Welcome back to another deep dive on the Chasing Daylight Podcast! In Episode 378, the crew—Matt, Joe, Jeremy, and Dan—tackles some of the biggest storylines dominating the golf world right now. From our comprehensive PGA Championship preview to a candid discussion on the rapid decline of LIV Golf, this week’s episode is packed with hot takes, new golf gear reviews, and plenty of laughs.
ARONIMINK GOLF CLUB: THE ULTIMATE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
Major championship week is upon us, and the 2026 PGA Championship is heading to the historic Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania. Originally designed by Donald Ross and later restored by Gil Hanse, this classic, old-school track promises to be a spectacular test for the world’s best players.
The guys break down the course layout and share some historical insights—like Gary Player’s iconic win there in 1962—before locking in their official major championship predictions. With heavy hitters like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Tommy Fleetwood in the mix, who will survive the difficult conditions to hoist the Wanamaker Trophy?
We also debate a fascinating question: should the PGA Championship bring back a match-play format? Implementing a stroke-play qualifier leading into a weekend match-play bracket could inject unmatched drama into the event and finally give the PGA Championship the unique identity it deserves.
IS THIS THE END OF LIV GOLF?
Perhaps the most heavily debated topic of the night centers around the elephant in the room: Is LIV Golf failing? The hosts dig into the harsh realities facing the breakaway league, noting massive financial losses from its backers, a lack of fan engagement, and an unsustainable business model.
With rumors swirling that the tour might shut down entirely after this year, the guys analyze what a potential collapse means for the players who defected. Will we see major champions like Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka scrambling back to the PGA Tour, or will players who secured the bag simply choose to retire rather than head back to Q-School?
GEAR TALK: CALLAWAY TI FAIRWAY WOODS & THE MALLET VS. BLADE DEBATE
It wouldn’t be the Chasing Daylight Podcast without some serious gear talk. This week, the guys review the brand-new Callaway Ti Fairway Woods, raving about their incredible distance, easy launch, and driver-like ball speeds.
We also dive into the great putter debate: Scotty Cameron mallets vs. classic blades. Whether you are currently rolling an Odyssey Jailbird, experimenting with modern mallet forgiveness, or you consider yourself a traditional blade purist, there is plenty of insight in this episode to help you shave strokes off your game.

What is up, everybody?
Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast. This is episode number three hundred and seventy-eight, if you believe that. Unbelievable what’s going on in our lives. 378 episodes in. We’re glad you’re here. Thank you so much for hanging out with us. Uh, special shout out to Garson, Garson Golf. We play them, we love them. They sponsored the show. They had another major out, sold out in minutes. Minutes. We we have one in route. So tonight’s giveaway will be one of the PGA championship, the white special. Uh, yeah, they’re calling it the Philly Special. Yeah, as soon as we get it in our hands, that will ship out to whoever wins the giveaway this evening. Joe, why don’t you tell the people how to get in the giveaway?
Guys, it’s very simple. Every Tuesday night, we’re here live for you talking golf on the YouTube’s at 7 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. All you gotta do is leave a comment in the comment section. Stay around, hang out, ask your questions live, and then at some point near the end of the show, we’re gonna pull that Gibby, and uh you’ll get a brand new Garson grip coming your way. In this case, it’s the 2026 major version of the Philly Special, uh, in showcase of Aranim Inc. Uh, yeah, there was only 100 made. We got one to give you one for free tonight. All you gotta do is make a comment, hang out, and when we pull it, your name is called.
Hopefully, it’s that easy.
Simple boys.
That easy. I will let everybody know I’m highly distracted right now. Right there, I have a TV that the Knights game is on, so I’m kind of keeping track of that because you know it’s important. Game five. We are knights fans here.
Yeah, we’re gonna be calling out goals and scores probably every time something happens because everything happens. I should try and turn mine on.
Oh, yeah, so that’s going on. Great time in Vegas. The heat is here. Jeremy and I were out at Revere today, got a little practice session in, had a little putting game, did a little live video out there.
Farm or no?
You gotta have four people to play farm.
I can’t wait to play farm though. I can’t wait to teach Dan Farm too.
I know it’s gonna be so much fun. I’m looking forward to that. I hope we have the same cabin that way.
We can it’s take a picture of what we wrote in the first one, the first cabin.
Has anybody put it put an F in the chat if you’ve ever heard of the putting game called Farm? F’s in the chat. Nobody’s heard of it. I know nobody’s heard of it. We created it, we created it, and we’re getting to play it at the place of its origin in two weeks.
Yeah, we’re cabin F.
I think we were R last time.
We were R last time, yeah.
Oh, yeah, because there’s four cabins and they spell out farm. That’s why it’s a putting game called Farm.
Brilliant!
Yes, brilliant.
Payment with the comment of the night. Trust me, you don’t want to learn how to farm, it’s expensive.
Hey, shout out all the farmers of America, man, keeping us fed. Yes, thank you so much for your service, even though even though they’re doing donuts in the middle of the street at 3 a.m. That’s where it is tied up 2-2 now.
Yeah, but hey, we’re a golf podcast, we’re here every week talking golf. Uh, it is a major championship week. The PGA championship is taking place at a Ronamink. Do you do you say that K a Ronam? Is it a Ronamink? Is it a runamink?
But it is a runamink, yeah.
Aranamink, yeah. Yeah, uh fabulous golf course. And uh me in my in love with AI uh reached out to Google Gemini and said, Hey, we need some infographics to share with you.
AIG, big AIG, big AIG AIG.
So check out this. This is some uh this is you know, I’m sorry for all you that are just listening, watching live, it’s where it’s at. So uh right now I’ve got a graphic on the on the screen for everybody. Uh this is the legacy of the Aranamink golf club. It has hosted five pretty important championships over the years.
1962, the PGA Championship. Gary Player won that. Total score, he was two under. Uh, in 1977, the U.S. amateur was held there. John Fock won it.
AKA Ron Burgundy.
Yeah, Ron Burgundy, totally. They haven’t been there since ’62.
Definitely looks like him. Yeah, but look at that. Black Knights’ first PJ victory. Wow.
Yeah. Um nine and eight. What a hell of a way to win an amateur championship. Nine and eight.
Yeah, that’s a thorough ass-whooping.
Yeah. 2003, the senior PGA championship was there, and that was won by John Jacobs at four under. Uh, and then five years ago, 2025, or six years ago, uh, the women’s PGA championship. Uh, C. Young Kim won uh maiden major win. Um, wasn’t that a maiden major win with accuracy? That is uh she won a 14 under that’s AI for you. And then uh this one, uh 2026. So that is uh that is it’s been around for a while. It’s uh this is Gil Hanna uh Donald Ross.
It’s a classy, yeah.
So it’s it’s uh gonna be a good one. It’s very classic. Uh they I was watching some golf channel, they were talking about how they it’s not a difficult course for the members, but they can set it up to be difficult for majors. So it’s uh they said it’s not like Oakmont, where it’s just a kicky in the nuts course every time you play it. The the members actually enjoy it.
Um, so it’s uh wingfoot too, right? So yeah, I mean I know red drop played wingfoot, and he said that place kicked his teeth in. Yeah, he said the greens are just absolutely diabolical.
Got some what up, fellas. Thank you everybody for being here. Thank you so much. What uh what is this? Oh, yeah. VGK, not VGN. Yeah, my attention’s a little divided too.
Um Chewy, I got your stuff right here, so I’ll get it to you at one of these days. You know what I mean? Because Chewy won last week. It’s right here, just so you know. Last week? Yeah, he went Puncha Chewy with Jalen. Jalen. He won it. It’s right here. The towel. Is that up, T Lou? Keylon. What do you what?
What Keelan? Is that Puncha Chewy? Keelon. Kyle won last week.
That’s who won last week. Oh yeah, that’s Kyle Shane. We do we did the grip, so I got that grip too.
Right?
Yeah, Kyle Shane won the grip and the hat.
I’ll have it for you on Saturday, Kyle. He’s got all this stuff sitting over here, and I you know, gotta get rid of it.
One man army.
You need a one-man army, it’s a one-man army.
One man army.
This is awesome.
Week before there’s a duck down and he’s not moving.
Is he dead?
He looks kind of like I don’t know if anybody can go back to remember when Paul Korea got just destroyed in the middle of the rink and passed out. You remember that, Dan?
I think I vaguely remember that.
Yeah, and they showed they showed they zoomed in on him while he’s laying there unconscious, and all of a sudden his breath just filled up his mouth, his face guard. Like he came back to life. Yeah, he’s alive. Oh, he is getting very much helped off the ice.
Weird science. Oh, it’s a big boy sport, can’t fuck around in hockey.
Uh hockey
is the greatest playoff sport there is. You, I mean, it’s so it’s the best, it’s so good.
All right, so uh we got the PGA championship, it’s the 108th uh running of this tournament. Uh, in other news, the uh billionaire. I didn’t know if you knew this, Christopher Riotin, who won at Quail Hollow. Yeah, he’s a billionaire.
Holy moly.
Wow, his family is, yeah. His family is, yes. His his father apparently started a convenience chain in in the Norway area, and it blew up. And uh yeah, he’s his family is loaded loaded. Uh Lucas Herbert won the live event in Virginia. Yes, that took place. Not a lot of people do that.
I watched for a quick minute and I was like, eh, this is this is pretty boring.
So I thought they were playing Greenbrier.
Was that Green? Was that Greenbrier? I mean, Greenbrier is Virginia, right? That’s what they used to play.
But it didn’t look like it didn’t look like Greenbrier. I don’t remember a giant.
It looked like a resort course to me. I was like, Yeah, I wanted it for like four minutes.
That’s about three minutes longer than I did.
Liv’s dead, live is dying.
Shout out Brent Snedeker. He’s back in the winner circle. He won the Appo event. He’s back in the winter circle. It’s been a long time, it’s been a long time. It was good to see him way, though. And the VGN tease it up this weekend at Wildhorse. Yeah, we had a massive turnout for this one.
I’m also playing Friday, too, so that’s news.
Oh, where are you playing Friday?
Yet to be seen, yet to be seen. No. Uh I’m kidding. Uh Jared’s in town. Uh his buddy Will. Uh he he put us in a text group, and Will’s friends with Chris Torres, so uh, we’re all gonna play at Natty, at the Natty. I haven’t been there a long time. So I gotta put in a PTO day. Is it not good? When’s the last time you’ve been there?
Thursday. Later Thursday. Uh they have a massive POA infestation. And they are replacing parts of the green in sections. And it’s happening on almost every green. Interesting. Yeah. Like the greens that are hard to hit, like uh 16, harder to hit uh 14, the long part three, those greens look okay.
Um they’re not that bad, but everything I mean, there’s some well, supposedly it’s one of those, you know, we don’t got a tea time situation, so um, you know.
I mean everything else is good. I mean the bunkers are they’re crusty because you know that they I’m sure they wet them in the morning, they wet them in the morning to keep the sand down, and and then it just gets dried and crusty.
No, I think it’s a good spot to take uh Jared. He loves all that old architecture shit.
So I have some side stories. I shot 79 from the back. I played the back tees with Julian and Trey and Glenn, and uh there was a single behind us, and we said, Hey, come and play with us. It was Chris Caswell who’s a VGN member, so that was funny. Oh, sweet. Um, so we played as a five spot for a little bit. Um, he had to bounce because it was taking long because we had a group in front of us, some Kobe golfers that were just taking forever. But uh every time I mean the course is in good shape. The greens are just they’re hurting right now.
It’s uh I mean it’s one of those places I always recommend too. Like, I mean, it’s not always gonna be in the best shape, but it’s just like classic Vegas rat pack used to hang over there, and all the history. The Vegas Golf Hall of Fame is there. You could see the tiger pictures where he played to win at Summerlin. You know, he didn’t actually win there, but you know, there’s a lot of history and stories there, which I mean Casino House never stood on the 15th T with Trey or Glenn.
So I got to talk about my Freddie Couple story to them.
Oh, they got to learn about it. Yeah, they got to learn first the boom boom story.
So that’s always fun. I always get a always love sharing that story. You want to know what that story is, you gotta play golf with me.
So that’s that’s that’s I think it’s really cool just finishing and ending with that the casino house on the you know, yeah. That’s super cool.
It’s cool stuff, yeah. It’s a good spot. Apparently, that was a five-minute major that led to that guy being dead on the ice almost. Five-minute major for murder, for murder, you’ve committed murder on the ice, homicide on the ice, homicide on the ice. Uh, yeah, so um, speaking of not great conditions, uh, we we are going to Wildhorse.
It’s uh it’s a rough go. Uh the showboat going with a showboat.
Uh Kyle, who won last week, he played it Saturday morning, gave me a little heads up about some things going on out there. Um, I I know the conditions aren’t great. He said the greens are good though. Um, the fairways are firm and fast. It’s you know, playing on a dirt lot in some spots. Uh, but the greens are pretty good.
So when I played there, the greens were rolling like 16s because they were so dry. Really? Yeah, it was insane. That’s awesome. That’s wild. That’ll be they’re smooth, they’re actually smooth.
Yeah, they they talking with the the director golf there, I I said, you know, they’re trying to, they’re just limited what they can do. We’ve talked about it before, but yeah, yeah. So what I say, I’m gonna do a little bit different. This one, you know, instead of having the diamonds play the backs, spades play up, and then have the clubs and hearts play up again. Uh, I’m gonna mix it up. So instead of the spades going back, I had the diamonds come forward. So uh all the diamonds and spades players are gonna be playing from 6,000 yards, and the clubs and hearts guys are gonna be playing from 5,500 yards. Um, so it’s hopefully will be a little bit of a scoring fest for everybody. Yeah. And uh, you know, there’s only eight guys in the diamonds flight, and a couple of them don’t play in the side game, so there’s only six guys in the side game. So I said, fuck it.
Blended they’re getting strokes added. Fuck it, they’re getting strokes added to their scores.
Ah shit, they did Anaheim just scored. Damn it. Um so the spades and the diamonds are gonna share uh CTPs and skins, and uh so making it making the pot a little bit easier. So it’s a 20 to 6 advantage for the spades over the diamond players as far as how many players we got. So I know the the skills of those players are better than a lot of the guys in the spades, but you know, the the I didn’t want to see anybody go back to a 240-yard par three in really rough conditions, and then also play a 600-yard par five in rough conditions, and then some people may have not played it out there and they missed a T-box because it is way back there.
So trying to make a little bit of a T-boxes, yeah, yeah. I think it’s confusing.
We don’t need any we don’t need any disqualifications with 48 players, so well.
Hey, can you I know yeah, punch a chewy, you’re not getting your giveaway anymore. Yeah, it’s gone. I’m ripping it in half.
Terrible, terrible.
Uh I love wild horse. I mean, I don’t, I mean, I think it’s just such a fun golf course, you know. I mean, conditions aren’t always great, but it’s fun, it’s a lot of fun.
It’s uh such a fun layout, yeah. I love it. I really want to see it come back, and fortunately, I don’t think I never will, but show me why aren’t you?
All you gotta do is put a boat out there in a bowling alley.
That’ll be it’ll congratulations.
Yeah, uh I would love to see somebody buy it that has just a piss ton of money and and you know let’s start a GoFundMe, yeah.
Right, save the horse chasing daylight, CDP country club, restore the horse, CDP C C we’ll get Gil Hans to come out and do a restore, you know.
Yeah, I mean Gil Hans is the goat at the rest of the street. That would be crazy, yeah.
Don’t think that’s happening anytime soon. Hey, say hi to Katie Forrest.
Yeah, I think they’d just start over. Yeah, just pull it, yeah. They would just rip everything out.
Oh, they had yeah, the the irrigation on that.
Well, I mean, one and two also just like make no sense where it’s at.
I mean the range.
The range should be one and two.
That’s what it used to be.
I know, and then you make the range another hole in the layout. I mean, it’s just Joe’s wife grab everybody grab in the vacuum.
She’s not doing anything important.
Nothing going on. She’s a fucking podcast.
Podcast ain’t got shit on chores.
Make sure you use code daylight15 and CarsonGolf.com. Yeah.
We got a Dyson Dyson promo coming up.
They don’t suck like vacuums.
Yeah, that’s true. All right. Uh hey, I want to also give a little love to oh, damn it. We just had a breakaway. Damn it. Uh Precision Pro. We haven’t spoken much about Precision Pro lately since we had them on the show. Go back and listen to that episode. Fantastic episode. Learned all about what goes into Precision Pro and why they are some of the best range finders on the market. Uh have not charged.
I haven’t either. When did we haven’t charged mine either?
I haven’t charged mine since May of last year either. Yeah, like I had my other my and it’s still full battery. I mean, honestly, the Titan Leap. Shout out Precision Pro. I’ve not charged it in a year.
Still, and I’ve I’ve been using I’ve been using the Bluetooth and the app just to just to test it to see if you know it’s it’s a strain on the battery. Nope. Not at all.
I mean, it’s literally it’s a great range finder too. I find it super accurate, and the magnet the magnet that’s included on the in the body very is very sticky and firm.
And I I love it. So if you’re in the market for a new range finder, check them out. We don’t have any discount codes or no referral links or anything. We just they sent us some. We love them, we’re still using them. You know, if they were trash, we’d be back to our other range finders, but they’re not. You’ll see them on our carts. Uh, you can check out any of our videos, you’ll see them on the carts. They’re they’re a fantastic range finder, 100% worth the money.
Just go over there and type in uh Chasing Daylight Podcast in the promo code and just do it a bunch of times, and then they’ll know that hey, we’re talking about them. Shout out precision pro great, great, great. The Titan Elite is A1.
And another shout out I want to give Trey Sanders, our boy Trey. You know, it’s it’s one thing to talk a good game, it’s another thing to actually put your money down and go out there and show up for a qualifier and play. You know, it it’s it’s not an easy thing to do. Yeah, it’s not, it’s very difficult to get through these qualifiers. You have to have your game to get through. But he said, I’m gonna go do it. And he started off pretty good, got to one under, and uh had a couple bad holes, a couple bad breaks. Um, didn’t make it, but I mean, I think eight, eight or seven under one uh got through. Um got some good golf on a you know, not super easy golf course. So yeah, he he helped. Kyle Mays, the Carbon guys who works out there, he shot two under, you know, and he didn’t make it.
Yeah, and he knows the hell out of that course.
Yeah, just a little bit. Just a little bit.
No, it was good, it was good to see him uh doing it. And uh, I don’t know why Jeremy or Dan didn’t go do it this year, but you know, maybe next year, right?
Oh, yes. I think there’s still time for the mid-am one, right?
Yeah, maybe not. Yeah, well, tomorrow is the the Nevada one at Casablanca. Um blows me away.
I mean, we should just put all our eggs in in the the basket, me and Matt, just quick golf, and then we just just go to your house, every guy’s house every day, and just say, hey, let’s we’re going to practice right now. Let’s go, let’s grind. We’re all we’re grinding. Come on. We’re grinding, we’re hitting the range. It’s 5 a.m. What are you doing? Why are you sleeping this time to grind?
That’d be nice.
Yeah, oh yeah, there’s still plenty of time for the midam because I like when is when are you guys going to New Mexico, Dan? You and Fred?
June 21st we go.
June 21st? Yeah, so time for that.
Where is the mid-am at this year?
Leto.
Leto. Oh, that’s right. Yeah, I remember that from last year.
That would be great.
I know. Um who is it? Um God drawing a blank popping up in the show here, too. Uh, him and Andrew are both going to Mini Ha after we’re gonna be there, and they’re gonna try to qualify for the mid-amp there. Are we on there? Still waiting to hear back from Beds if we’re gonna be able to get on Mini Haw. Shut up, Ed’s Beds always comes through. He’s yeah, he’s very rarely not coming through when he rarely misses.
He rarely misses. Shout out, Beds.
He rarely misses. So good chance we’ll be playing mini haha here in a couple weeks.
Yep. Distracted, sorry. It’s gonna it’s gonna turn into a it’s gonna turn into a real sick trip. Yes, it is.
Yeah, me and me and Jeremy were talking about it today that we’re gonna uh because we’re gonna we’re not gonna have we’ll be here next week, but then the following week we will not because we’ll be um on the road.
I think we try and record like a little quick one and release.
Oh, we’ll we can do all kinds of stuff.
I mean we don’t have to have or maybe next week, maybe next week our after show. Can we can we make sure our can we record our after show as next week’s podcast and release it early to the subscribers? That could be cool. Also, if you’re not a subscriber of the premium uh chase a daylight podcast, you can do that where Matt tells you it is, it’s down here, it’s on the website.
Got a couple last week, so thank you so much to those gentlemen for signing that up.
Yep, we so and also what comes with the premium subscription is you don’t have to be here live to win the giveaways, and that’s happened to Geordi quite a few times. So yep, yep, just letting you know. Uh and you too can save a dog for five dollars.
Cue the Sarah McLaughlin.
Boo ducks down with the ducks, trash, trash ducks quack, quack, that quack, quack, quack, that’s how it’s uh no. I think that’d be a good idea. If we look into that, like maybe next week we record the show, and then the after show could be a quick little Nebraska pre, and then we can release it Tuesday, and then the subscribers get it a week early.
All right, we can look into that. We can look into that. I think that’d be good. Hey, we are we are very close to getting the uh the monetization that we need to do. Very, very close, which we’re gonna be able to. I I still have to wait for it to happen to see if we’ll be able to do it, but we should be able to do the live after show on YouTube just for the subscribers. So that will hopefully work out.
So yeah, hey, why don’t you throw up that Garson banner down there? You guys can use code daylight15 at check out Garsengolf.com. Save yourself 15. Shout out Garson all day. And the Garson grips are in the process. Chase the Daylight podcast.
Yes, uh, talked with Andrew last week. See, he uh so I can give you guys exactly what he said because I was an earthquake in my oh let’s see, where did that message go? Uh let’s see. Dead air. Still waiting on samples. Factory starts back up today after a week-long holiday. Should get the samples within the next week or two. Once the samples are done, we’ll ship them to you. You guys can have some in hand to show off, usually four to six weeks for production after samples are approved. So yeah, two months, probably. Two months. How many are we getting? How many are we getting? As many as we get. Oh, I don’t remember.
Gotcha.
I don’t remember. Let’s see. What who is bugging me right now?
Shout out, Austin. If I haven’t single-handedly gotten you to monetization, I’d be surprised my iPad has put in some work. Shout out the farmers of America, shout out payment failed. Much appreciated farmers of America. He’s also he also said 100% guaranteed that he is driving a home or Nebraska to do donuts in the middle of the street while we’re at landman.
Nice. Sick.
I’m fabricating that slightly, but slightly. Let’s go, Jay Chum. J Chum in the house, too. Shout out to homie J Chum. Gars on all his butters. Love seeing that.
Yeah.
If you don’t have Garson on your putter,
you can use code Daylight 15 to check out. Save some money.
All right. So this is uh it’s so funny. Last week I I prefaced our headline uh why live failed, and we didn’t even talk about it. Really? That that kind of made me laugh. I I you know went back and I started doing all these edits. I’m like, like shit, we didn’t even talk about why live golf is failing.
Uh and attention and not not executing.
Right. Hey, it’s clickbait, clickbait. Um, I think everybody knows why live golf is is failing. Uh when when the financial backers say we’re not financially backing you anymore. It’s kind of hard to uh you know reach out and try to get new players or lock up players for long-term contracts because you ain’t got no money.
So they said that at the end of the year, right? Like it’s good through the end of the year, but they’re stopping it. Yep.
Yeah, the New Orleans event didn’t happen. Virginia did happen.
Um, I honestly don’t know who’s gonna put in that amount of money for the losses that they’ve accrued over the past few years, and I think one of their only options, like I mean, if Bryson backed it, that would be helpful. I don’t know if he would want to. Did you guys see swag’s drop today with Bryson? It’d be B Live, yeah.
B div. I mean, I don’t I don’t know of anyone else that can take a 3.2 billion dollar loss. No, they’ve lost so much fucking money, dude.
I mean, they they have stupid money, but I mean Jeremy were talking about this last week. Uh they do you have so much, but at some point you have to go, dude, we’re giving away a lot of fucking money.
But do you think it has to do with the climate of the world and the the war and like the strait and all that?
I’m sure that’s not right.
Exactly. I mean, but I mean that it happened right after that. I mean, basically, so yeah, yeah, maybe Bryson is on the horn, you know, saying, Hey, let’s chill, we gotta play golf next year, you know what I mean.
So I don’t know.
There’s so many things that could happen.
Yeah, I I just don’t see it. Don’t see it.
I don’t see even if it even if that situation fixes itself, I think that they took a hard look at it and they’re like, it’s not worth it. We did not gain anything, we only lost. Because even Chasing Daylight Podcast is not watching us, you know.
Um the the PGA is starting to backtrack a little bit on the no-cut events. Um, you know, they’re talking about going back to 110, 120 players on the on the elevator event or signature events. Um, the no-cuts, it’s just there’s no drama. There’s no drama on Wednesday or Thursday. You know, it there’s you know, you need to have you need to have that definitive. You have to at least be here to play the weekend drive-in players to get them to do that. They need to start using Liv as a drug. Man That might help. I’d get them some more more eyes.
Yeah, Liv had that hedge fund mentality, lose money to make the competition lose. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, and that’s you know, or gain or gain more momentum on the world stage, you know what I mean?
So yeah, well, I they were trying to bring a different version of golf to get high-level competitive players, and it’s just I don’t know, for me, it’s just not golf.
I should throw yeah, if they would have done like a match play thing, that may potentially have worked, yeah, like the the whole team thing, you know what I mean? Yeah, or they could have created like like uh you know areas of the world, countries, and then it’s match play, and then it’s country versus country match play.
That may have potentially worked, potentially, but you know, it’s it’s like in the college uh when James, my buddy James, was playing at UNLV, I I was chatting with him every week, you know, and he would tell me about how before a tournament the the guys would play a tournament to see who’s on the you know the four players that count towards the team and who’s fought flying solo. And those those tournaments were sometimes more grueling and and like intense than the tournament that they were going to because you know you’re fighting for spots. Now, if Liv did something like that, where they’ve got their five guys or whatever, however many are on the team, and you know, hey, only two of you are gonna count. So on Wednesday, yeah, you guys are playing a stroke play event to see who’s on the team event going forward. That might hype it up a little bit. Give you know, give them something to play for other than just a paycheck.
Yeah, you lose your out. I mean, it’s how it goes.
Yeah, yeah, it’s tough.
I don’t know. Good riddance. Play the Green Day song. Good riddance.
I think uh the time of a lot.
I think all that extra money, you know, paying those dudes just really kind of took a lot of drive and excitement away from those guys actually playing, wanted to play good golf. You know, they already made all the money. What’s the point and putting them to work in it?
Did you see Rom’s presser today where they that um uh journalist asked him, you know, you say that you uh you learn from what takes place in your life. What have you learned from this live situation? And he was like, that’s for me to know.
Uh yeah, next time I feel like John Rom himself, like I like a month afterwards, I looked, I felt like he regretted it.
Yeah. So well, I I was at a live event here. It was one of the first events he played after going.
We all were, yeah. We all were yeah.
Well, I went, I went the day nobody else went, and uh uh they were having the press conferences, it was a a covered tent in the parking lot, and so him and the his teammates were out there, which I mean he’s a big guy compared to the other guys on that team. And you know, I I wanted to ask a question, but of course I didn’t get called on. But uh it just I don’t know, it didn’t seem like he was crazy excited to be here. I think the the money was nice, you know.
I don’t have to worry about I don’t have to worry about money, not that he had to worry he took the bag, which which most would, right? Yeah, everybody took the bag, and most people would, right?
But there’s no fucking way possible that any of those guys decided that that was a better product on the PJ Tour. Oh, they all went, they all went over there because they got paid a shit ton of money, more money than they would have made on the PJ tour.
Yep, and and some of the guys most players, most people would do, which totally understandable.
But yeah, I get it. Thomas Peters said if Liv shuts down, he’s just gonna retire. I yeah, I’ve gotten to grind to get back on tour. I’ve got my money, I’m gonna go live my life. Yeah, which I’m gonna do. Now you can now he can Harold Warner doing that. Why go back to the grind? I mean, and and I mean if they make some of these guys go back to Q school or Corn Ferry, no, there’s a lot of talent on that Corn Ferry tour, you know.
I think there’s only a few people that they would be like they would make like fine exemptions to. Like if you’ve won a major, like you can be welcomed back in the next season or something. If you have not won a major, you’re gonna have to go back to Q school, and a lot of people aren’t gonna do that, you know. But if you’ve won a major, because they want those stars on the PJ tour, don’t they want Rom, they want Bryson, you know.
Absolutely.
So everybody wants to be able to do it. It’s gonna be interesting, but it is for sure 100% dead after this year. No speculation. I don’t see it coming back, I don’t see it happening. Unless unless Bill Gates sells a bunch of shares from Microsoft and invests into live, which is most likely not happening, uh, because they lose way too much money. It’s not or Jeff Bezos, which somebody called out in the chat, it’s not gonna happen.
Elon’s gonna make a X tour.
Elon’s a big Elon’s a big golfer tour.
Yeah, it’s gonna make a first first golf course on Mars and off from 20 20,000 feet.
Yeah.
Uh
all right, uh back to the PGA championship. This is I I would would you say it’s your least favorite major? I mean, you’re going up against the US Open, the Masters in the open.
So I was actually thinking about this today. I think it might be my least favorite.
Yeah, would you put the players ahead of this or no?
I might put the players ahead of this.
I wouldn’t put the players ahead of this. Too much history for me. Too much history for the money.
There’s a lot of history courses. That’s that’s what it is. That’s what separates it. I mean, sawgrass is great, but you know, PGA gets held, PGA gets held at some really sweet fucking courses.
Yeah, so let me bring this infographic up. Oh, not that one. We did that one already. This one right here. Uh, so this is the last 10 winners, and one thing that you’ll notice on this is there’s a good separation besides Quail Hollow being on here twice. But uh last year was Quail Hollow, Scotty Scheffler, then Xander Shoffley won at Valhalla, Brooks Kepka won at Oak Hill, Justin Thomas won at Southern Hills, Phil Mickelson at Kia, Tom Maricawa at TBC Harding Park, Brooks Kepka at Beth Page, Brooks Kepka at Bel Revere, Justin Thomas at Quail Hollow, and Jimmy Walker at Baltros.
I don’t think AI Jeremy is who Jimmy Walker is. Jeremy’s a definitely definitely not Jimmy Walker in that.
Yep. That’s Jimmy Walker, the uh PGA uh of America out of North Texas.
I can’t even see. Let me see. That’s terrible. Yeah, that’s a walker who’s like a PGA pro in the middle of Ohio or some shit.
Jimmy Walker Jr. from Cincinnati. Oh man, yeah, but a great variety of golf courses.
You know, it’s true. Yeah.
It’s it is a good mix-up, and I like it. The other thing that I like about this event is there is no amateurs. These are only PGA profess PGA tour players and PGA professionals, or PGA of a marriage. So um you’re not getting amateurs in this one. No amateurs, which it’s the only major that doesn’t have amateurs. Yeah, that’s a cool little aspect of it. I would like to see them maybe try to bring match play back for a couple years just just to see, just to see what happens.
I saw that video today of uh what was it? I think it was golf.com or something like that, and somebody in the um press conference for Rory. I don’t know if you guys caught this video on Instagram, but he said, Have you heard of the society or the committee of uh something, Walter Hagen? Because Walter Hagen won all of his PGA championships in match play, he won five during match play. And Rory was like, I would love for them to bring back match play. I think we’re missing match play. I mean, I think it would be awesome for them to test that because, like Rory mentioned, we only get it one time a year basically. We get it during uh president’s cup, rider cup, yeah. And I think we’re missing a lot of that. Yeah, we used to have the Dell, the Dell match play in Texas, yeah, the WGC events, yeah. Yeah, the WGCs, but I think I like that could separate them from you know, well, I like the US amateur and the US mid-am.
I like the format. You play two days of stroke play, top 64 advanced. That’s what they were saying, and then it’s match play after that. I think that would be awesome, you know.
And then the winner is the PGA champion.
Yeah, it’s I mean, getting to the match play is it’s like it’s an achievement, you know. That was when when I caddied for Andrew at the mid-amp. That was I mean, that was his goal. Get to match play. I just want to get to anything can happen once you get to match play, but you got to get to match play, and it’s tough. I mean, you gotta have two really, really good days.
Well, it’s one it’s a thing, it’s one of those things where it’s like you win and you win and you’re in, or to the next, you lose, you’re out, and you’re yeah, see you later. So it puts the pressure on, and I think that could be an the identity of the PJ Championship. Yeah, I think I think PJ Championship is missing some of its identity, which it’s great that it’s for the PGA professionals 100%, because they get their opportunity, but it I think we’ve said this in previous years where it’s like, yeah, what’s the identity of each major? And it’s they could create their own identity by doing something like that, you know what I mean?
Yep.
Yeah, that’d be that’d be I would love to see that.
I would love to see because I would love to see people are gonna are gonna tune in on on Friday when you know there’s there’s five guys above the cut line, there’s five guys below the cut line, and they’re all separated by a stroke or two strokes. I mean, that’s good TV. We look at the longest day in golf when you know there’s guys out there that you know they’re they’re down, you know, one stroke and two holes left, and they got to play their ass off to to you know get into the US Open. Or the the the Friday at the U.S. Open where it’s that watching those cut lines, seeing if an amateur makes. I mean, that’s good, that’s good TV.
Yeah, that’s drama, which we always tell. And Palmetto is correct. Imagine if Tiger got to play match play in his prime for a major, like he’s probably winning every time.
I mean, especially coming off the three mid amateurs and the or the three US open or US Am titles.
I mean, gosh, but that that helps to create drama because you you lose your out, you know, and that’s that’s all we all you always would just want drama in a major. You want a stack leaderboard, you want somebody to be able to come from behind and win it. You want you don’t want anyone to run away with it. I mean, that could create a lot of drama because you know you don’t know what’s gonna happen at the end, because at the end, there’s gonna be just two players and it starts fresh. Yeah, now somebody could run away with that match, but I vote for match play.
I would bring it next year. I think they with today’s technology and being able to see so many players on the course with all the footage and everything. I think it would bring a great aspect to Thursday and Friday.
Um, yeah, you know, and then they can stroke play Wednesday, Thursday, yeah, battle day, you know. But yeah, I like Jay Chum says that could potentially take it to Ryder Cup level.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Imagine like Blocky gets into match play against Scotty Scheffler.
I mean, come on, that would be that would be amazing. You can get so many matchups that would be sick. I mean, you might get matchups that are kind of like eh, but you’re probably gonna get at least one killer matchup out of that, yeah. You know, yeah.
All right, I’m all for it. I’m all for it.
All right, so uh
I vote yes, I vote yes.
All right, another AI generated uh infographic here. These are the odds. Let’s see if they screwed anything up on this one. Probably check Cam Young is still. Looks a little uncameron youngish.
AI taking all your jobs.
All your jobs. I like how Newton Square, Pennsylvania is pointing to Oklahoma.
Don’t know why.
Back in the state. They’ve got the state, right? But uh point the landman. That’s where the PGA is.
This is where AI knows something we don’t. AI knows something we don’t. Next PGA championship is at Landman.
All right, so Scotty Scheffler is your odds-on favorite, followed by Rory McElroy, Cameron Young, John Rom, which uh be surprised. Bryson D. Chambeau, Xander Shoffley, Ludwig Aberg, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, and Colin Marikawa. Uh, these are you know top players in the world. So uh, you know, um is Ricky in Ricky Fowler in the field? Did he get in?
I don’t think so.
Yeah, I wouldn’t think so. I don’t know.
Check that, Jeremy. See if he’s in the field. Um, yeah, Scotty Scheffler, odds on favorite. Rory not playing this past week at Quail Hall of course that he plays very well to get ready for the oh wait, no, he did play. I’m sorry.
Scotty didn’t play. He shit the bet on uh yeah, was it Sunday?
He had a bad first day, then shot lights out day two, and then fell back to earth on day three. Ricky is in.
He is in. Yep. Hey, what do you know? I’m wrong. TP5 picks. Shut up, Ricky Fowler, Tommy Fleeply with the picks design, Ricky Fowler with the picks design.
He had a good chance of win last week. He did.
He was there, yeah. Hey, shout out Harry Hall, too. He played great to get there. His Apex video was blowing up. That was hilarious. Have you guys watched Apex yet? No. Oh, yeah. Good movie. Go go go watch that. That’s a good flick.
What’s it on?
Netflix. Apex. Apex. Good movie. Good movie. Charlie Steron. Um yeah, the the scene he was mimicking the scene from the movie in his little video, and it’s it blew up. It was pretty funny. But he made a charge. He made a charge and uh got close. Had a couple battle holes down the stretch, but that was good to see Ricky was right there.
Um, Stuart Sinks in the field.
Oh, Joe’s all of the because he won the senior PGA last year, that way he got in.
Stuart Stink Sink is a sniper, dude. I’m still don’t I still don’t I still don’t forgive him for taking that win away from him for Harry Higgs in Napa when I had that money on Harry Higgs and he fucking come come out of nowhere and just snipe him on the dub. I would have won like 800 bucks on that Harry Higgs win and fucking here comes Stuart Sink.
It’s one of the sickest handlines ever.
The dopest yeah, is the goat sniper dude?
I mean, it’s even got the it’s even got the little dots for the from the hat.
But I will say this wearing a swimmer.
I will say this though, a bit of good news for Stuart Sink. Um, his wife, I heard, is no longer having to do treatments for her stage four cancer that she had.
That’s good news.
Good for him.
Yeah, oh yeah. Boo weekly, he got in the winner circle.
Big boo. Is Sink’s son still caddying for him?
I don’t know.
No idea.
Yeah, Boo Weekly reminds me of um Boom Hour from uh uh King of the Hill. Remember that? Remember Boomer from King of the Hill? Oh, yeah. You can only understand the last percent of God on God on Black God Bamboa. Like that’s a race through Boom Weekly reminds me of what do you say?
Oh he’s he’s a duck dynasty character, totally. Totally. All right, so who who won who won the uh masters pick? Who had the top you guys remember?
I’d have to uh Joe picked Rosie. Um I picked Fitzpatrick. That’s right. Picked him a little early. Matt or Jeremy picked Speet.
I probably won with Rose, I think.
Uh I can’t remember. I can see his name. The tall PXG player.
Um the Tom PXG player. Didn’t he have Oberg?
Oh uh the former bouncer. Oh, yeah, Jake Knapp. Nate Nap, thank you. Yeah, all right. So Joe, you get to pick first. Who you who you taking? I’ll bring I’ll bring the odds back up for you. I haven’t even watched it coming out.
I haven’t even like really watched much of live. I mean, yeah, I’ll stick with it. Sure, why not? I was thinking about going with uh let me check my fantasy team from uh the BB pool. I think uh I was thinking about going with Fitzpatrick. I’ll go with Fitzpatrick for now. I’ll let you know. I mean, I know he’s not long off the T, but he’s he can play. I’m going with Fitzpatrick for currently. Give me a second. I’ll look at it.
He’s added a lot of clubhead speed lately, so he he had a lot of people. I know, I know.
I under I understand. I have Tommy, I do have Tommy, Nori, I do have Tommy on my team, but I’m I’m I’m semi-locking that in, and I’m giving you guys the right to pick before I fully lock it in. Good, Jeremy.
Do you have a pick?
Jordan.
We’re going, Tommy.
I’m a flea wood, huh? Okay, Tommy saw a pick.
Okay.
I’m I’m gonna do it. I’m I’m it’s a grand slam, it’s a grand slam kind of year. I think Jordan Space is gonna get it done. I hope he is gonna bring home the title.
That would be nice. That’s not gonna happen.
But if it happens, I called it.
That would be sweet, yeah. Easy office pulls. Let me see.
We’re gonna have back-to-back years where a player has won the grand slam.
Okay, so I have to love to see it.
And what we got, what is Scotty? He still needs two, right? He needs the US Open and the Open Championship, right? He’s only won PGA twice and Masters twice. I love Tommy Fleetwood. Hasn’t won the US Open, has he? No, I’m not sure. I don’t remember.
Tommy’s only won one PGA.
It’s gonna be the year of Cam Young, bro. It’s gonna be the year of Cam Young.
That’s right. He’s gonna have a big year. No, he won the open in 2025. So yeah, he just needs the he just needs the U.S. Yep.
Well, Speeth needs the PGA and Scotty needs the US Open, right? No, he needs PGA as well. Scotty needs PGA.
No, no, just kidding.
No, he won last year.
Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah, he needs U.S. Open.
Yeah.
So we can’t do that. I’m gonna change that would be crazy. That’s right.
Two in one year. Three in two years. Unheard of.
That would be wild.
All right, Joe. Who are you changing your pick to?
I’m gonna go. Malbond boys. Jason Day? The 2015 PGA championship winner. Jason Day, yeah. Blocky. Okay. Blocky.
Oh, I don’t have the 15 on here. I only have the 16. Yep. Jimmy Walker out of Cincinnati. Uh, okay, so you’re saying Jason Day.
Jason Day, 100% winner.
Is it is he wearing like a Philly fanatic outfit on on Sunday?
He’s gonna be decked out in Liberty Bells and Cheesestakes, bro. No question.
For sure. Guaranteed. For sure.
There’s gonna be cracks and liberty bells around, and just cracks, and then Ben Franklin play a ball with a crack in it. Ben Franklin with a cheesesteak hanging out of his mouth. Rocky gloves, the independence, the decoration impens can be down the back.
Now this stuff blew up for the masters. What’s has anything come out for what they’re planning for him for this? Has anybody seen it?
I haven’t seen it yet.
You’re perusing the pages.
I haven’t uh been on it.
Probably would have dropped already if they were doing something crazy. Yeah, I would think they’ve already I would think they’ve already done it.
Uh J Day played very good in the Masters.
J Day played very good in the Masters. He did.
He did.
So I’m gonna roll with that. And if it’s Patrick’s if it’s Patrick wins, then I’m kind of close to picking correctly. So I kind of got two players now because you allowed me that time.
I don’t see Joe’s writing own rules. Don’t see anything on their socials. That doesn’t mean anything.
Maybe Jason Day is showcasing it on his page. Anybody? Anyone?
This guy Rob Chapman always forgetting stuff. It’s Tuesday. Every Tuesday. Every Tuesday.
Every Tuesday.
He forgets every Tuesday. Taco Tuesday is Chasing Daylight Podcast Tuesday. What’s that?
Funny golf meme page on Instagram that has the blonde woman and then the two guys, and they always do like pro shop video. Doesn’t Garrett Higo look like the woman on that?
Yes.
Holy moly, Garrett Higgill with that.
I inspired. I’m inspired. Joe.
You got the flow. Yeah. Ogre ogre from the nerds died today.
Yeah. Oh bombers.
Yeah.
And Jim Colbert.
Yeah, and Jim Colbert. And some of the Memphis Grizzlies, too. He’s 29 years old. Like too. A lot of people in sports of the nerds are dying today.
I think I ordered uh Revenge of the Nerd soundtracked on vinyl. I gotta find it.
I’m gonna Garrett Higgo flow inspired going on. Give me that thing. Getting nappy.
Looks like a duck’s ass hanging out that back.
Right? It’s fluffy. It is fluffy.
Some down feathers back there.
The inspector gadget going out the side here. Yeah. Dunk my head in some some uh uh what’s the plastic coat to get the gray out.
Uh let’s go get it powder coated.
Thanks for all the positivity I’ve been needing, Dan. Really fucking appreciate that. No, you know, Dan is a the purveyor of positivity.
What did I say? Oh, from the yeah, he must be a big nerds fan.
Either that or both. I wish I I have I have Revenge of the Nerds vinyl somewhere here. The soundtrack from the OG of Revenge of the Nerds.
I might have to throw that on tonight, Joe.
Oh no, I gotta find it. Yeah. Yeah. Oh one of the greatest comedy movie, 1985, right?
It’s back there. I mean that that era with like Porkies, Revenge of the Nerds. I mean, there’s some awesome comedies back then. Yep. I could still watch Porky’s today and just laugh my ass off. I do fast times.
I got fast times on that. That’s a good that’s a good sound.
All right, what else we got? What else we got? Police Academy. Yeah, that was not as raunchy.
Found it. One of the greatest movies. There it is. Ever.
Little skull makes recipe.
Yeah. One of the one of the greatest films. First time I saw Hair Pie as a child. Uh oh pie. If you have not seen this movie, we’ve got if you have not seen Revenge of the Nerds, please go watch it. It’s hilarious. It’s a classic.
That’s where Joe thought Lavar Burton was in it.
Lamar Latrell. Lamar Latrell.
Oh shit. It’s good. Oh
man. All right. So Dan, I know you were curious, and I failed you on this, but uh, I I hit the new TI Fairway Wood, the three and the five wood, uh, on Saturday at TPC Vegas. Yeah. And um the three wood is is in my bag now. It is, I was blown away. Okay. Uh the five wood was really good too, but I just hit my current quantum max really well, so I didn’t want to mess with it, but I don’t hit my current three wood grate. So I was hitting that, has the the new link shaft in it. And wow, it was special. And then so at the range today, Jeremy and I were at Revere, and I said, Jeremy, you need to hit this. Jeremy, the floor is yours.
You’re on you’re on mute, Jay.
Sorry, I’m so excited here. Um, I think I carried it like 290. Really? It was insane. Off the ground.
Off the ground. He was hitting it halfway up the hill at random. With the link shaft in that, too? Yeah. And a 60 stiff. That wasn’t an extra stiff. It was just a 60 stiff, and he was flushing it. Yeah, that’s like it is a driver replacement.
Only imagine hitting it off a key. It’s crazy because Trey hits that triple diamond five wood as far as I hit my driver. Yeah. I smashed one on 10 at Pi last week, and Trey was like eight yards behind me with his five wood. He hit it like he hit it like 310 because I I hammered my drive. I hit mine like 320, and Trey was like right, right, right there. I was like, holy fuck, these new these new fairway woods are ridiculous.
This one didn’t know if you’d need a three wood, honestly. Like as far as that went, it’s maybe a four or five wood is perfect.
It’s stupid long.
Well, I’ll tell you what, I’m learning to hit this, hit that uh elite titanium five wood. Um, I played uh with Tommy on uh last Sunday, and I hit that more making an effort to try to you know learn how to hit that thing, and it was nice. It was really, really, really nice. I was getting about 265, 270 out of it with a lot of height. So I’m starting to really start to fall in love with that thing. So we’ll see what happens. Yeah, the um 1K black, Tensi 1K black and the 75 TX. I had um I had it cut down a half an inch because it was in the three wood, so I had it cut down a half an inch and I had them throw uh uh three extra wraps on a mid-size grip, so it’s real real thick. And uh yeah, man, that thing’s it’s pretty nice right now.
I I got a couple, Rob, but I’m not gonna donate them. I’ll sell them to you. Yeah. So I that could be in the bag easily. Sure. It was it’s incredibly easy to hit, but it launches the ball like crazy. Um, but man, yeah, it was it was fun. I was teeing it up and just like hitting a hula hoop out there.
I want to try them for sure.
It was pretty pretty awesome.
I want to try them for sure. They look great. Oh, yeah. They set up so good.
Yep, they’re special. Hey, this is the Callaway podcast. Get that off the sorry.
I haven’t hit the Qi 40 yet.
I haven’t hit I haven’t hit those either yet. No, the shadow falls look sick.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They look dope as fuck.
I think it’s looks so much better than the QI35, the Qi40. Kyle motherfuckers in the house.
Let’s go. Do it.
Do it, Kyle. But if you’re gonna trim it, probably do it at the tip.
Yeah, I mean a driver shaft is a three-wood shaft, pretty much. You just it’s just how it’s cut. Yeah, so yeah, that’s I I’ve done that a lot.
Tip cut it, Kyle. Don’t don’t butt cut it.
Yeah, and look at the uh look at the recommendations from the manufacturer and what they suggest, because that that will tell you how much you need to do.
Yeah, it’s been a minute punch. Um I still remember that shit, bro. That was so funny. Oh man. Good time.
All right, we got anything else? Anything else you want to talk about?
Go around and that’s all I want to say. Of course, looks great. I hope it kicks their ass. I hope those mother, I hope those guys get rossed like we did out in uh North Carolina. Yeah, get fucking rossed. Um, I did see a couple of clips today that uh Roger Steele had posted that he was out there, and uh he said it’s there’s uh hole 11. If they put the pin in the front, it’s gonna give him fits. Like he just he just bumped the ball six inches and it rolled down like 60 yards to the uh down to the fairway. And then in the next video, he goes to hit it up back up to the hole, got it to win within like 10 feet, and it rolled right back down to his feet. Yeah, so hopefully there’s more holes like that on the course, and these guys just get rossed all week. I would love to see that.
I’m sure the bunker placement there looks incredible. Yeah, the cluster hole design, how the fairway is kind of like jut, like I don’t know, it’s just those east coast courses. Yeah, dude.
If you go and like Google Maps and and go look over Aronamic, and then you just back out a little bit, there’s some sick ass golf courses in that area. I mean, it I know they say it’s Philly, but it’s like not close to Philly, it’s on the outskirts.
There’s so many hidden, like just bangers out there that people have no clue about that we’ve probably never even heard about there. It’s just saturated with dope ass golf courses. They the the area has been around for so long that you know you might find a Donny Ross that’s undiscovered, or Perry Maxwell, or you know, all these designers from back in the golden era, and there it’s just littered with dope golf, like just think Long Island, and everything’s known, but like even in that area, it’s just like never heard of this place, you know what I mean? Yeah, it’s there’s so much dope golf out there, so much.
Yeah, have you heard of Firefly in the middle of Tennessee yet? No, the tapas bar, yeah. The one on on paradise, yeah. Firefly, never heard of firefly that one firefly, golf.
Yeah, I’ve never heard it. I mean, even I mean, up and down the eastern seaboard, Tennessee, Georgia, must be really new because there’s nothing on the map. North Carolina, I mean, every everywhere, dude. Ski tech in the house. Shout out, Thaddeus. What’s up, brother? Shout out ski tech. Put my goggles on. Shout out ski tech, put them goggles on.
It’s a new private club about to open the next couple months outside of Nashville.
Oh no, it looks nice, very lynxy and natural.
Yeah, I’m excited to see 21 club coming soon, too. Like 21 club. I saw Cyrus was out there recently. He was at 22, yeah. Yeah, he was out at 21 club.
He gets the cool invites everywhere.
Yeah, I’m sure Nori with the low lol, that’s the dirty dining one.
Uh, we were in Charlotte. I couldn’t believe how many dope courses were scattered through it. Yeah, they’re just they’re everywhere.
They’re anywhere. When you’re in Charlotte, you when if you’re in Charlotte again, you need to go play Todd Hill. I have not played it, but it’s a Mike Strance, and uh Mike Strance in my book can do no wrong from everything I’ve played. We’ll not let you down as a course designer. Yeah, I don’t think he’ll let you down.
Dorfy just left damn goddamn What’s the score in that game? It’s one-one still. Okay, ten minutes left in the second. We’re still in it. We’re still in it. Oh, yeah. Alright, but one of our best players just got just left the game.
So did Stone come back or is he still out?
No,
he’s not playing today.
Also, guys, we are gonna give away a Garson uh PGA championship tonight, probably very soon. All you gotta do is leave a comment if you haven’t left a comment. Probably do it right now. It’s a one in 18 shot currently. If you’re watching.
Uh probably 17 because I’m sure those some of those comments are from you.
Yeah, so oh yeah, 17 for sure. But we’re giving away a one-of-one Garson group PGA championship, the Philly special. Uh, we don’t have it to show this evening, but it is on its way. Uh there’s Vic. He’s fine. Only Molly. There’s the sanchise. There’s the luckiest, the luckiest fool I’ve ever met in my entire life, I promise you. Vic. He does win a lot.
Yeah.
All right.
Just taking some scrambles with you and getting the raffles.
Yep. Better than whatnot. I might win. All right, here we go. Drawing it. Drawing it.
You also got to be present unless you’re a premium subscriber. Scott.
That’s the Jesus guy. That’s the Jesus one from earlier. No, no.
Yeah, no. He’s not gonna be, he’s not gonna be here. You got two seconds. One, two, done. You lost.
We’re drawing again.
Damn. Yeah, he was a troll. He was trolley boys. Trolly boys. Oh, trolley boys.
No trolley boys.
Form fillers don’t win around here either.
Ski tech.
Ski tech. He just comes in late and says, I’ll take that grip. I’ll take that.
Oh bush. What a bushy boy. Ski tech, where you at? Oh yeah, gotta be present. He’s probably here.
There’s a delay. There’s a delay. Yeah. Yeah, even before we left that comment. There he is. There he is.
Shout out ski tag. All right. There it is. Well done. Well done. Nice work. Everybody put your goggles on. Shout out ski tag. He’s skiing. He’s skiing. U U modern. There you go. U U’s in the chat.
Not good. Ah, get it out. Jesus. God, playoff hockey.
Do you want to do a quick uh since all these guys are
here? Should we talk about what happened last week on whatnot? Or no? Your show? Yeah. Did you watch the whole thing or no?
I was in and out. I I’m talking about the show. Let’s go.
I have a hard time. Who here was in the chat? Who was here for my one-year show?
13-month show. Come on, get it right.
Yeah, it was 13 months. But dude, it’s fucking one man army. It’s so hard. It really is. Um, searching for that Playboy hat. Yeah, yeah. We had we had a couple Playboy hats, play golf hats. Yeah, it was it’s tough. I did get everything out super quickly though, so that was cool. Um, but yeah, you should have seen the garage earlier. I got my sticker everywhere. Yeah. Matt Matt gave away a hat. Matt bought an upgrade of Gibby in the in the for the chat.
Sponsored a hat, Gibby.
Look at this guy. Somebody said it. I was like, there’s no fucking way. I was like, there’s no fucking way. It’s all it’s all locked up. It’s all locked up. It’s it’s my the money’s in Bitcoin. No, but it was fun. I I know some of you guys are here. I appreciate all you guys. You know, I try and I try and show love where I can if you have a show and try and be there to support, you know, can’t always be there. But in I thank you guys for being here for us on the podcast because this is obviously the main goal. I can’t just go out there and buy hundreds of items every week to sell every week on whatnot. But I am here every Tuesday night, right here, Chasing the Eli Podcast. And we can give something away that’s Garson. So uh obviously that’s the main goal because these are my brothers, the homies, the golf boys, the cleany boys, you know. But thank you guys for all thank y’all for being there and supporting. It’s it’s not easy to do being a one-man army, but uh, and I can’t do it every week. So thank you guys for supporting. And uh I’m there when I can be. Shout out to all you guys for a while.
FYI.
Yeah, I mean, and a lot of a lot of the old uh day oneers, you know, shut up. So now I and now I didn’t even I forgot to sell a bunch of shit too. So we have to do that again, and uh, I’m excited for it because to sell any of the three irons. Sold one or two, I think. I sold they sold like 10 10 13 clubs. Uh nice. Hate shipping clubs, shipping sucks, but um, you know, there everything’s out there, everything is out there. So it’s the worst.
It’s like I have so much stuff that I want to throw on eBay, but I’m like, I don’t want to deal with that, right?
So it’s like you can get rid of it on whatnot real quick, or you put it on eBay, and it’s like, okay, one sold yesterday, one’s gonna sell tomorrow, and it’s just like and you’ve got to post all the pictures, you know. So it’s nice to take it out, just box it all up in a day or two and get it out, you know. But it’s fun though, it’s fun though, and it’s brought a lot of it’s fun now. It’s been funny. I mean you laugh. This you gotta say this. Bro, I didn’t even do that on whatnot. What are you talking about?
He’s moving hiding a bunch of shit around me.
That was Instagram, Austin.
That was on Instagram. Oh actually, I should do that on whatnot. Hey, guys, here you guys can come find it.
Oh just find random golf clubs all over the city.
This is a funny video uh post that somebody did on Instagram about Facebook Marketplace.
Hey, Chris Chris Acosta found one of those. Tell payment Chris, tell payment Phil, he’s tripping.
He got the one over at the golf uh the outdoor range thingy on the strip.
He got the one by Muncha Sub, right, Chris? I’m pretty sure you got the one. Oh, shout out Muncha Sub. Shout out Muncha Sub. Legendary local sub spot in Vegas. I’m pretty sure that’s where we found Jeremy.
Did anybody get your uh DGP sticker out of Red Rock?
Not yet. I need to go out there and see instant still there, probably covered by like a Patagonian.
You got a cornacob payment. Cornacob. I love to have corn kernels out there for him. Yep, by merchant sub.
And then this message that somebody was selling something that says, I’ll give you 400 cash today because I’m asking 1500 and you’re offering 400. Cash only today. And so he gives him an address. Come get it. He says, Leaving now, but I only have 380 cash money. Did you really just send me to a fucking mental institution? What the fuck is wrong with you wasting my time like this? He says, Oh, well, your offer was fucking crazy, so I was just trying to help.
I’ve had people do that like on offer up when I had when I had like almost a brand new Ventus for sale. I even had it at like 200 bucks, which is like cheap for a brand new Ventus. Some guy offers me, he offered me 50 bucks for it. I told him to get bet.
You’re perfect segue. Perfect. Rob said, Rob Rob says every time
I get on IG now, I get a post from FB Marketplace that Dan is selling a Scotty butter. That’s it, baby. Segway.
That’s it. Uh speaking of Scotty Flipper, Jer Jeremy is rolling that Scotty really well.
I know he is.
I mean, we did tie, we did tie in our match today. The tiebreaker was closest to the pin, and I hit a really shitty putt, but uh stroke, you know, the match play. We tied, so I was I was I was happy with that. You know, I am I am rolling the jailbird plumber’s neck right now. And Dan, that’s because of you, believe it or not. Last week we were talking about why you didn’t like the slant neck, and you said, I just really like looking down at a plumber’s neck. And I I said to myself, I’m like, you know what, I really like looking at a plumber’s neck too. Um, let me go pull blow the dust off the OG jailbird. And uh, so I started rolling it, and I was like, Man, that’s it’s feeling really good. And so then I put it on the vertex, and wow, like the the the good or the bad that I was having with Olsen, even though it was a lot of really good, the bad was gone, and it was tempo, it’s all tempo, and so yeah, I’m rolling it great. And then at national on those dry, bumpy greens, I probably had my best putting performance ever out there.
So yeah, you shouldn’t change anything with that. I don’t you you were earlier you were talking about doing something, I don’t think you should do that. You already did it, probably. Oh no, that other that oh, okay, okay. I thought you were talking about modifying the one that you were using today.
No, no, no.
That’s because that setup you had today was perfect, the grip, everything.
Yeah, no, that I’m going to put that shaft on uh that that TC head 100%. Because that I mean this this thing is just I mean, yeah, that’s the face.
The face of the face, yeah. TC boys.
Yeah, it’s the okay. It’s the insert. Yeah, it’s just that that that version of it all blue with a solid line is is only tour available. It was so funny. I told you guys in the in the text chat, but I so uh Mike Herrera, local uh pro, he came up. We me and Julian were at Highland Falls, and he showed up with some of his guys to play. And uh he’s always he’s always changing his butt. He changes his putters more than I changed my putter. And uh, so I go up to him, like, oh, let me see what you’re rolling. Seriously, he he does, and uh I go, let me see what you’re rolling. And so he pulls it out, and it’s that putter, but it’s got the three dots. And I said to him, I go, Hey, if you ever come across one of these or you know anybody that has one just like this, but with a solid line, you let me know. He’s like, It’s in that bag right there. I said, What? And so I go over and look, and he’s letting his buddy borrow it. Uh and I said, Uh, yeah, when when he’s done borrowing it, that we we will connect. And he’s like, Yeah, absolutely, sure.
So just a matter of time. I do have one bone to pick with you. You, yes, dad. You said Jeremy was rolling the Scotty well, and I would like to make an argument. Okay, Jeremy always rolls Scotty’s well, he’s a damn good putter. What do you do? What are you talking about? You check out damngoodputter.com, buy yourself a hat. There you go.
But Jeremy has not rolled a mallet Scotty ever you should have clarified.
You should have clarified that. You did not say mallet Scotty. Um, my listeners do not know.
Dan knew I knew Jeremy knew.
Sorry, Jim. I knew, I knew the listeners don’t know.
I was gonna send you a post, Matt, about uh uh group of a company that did uh the benefits between uh rolling a mallet and rolling the blade as far as and then I I saw who did it and I was like, I’m gonna hold off.
Did you see Preston’s comment?
I did not. What do you say? What do you say on that post? You say it’s full of shit.
Uh no, well, he he’s a big a fan of that place as I am.
Yeah.
And um see, because he he sent me a message early this morning.
Uh hey, real quick, it throw in the chat mallet or blade. Say it out there, and then we also got to talk about the Scotty shaft.
So he said after they posted that, so many gaps and what’s being shared about these mis make percentages. So you got the skill of the player, can the study be broken down by handicap, order in which the putts were hit, slope of the putts, what putts, time between players hitting putts, order in which the putters are tested. Yeah, yeah. What players are currently gaming a mallet versus a blade, detail of ball speed on hold, both make details of ball speed at hold on both makes and misses, slamming one from 12 feet that wouldn’t have gone that would have gone by five feet versus touching the high end and going by one foot are quite different. These are all meaningful bits of information that you’re going to publish. A study needs to be shared with the readers to provide a more complete picture. This is not a dispute as to the outcome of the results, but asking for additional clarity. I published posts before about the incompleteness of these studies and will continue to do so until better is offered. But if you want to call this a quick overview, that’s fine. But the readers deserve better, and I will continue to point that out because I value my readers and my clients. So you know that’s from somebody that knows what the fuck he’s talking about.
You know, for sure. You didn’t want to say whose page that was on. Oh, Mike. Mike Osprit. Okay, that’s what I thought. Okay. Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. I don’t know. For me, like putting is so right. Yeah, it’s damn good. I prefer a blade and I always will, but messing with that Scotty Mallet, I mean, it feels like a blade, it just looks different.
Yeah, it’s a look preference.
Yeah, it’s a look preference. It looks like a mallet.
I like them both, but I do like a blade better. It’s just yeah, I love looking at a blade. I love rolling a blade, but I for me right now, with you know that what I’ve seen the last week, it’s so funny.
I mean, I tell you what, I mean, I I would probably benefit from a mallet, but I just can’t do it.
You get a small mallet.
Well, like the the Versa, the T Versa, what is it, the Versa 3? The like that one I could kind of handle, but like a big boy, like just spaceship.
No. I think the Scotty I the that I’m using now, the blade, the mallet is the smallest one they make.
I’d have to go like mid-mallet, maybe, maybe mid-mallet, you know, like I think that the the fang, the fangs style, like that, is it’s really appealing to a blade player’s preference. You know, if you go to something big like uh the spiders or a uh lab or something like that, that’s that’s a lot of visual differences from what you’re used to. But like you, it’s not that crazy. There’s just a couple, you know, extra on there. It’s it’s still you’re still looking at a blade almost.
Well, when I started playing, what was that about 17, 2017? Like I the first like new putter I bought was a two-ball fang. And I used to roll the shit out of it, and I was like, you know, somewhere, somewhere I switched to a blade and I’m just you know, call me a purist or whatever, or I can’t look at it. I mean, I just it’s just uh I feel like it opens too much or it’s like or something, like it’s just too big and it looks like it swings too much.
Me too, Jay. That thing is fire, bro. It is fire. You got yours right?
Yeah, I got mine.
Yeah.
Did you roll it at where’d you guys play? Paiute? Yeah. You roll it out there?
Yep.
Happy with it?
Yeah, very much so. All right, especially when I get my own. Can I say real quick presentation’s done?
We we ended the show recently, but this is basically how the after hour shows go. Like that what we’re doing right now is how the show goes. Pretty much how it goes. We might talk about some other like personal stuff and crazy stuff, but if you guys want to be a subscriber, hey, so I’ve I’ve got a challenge for some of you guys that are watching.
There’s there’s quite a few people on here right now for our live show. I like that. Thank you so much for still sticking around and still being here. Uh, but we have a lot of videos on YouTube, past shows, other videos, but it’s like nobody is like engaging with them whatsoever. Um, uh not that we all have just so many, you know, bits of content that inspires people to comment, but don’t be bashful. You know, you’re you’re in the lives, you’re commenting. We like it. Thank you so much for doing that. But go check out some of our other videos, check out some of our shorts, comment on those, we’ll engage with you on those too. Um, that really helps YouTube know that hey, you know, we’re we’re we’re legit. We’re active, we’re active, we’re here. We want to chat with you, we want to talk golf with you guys. You know, it doesn’t just have to happen on Tuesday nights. You can go back and watch neighbor videos. We also have the website with all the all the the most recent episodes are on the website, and there’s breakdowns on there. You can see all the people that have been on the show, you can see past episodes, you can get tons of information about us, all that is on the website as well. So check out those sites. I’m working on the YouTube. I’m almost I have it almost done. I did a lot of work on it today to where uh you can really find the content much easier by checking out the playlists and the podcast playlists. Um, I’ve got everything separated now, and it’s much more user-friendly. So yes, don’t face palm that you like it, do it.
Uh he likes it. Yeah, it has been playing it for every day. He created a playlist to help us get to our goal. So shout out, shout out the farmers. Oh, sorry. All right, wait, I told you I got it. There, I got it.
There you go. I love my big ass triball odyssey. Shit, don’t move. Stays true to the stroke maligang.
Try ball. I could never that is a big ass. That’s a big boy.
Yeah, yeah.
Did you guys see the new lab? The final or whatever. It’s doesn’t pretty bad. It looks pretty good. It doesn’t look terrible. Yeah, the VSN looks pretty solid. Not too shabby.
The vision one, the vision one.
I was thinking I oh sorry, go ahead. No, go ahead. I
was thinking, Joe, that you know, when we won’t be here, maybe I’d rerun the Sam uh episode with with Sam on um because it’s been a little over a year since he was on, and I mean, even with the the selling of the company and and they’re still putting out a lot of shit new stuff, you know. You got the the two different versions of the blades, and now this one and the insert one.
Maybe we throw it old school. Why don’t we just do a double disc Tuesday? Double disc Tuesday Tuesday, just drop both Tupac. I think Tupac, double disc, smashing pumpkins, double disc, uh notorious BIG double disc. That way they get something new and they get something old. Vintage style double disc Tuesday. We could probably do that. I think that’s I think that’s a dope ass idea. Personally, I don’t know if Jodice ever released a double disc or Boys to Men ever released a double disc, but I do know that Tupac released All Eyes on Me as a double disc.
So I don’t think the world could have handled the double disc in Jodicey. No, I don’t think so. It would have been like a whole new wave of babies born that that week. There’s not enough towels in this world.
Just the Jodice generation. Too many uh revenge of the nerds cream pies, you know what I mean?
You still have those KBS butter shit? You haven’t sold those yet?
No, I haven’t sold any. I haven’t sold what are you doing? They’re sitting back there. Nobody, nobody’s gonna spend the money that needs to be spent on them.
You know how they didn’t get sued? Because the shape is not patented. That’s how they didn’t get sued.
There we go. That was an interesting one when it when that one dropped.
Oh my goodness. Ah, the lawsuit putter. I remember take five calling it the lawsuit butter. The lawsuit get these now for me because they’re not gonna be available.
Uh oh.
Hey, you know what? Yeah, she was like, I’m out, can’t talk bad about take five.
No, no, no. I mean, yeah, I mean, it’s and that’s all litigation. I mean, that that happens behind the scenes at the end of the day. I mean, oh, there’s you can’t and and if you don’t know what they patented, you know, they patented the uh the technology patented patat when you patatin shit, yeah, and people can’t copy, but when you don’t patatin it, they can’t.
Yeah, we can’t, we can’t. What’s up with that Scotty shaft? I I didn’t really check into it.
It’s a prototype. So do you think it’s gonna be like these GT and all the uh I don’t know, it just seems like it’s gonna be one of the you know, all carbon, like the the one piece LA golf and and Mitsubishi and and Fuji that they’re all doing. That’s what it looked like to me, yeah. The wave. There’s a wave of I mean, people are doing it. They are patented.
I mean, they seem like they’re late to the party, but I like to think that they maybe try to perfect it. Like they take all the ideas and maybe try to make it better. I don’t know if it is better, but it’s interesting how everything that they do is seems to come later. I mean it looks cool. I I love the pain.
It looks sick. Yeah, it looks good. It looks fantastic. So we’ll see. I mean, you never know. Yeah. Never know. It’ll get some buzz and then it’ll be it’ll be on the next you’ll you’ll have an option. Upgrade the shaft. Yeah. Probably. Joe, you’re a member of the Scotty Club. Why don’t you find out for us? Come on.
Yeah, let me I let me text Scotty right now because he’s working really hard welding and milling putters. Let me I’ll hit him up because he mills every putter by hand. No, Scott, Joe here. Hey Scott, did you mill all those blanks you got from China?
Yet.
Oh man. Kidding, kidding. He’s a he’s a craftsman, but you know, he doesn’t make every butter by hand, guys. Just so we all know that. No.
No, no.
Alright. Uh I got anything else?
No.
Crickets. Crickets. Alright. Well then uh I will say thank you everybody for being here. Uh loving when we go an hour and a half. Just rambling. Just rambling. Just rambling. Love it. So uh thank you all for being here. Uh we’re going to be doing a lot of live on YouTube. Not so much Instagram because we’re really trying to get YouTube going. And Instagram sucks. It pisses me off. So we’ll be doing a lot of lives from uh Nebraska and South Dakota. And when we’re out there, keep an eye out for those. Make sure you’re following, make sure you have notifications turned on so you can see when we pop on. Hey, we’re gonna be wanting the interaction. You know, you’re gonna guy we’ll we’ll do a live version of Farm so everybody can see Farm to know exactly how to play it. Um so keep an eye out for that. That will happen probably what Wednesday, 27th evening.
27th, 28th, yeah.
Yeah, so yeah, after our round, was it Wednesday afternoon?
27th.
So yeah, after our round, Wednesday afternoon on the 27th, we’ll uh we’ll play farm and do a live so you guys can see what farm up. It’s I still have the the note from Cliff. So good, good, good, good. It’s I I was thinking about it the other day and it all started coming back to me. So we’ll get uh we’ll pen and paper that shit and then I’ll create an AI platform and trademark it. Trademark it make an app and and uh that’s what we’ll do. We’ll make a farm app.
Farm golf.
I’ll hit a jump and say, hey, help me help me with an app. Uh all right, Joe, wrap this shit up for us and let’s go watch the nights.
