but uh yeah, I was watching him for a little bit.
I just texted him after I was like, dude, I rated you. He’s like, Oh, sorry, I didn’t see that.
Yeah, I mean that happened with Brian too. Brian, uh Brian Golf and Michelle, they rated, they’re like, what is going on? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So funny. So funny. Yeah. All right. So I think that’s that is it. Are we done? Are we good? We got everything. You feel you feel fresh?
Oh, didn’t some oh I I would love to touch on this. I don’t know. Is this Karabas? I’m assuming this is Carabas. This I’m curious.
I don’t know who this is. It’s Stephen Carbajal. Yeah, I know. He’s got it, he’s got a zip code with one letter or one number missing. I get that. Maybe it’s a but I’m curious on your guys’ social because I think I’ve said it many times. I think I’ve said it many times, but what do you guys think about that?
I know Jeremy, you’re a big sky. If they don’t do it, somebody else is gonna do it. I am a I am a I don’t care for anything they make. Okay, T Lu said, yeah, that’s Carapas. Okay, I figured. Okay.
We have a tournament there in September, so it’d be great to get some practice rounds. I haven’t been to Coyote in so long.
So, yeah, how do you guys feel about swag?
Seriously, like there’s some nice stuff that they make, and sometimes I’d look at it and just laugh.
Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit.
I have right right there. I’ve got a a uh neon drip three driver fairway hybrid sealed up, just sitting. I think that one day I’ll blow the dust off it and go, oh Joe, sell this.
I think hatch quality is better than swag. Um, but also too, hatch sometimes comes out with some weird, just like they do some weird stuff too.
Like Dormy, Dormy makes some incredible stuff, but they’re really it’s different.
Yeah, just depends on what you’re doing.
I don’t know the history of swag. I never got into it. I don’t own any swag gear. Um, but every time they do those drops and it goes for thousands of dollars, I think that’s insane. Yeah, I don’t know. I I’m not into that kind of stuff, but I don’t also don’t know why. Why are they like that? Like why why do people go so crazy over it? I know it’s limited drop stuff. Where does the history come that makes that important?
I think they just started doing something that nobody else was doing.
Okay, I yeah, they they were kind of the ones that did the crazy designs and kind of allowed with the D face.
The D face is where it started with where I’ve got one of Magnum PI goes back to 2014 at the PGA show when they had their booth was basically a table, you know, and uh and then they also got all that Dgap stuff too.
I agree with you. I I think I mean I’ve said it before, but I think it’s just like it’s just they’ve grown so much that their quality has gone so subpar as well. It’s it’s bad that one that’s my whole thing.
I I like the designs like the I got the the old playing the old playing card suite that it’s cool, you know, and it matches with the VGN stuff, and so I like that. And I mean, I had it on my on my jailbird for a month and a half, and the stitching started coming off. It’s like all I do is take it off my putter and put it on my putter. You know, that that that shouldn’t cause it to come the stitching coming off. I will say that Rose and Fire Ass man head cover I have, the blade, the mallet or the blade one. That thing is big sound filled guy.
You get a lot of conversations from that. Like I’ve told Eric three of them.
Yeah, I told Erica I said I get more comments from that ass man head cover than anything I’ve ever had.
Yep. Here’s my here’s my thing with swag. Swag used to be really good. All right. And then they grow be they grew beyond their britches. Like because I had a swag cover back in the day, and it was it was really solid. And then remember, I got that one, uh, that eight-bit the eight-bit one tech mobile, and I was like, This feels terrible. Like, I don’t like the feeling of this.
It’s just not the same, it’s not the same.
So they’re they’re cutting costs somewhere, of course. Uh, maybe the older stuff, absolutely, yes. If if you’re a big fan of it, go after that because the quality was so much better. Shout out to traditional golf. Yeah, it makes a killer shit. Um, but my one, my like oh hatch golf, my kingdom head cover, my putter cover that I lost, that thing was built like a brick. And that was for somebody that was for uh Cam Kelly’s event. I lost it, I spent a bunch of money on it, but Hatch made it, and then once Hatch came around, it feels so much better, it feels like quality, and that’s the thing where I think swag has lost it a bit, is just like it just doesn’t feel it doesn’t feel solid, it feels cheap to me now.
Jeremy, you know who they have.
I know he’s bounced around a few times. It’s EP or EBS and then they Winston has started making stuff, and I thought it was Winston myself, but um even with them, like it’s it some of their quality, like they go through patches where it’s just not I’ve had some where the magnet moves magnets go all over the place, the leather starts peeling apart, and then they switch to another one, then it’s good again. So it’s kind of hit or miss.
Yeah, Ricky Johnson was telling me that the price of magnets has like quadrupled.
We used to because he the uh wedge anvil is the price of cereal, man. The cereal prices are way up. The price of everything has gone up except for Arizona Ice T.
Yeah, he put four magnets on those wedge anvils, and they’re the rare earth magnets, they’re super strong. But he used to get them for like a dollar twenty-five a magnet, and they’re twenty-five dollars a magnet now. Jeez, holy fuck! Yeah, it’s insane. That’s nuts.

Um, but it’s called like I forget the name of it, but he’s got like steak and frites for like 15 bones, and it’s supposed to be banger. It’s on the other side of town, but it’s actually by tea. It’s by tea. Next time I see it, I’ll share it with you. Okay, deal. Deal rebellion is rebellion is tasty. Did we say we were giving away tonight? Did we are we giving it anything away tonight?

Yeah, he was sourcing, bro. Jeremy was out there sourcing. For sure.
Hey, I want to uh before we do the giveaway, I want to um take a moment Diamond Spur.
That’s right. Acosta knows. It’s called Diamond Spur.
Diamond Spur. If you’re in Vegas, hit up Diamond Spur. I want to go. I I gotta get over there. It’s right now.
Let’s find my place. Yeah, there you go. It’s not that close, but it’s close.
Yeah. All right. Stop. I’m I I got I got the chat, bro. I got
Okay, man, let’s hear it. I I put a post out yesterday talking about some of the things that I’m doing on the website. Um I really am tired of paying what I pay for web hosting. So I’m trying to reduce some of that. Uh, the 1440 site at the end of the year is going to go away. Um, that’s almost that’s beyond a decade of writings and articles and reviews that I have done over the years. Um, haven’t spent a lot of time on it lately because mainly I want to I want to do this. This is what I’m enjoying. Uh, I do still have an itch for writing every now and then. Um, but uh Tim Flote, who is my swing coach, uh, he puts out a blog every week, and I was sharing some of those on 1440. But the traffic actually on the CDP website is starting to catch up to the 1440 page. Um, for some ungodno reason, I still get three to four thousand views a month on that website, even though it’s just sitting there doing nothing. Um, and we’re we had a really good week last week on on the CDP. Uh, so I’ve been working on it, I’ve been updating stuff, trying to get it a little bit more user-friendly. Jeremy’s been helping me um streamline some things and and make sure our Google searches and everything are are on the right points. The store’s been updated some. Uh, but I started uh adding his blog posts, he puts them out Monday mornings. So now if you go to the website and you look at the top, there’s a section that says blogs. Uh occasionally, if I decide to write something, it’s gonna go there. Tim’s is gonna go there, and I’m reaching out to other people that I know that write because blogging went away as soon as Instagram and everything got popular, and the influencers kind of took over what review sites and blog articles used to be. There’s still some big websites out there that you know, big huge, you know, my golf spy is another just massive website. Um, but I want there’s there’s still a lot of people that write out there that maybe aren’t getting some of the exposure. And I’m not saying that because if we share, then they’re gonna blow up, but I do want to find some people that write and want to share their stories on our site. So if you are somebody that has an active blog that writes, that puts out a weekly or a monthly article, posts something, let me know. Get in touch with me, and we can add it to it. So we’re gonna have, you know, of course, the podcast is front and center on this, but I I want that on there so people have a place where they can grab some articles, grab some information, do some reading. Um, we are going to start planning some events, some CDP events. Yes. Um, you know, since the Vegas Golf Network is going away, that’s gonna free up a lot of my time to help make this site and this podcast grow. But we’re gonna do some other things as well. You know, we’re going to we’re gonna do some events, you know. We have some shirts, we have the grips, we have we have other things too. We want to make it a place where people can go and just geek out on golf. That’s that’s our goal. Um, so like I said, if you are somebody or you know somebody, like, hey, you know, hit up and uh I’d love to get just a great collection of amazing writers on there that uh you know can help you engage in the game.
Or even content creators, can you post videos there too? Like if you want to tell a story about your local club, maybe.
Uh, I mean, we can figure out a way to do it. Yeah, yeah. I mean, the storytellers, story. I’m not gonna turn around any ideas, you know, but I yeah, I don’t want, you know, because like when I was when the blog was active and I was on it, you know, writing two, two, three times a week, uh it was constant. I want to, I want to write for you, I want to write for you, I want to write for you. I’m like, okay, great. I said, here’s here’s my thing. Go to your closet, find a piece of golf equipment, send me a thousand words on it.
And I think a great way to do that though would be like if somebody created like a uh interesting piece of golf content on Instagram, right? They could write like a synopsis, you know, paragraph, two paragraphs, and link the video to the full story. Yeah, but isn’t that what they tell a good story? People people lose it, people don’t read anymore. That’s the problem.
No, I know, and that’s that’s what I’m not trying to bring back blogging, it’s it’s dead as far as I’m concerned. But there are some stuff there are still people out there that actively write articles, and they’re really that’s true, yeah, talented. Absolutely, and like Tim’s knowledge.
I mean, I said well, I mean, yeah, if you’re a nerd, you can yeah, I guarantee you’re gonna nerd out and just uh give you something.
I just chatted with him today because I noticed I noticed something in my swing that I posted the other day, and I’m like, hey, we need to take a look at this, and he’s like, All right, let’s break it down, and you know, it was just like yeah, blew me away. So, yeah. Take a hat, check your phone, Joe. That’s right. Don’t listen, don’t don’t even think about it. Uh yeah, attention spans drop 15 seconds max. Absolutely. That way, if you’re reading, you actually get a little bit more engaged, you know. That’s that’s one of the things I love reading an article, you know, when you find something good, like um writing article out there that it’s really good.
What I was thinking is like some somebody that told a good story on like the history of Las Vegas National, right? They don’t write, but they have a good story, yeah, of a video, like a YouTube video or Instagram video. Hey, pull up like a synopsis, like a paragraph. I played, you know, blah blah blah. You know, it there’s a bunch of history out here. Check out my video, and that’s a great way to grow like people that truly love the game in a way, too. You know, absolutely a message board. Yeah, I saw I saw I saw boom boom. Just I can’t wait to tell Steve on Saturday and rope it around that corner.
Uh recent review of Las Vegas National. Greens are dead, every green is like putting through a landmine field. The course has less than average fairways. Yes, that’s gonna be so much fun. Uh all right, let’s go.
You’re playing there on Saturday, yeah. Oh fuck, yeah.
Let’s see. Hang on a second. I got some Jeremy’s gotta get out of here, so we gotta look at your phone, you ass.
He’s trying to send us four hats, Joe.
Okay, finally, finally. It was two minutes ago, bro.
What do you want me to pick, bro? What do you want me to pick?
Uh, let’s see. Share screen.
Shut up, Bush. Never get on the podcast,
though. This guy’s never get on the podcast. Ever.
He was already on it once, wasn’t he? Oh, he was in the aftercall.
All right, so this is for a damn good putter hat. Damn good putter hat. Yeah, boom, here we go.
Raw that I got regular size hells for all the big headed people out there.
That’s it. Fat heads, fat heads.
T Dog, T Dog. Tracy’s like super chat. He’s a subscriber, yeah.
He’s a subscriber. Just let us know which one you want, and we’ll make sure to get that to you. Yep.
Dirk Dan is going off. He’ll probably want to do extra large. He’s got a fat old melon, like I do too.
Also, guys, for the giveaways, you gotta be present to win. Okay, if you’re a subscriber, you do not have to be present to win.
Trace, you want a normal size or do you want extra large? Yeah, XL, baby. Yeah.
I drove by the Thomas and Mac the other day for the first time uh in a couple years, probably. And I just that place is that place is pretty glorious, man.
Yeah, we actually got it just we just got a paint job on the outside.
So oh, yeah, well, they painted a little brighter.
You know, the uh when you walk in, how the inner ring is red. Well, it was like a pinkish orange because you know the sun just kills everything out here.
So they hired a company to come in because our painter he doesn’t listen, but he’s fucking trash too. Um so they got a painting company come in and spray all that stuff. Awesome.
Yeah, it’s cool. I’ve been there so many times, man. Disney on ice, fucking rebel games, fucking WrestleMania.
I think it this way. This is this is what the painter did. This is what a fucking dumbass he is. He painted a stainless steel door that we have there. He painted it black. So when the sun dried and hit it, it completely cracked. It looked like fucking it looked like the Sahara Desert, all cracked floor, you know, like dry lake bed and shit.
That was the look I was in.
And then to get the paint off, he gets a fucking um um one of those um fuck drawing a blank, like a grinder, but with the pad grinder. Oh no, now there’s swirl marks all in the standard. Yeah, I mean, I think it got I think it got I think it got re uh completely replaced, but they just fucking retarded.
Sounds like some engineers the the eclectic fracking swirl, yeah.
Yeah, this ain’t Fremont, bro.
