Bandon Dunes Recap Epic Golfing, and Unforgettable Moments

Send us a Text Message.

Ever wondered if a sprained ankle and knee pain could be overshadowed by the thrill of an epic golfing adventure? Join us as we recount our unforgettable trip to Bandon Dunes on the latest Chasing Daylight Podcast episode. Despite the physical toll on Jeremy and Joe, the camaraderie and memorable experiences we shared more than made up for it. From gathering around McKee’s fire pit to Matt proudly maintaining his no-alcohol streak, we share both humorous and heartfelt moments that made this trip one for the books. Plus, we dive into the gear we picked up along the way.

Our journey began with an early flight to Portland and a scenic drive to Roseburg, where we enjoyed some fantastic golf at Bar Run.  Bar Run’s relaxed atmosphere, complete with its RV park setting and wildlife encounters, created the perfect backdrop for our eight-ball round. We also discussed the unique features of the course and the cool merchandise we snagged. Reflecting on these adventures, it’s clear that the shared experiences and camaraderie made it all worthwhile.

Bandon Dunes truly exceeded our expectations with its breathtaking views, iconic ghost tree, and memorable holes. We explore the differences between watching course videos and experiencing the course in person, emphasizing the value of the immersive, on-the-ground perspective. Each course offered a unique experience, with highlights including Dan's hole-in-one at Sheep Ranch and the tradition of receiving a framed photo.

We also debate the evolving nature of golf attire, balancing comfort and respect for tradition. Join us for a fun-filled discussion of the highs, lows, and laugh-out-loud moments from our golfing adventures, and stay tuned for more insights and entertaining stories from recent golfing events.

We have a new partnership with The Golf Stop. Be sure to stop by their new facility and check it out! It's a great spot to practice, hang out, or get some swings with the boys!

00:01:09.629 --> 00:01:12.269
We had a fantastic time.

00:01:12.269 --> 00:01:13.784
There was eight of us going.

00:01:13.784 --> 00:01:14.849
We'll get into that in a second.

00:01:14.849 --> 00:01:24.965
First off, as always, I want to thank Scott Russo for allowing us to use Harmonic as an intro and his continued support along with the Golf Stop intro and his continued to support along with the golf stop.

00:01:24.965 --> 00:01:31.593
Uh, las Vegas is or Southern Nevada's premier indoor track man lounge facility.

00:01:31.593 --> 00:01:35.287
There's, uh, some new restaurants opening up.

00:01:35.287 --> 00:01:36.683
There's a new coffee shop opening up.

00:01:36.683 --> 00:01:37.847
You got McDonald's.

00:01:37.847 --> 00:01:38.950
There's a sushi restaurant.

00:01:38.950 --> 00:01:48.825
There's Jersey Mike's all kinds of things you can do Grab some food, go hit some balls, chill in the cool air and hang out with those guys, cause they're a really great group.

00:01:48.825 --> 00:01:53.864
All right, now that we got the particulars out of the way, how are you guys doing tonight?

00:01:56.049 --> 00:01:57.871
Good Good, fully recovered.

00:01:57.871 --> 00:01:59.655
Yeah, fully recovered.

00:01:59.920 --> 00:02:01.024
It took me a little bit.

00:02:01.024 --> 00:02:02.308
It took me a little bit.

00:02:02.308 --> 00:02:05.769
I've been getting sick on the trip didn't help.

00:02:05.769 --> 00:02:11.061
And then, coming home, like, as soon as I get home, I get in my own bed, get my routine, I'll get back to normal.

00:02:11.061 --> 00:02:12.663
Nah, didn't happen.

00:02:12.663 --> 00:02:16.229
Uh, I was down for three more days at least.

00:02:16.229 --> 00:02:22.507
Um, it was terrible, uh, but today is like the first day where I feel like a normal human being.

00:02:22.507 --> 00:02:29.187
So, um, I grabbed some clubs and hit some balls out back today, trying to get back into the swing things.

00:02:29.187 --> 00:02:32.039
But, jeremy, uh, you had a doctor's visit.

00:02:32.822 --> 00:02:35.385
I did yeah, are you okay?

00:02:35.385 --> 00:02:36.848
I'm good now.

00:02:36.848 --> 00:02:38.290
I I uh, yeah.

00:02:38.290 --> 00:02:42.623
So as soon as we landed, my my leg was like a balloon.

00:02:42.623 --> 00:02:45.110
It was so swollen I was starting to get nervous.

00:02:45.110 --> 00:02:47.503
I'm like should I go to the er after I dropped matt off?

00:02:47.503 --> 00:02:49.067
But I got.

00:02:49.067 --> 00:02:49.587
I got home.

00:02:49.587 --> 00:02:57.681
I just passed out really on the bed with my foot elevated and iced and woke up and my toes were all tingly because it'd been like up all night.

00:02:57.681 --> 00:03:16.907
But yeah, I went to the doctor sprained ankle, which I'm pretty sure happened at night golf, which means I walked like 72 holes on a sprained ankle so impressive, yeah man, I'm feeling so much better now joe, you had the, the crippled old man, walk in the airport.

00:03:17.108 --> 00:03:23.931
You said you'd walk shorties that way too, but I don't remember it um yeah, I still feel it.

00:03:23.972 --> 00:03:25.676
Yeah, I'm, my knee is still hurting.

00:03:25.917 --> 00:03:30.850
Dude, it was hilarious you were going and getting food and we're sitting there at the gate and steven was like dude.

00:03:30.850 --> 00:03:31.781
I saw this guy walking.

00:03:31.781 --> 00:03:32.763
I'm like what the I'm like?

00:03:32.763 --> 00:03:37.954
Oh shit, that's joe, yeah yep, yeah, it still hurts.

00:03:38.300 --> 00:03:39.342
It definitely still hurts.

00:03:39.342 --> 00:03:43.640
I think I might have suffered the same injury as uh jeremy on night golf.

00:03:43.640 --> 00:03:46.931
I I vaguely recall stepping in a sprinkler.

00:03:46.931 --> 00:03:50.110
I mean, I was a little hammered, so I don't know if it happened for sure.

00:03:50.110 --> 00:03:55.308
It's just in my imagination, but yeah, my knee still hurts.

00:03:55.308 --> 00:04:07.671
Little hammered is under understated I was big time hammered the first night, for sure, but and then it progressively got less hammered as we went on, but yeah.

00:04:08.533 --> 00:04:11.465
Yeah, I, I didn't feel like walking to McKee's anymore.

00:04:11.504 --> 00:04:12.306
That was my problem.

00:04:14.012 --> 00:04:18.651
I I passed on the night golf just cause I could feel I wasn't.

00:04:18.651 --> 00:04:30.468
I wasn't doing well and I didn't want to have what happened to you guys happen to me step in a hole, fall down a hill.

00:04:32.081 --> 00:04:37.213
I will say, on the night golf thing, I'm glad that we did it.

00:04:37.213 --> 00:04:39.079
I don't think I would do it again.

00:04:39.079 --> 00:04:44.704
When we were in Pac Dunes the club shop pro was like hey, how did you guys enjoy it?

00:04:44.704 --> 00:04:46.526
I said I'm glad we did it.

00:04:46.526 --> 00:04:48.504
I don't think I'd want to do it again.

00:04:48.504 --> 00:05:00.360
Um, but man, that sky out there when it's just dark and you're in pitch black oregon coast and you look up, I mean you see all of these stars, it.

00:05:00.360 --> 00:05:03.524
It was amazing just to look up and see that.

00:05:05.567 --> 00:05:07.930
Yeah, it was incredible, it really was.

00:05:10.312 --> 00:05:11.973
Like I said, I would have liked to have done it.

00:05:11.973 --> 00:05:23.079
I wasn't feeling good and it was a lot of fun just hanging out at the fire pit at McKee's and listening to stories and watching.

00:05:23.079 --> 00:05:30.807
I'm a big people watcher and if you're a people watcher, Brian, they did it on OG.

00:05:30.807 --> 00:05:35.863
They did one, two, three and nine, oh, nine, sorry sorry, nine.

00:05:36.425 --> 00:05:37.350
Yeah, one, two, three, nine.

00:05:37.350 --> 00:05:42.947
Great place to people watch, great place to listen to stories.

00:05:42.947 --> 00:05:45.752
I'm proud of myself.

00:05:45.752 --> 00:05:53.899
I really thought I may have broken and and had some beers, but uh, the no, the no alcohol streak is still intact.

00:05:54.781 --> 00:06:09.547
um, it was tough I'll tell you what that, that ghost tree hazy, is pretty damn good yeah, it looks really good so shout out hop valley anything hop valley does is is really good, unless they did the sheep ranch lager, which is trash.

00:06:11.029 --> 00:06:15.163
So no qualms with saying that uh, let's see.

00:06:15.163 --> 00:06:17.788
Uh, dan, no, no banning gear on you.

00:06:17.788 --> 00:06:17.988
I.

00:06:17.988 --> 00:06:20.394
I finally picked up something for trails.

00:06:20.394 --> 00:06:22.545
I my favorite course on the planet.

00:06:22.545 --> 00:06:23.848
I've got a seamus ball marker.

00:06:23.848 --> 00:06:26.101
It's the only thing that I have from well, I've got a.

00:06:26.101 --> 00:06:32.343
I've got a hoodie t-shirt, I think from there too, um, but so I was glad finally got something.

00:06:32.343 --> 00:06:36.711
Jeremy, got some gear, hey your camera's working tonight, nice.

00:06:36.711 --> 00:06:40.487
Uh, joe just decided to bail on the band and gear.

00:06:40.970 --> 00:06:44.101
Been wearing it all week and then, yeah, I really didn't spend much.

00:06:44.101 --> 00:07:04.812
I mean, it's like you know, first time we went um, I got something from every course and then, as you go again, it's like you fill in the gaps like something that you really want, and mostly this time I I mostly bought something for the kids, or you know, I bought, like a preserve Turbos cup.

00:07:14.639 --> 00:07:17.504
I am going to order a Shorty's hoodie, because man Shorty's was amazing, that was a surprise.

00:07:17.504 --> 00:07:19.309
I had a feeling it was going to be good.

00:07:19.309 --> 00:07:22.173
I didn't realize it was that good though.

00:07:27.959 --> 00:07:31.541
I mean it really it's, it has really tested my like love of preserve Tattoos did not happen.

00:07:31.541 --> 00:07:33.163
Mr Jackson had to work late.

00:07:33.163 --> 00:07:37.365
Mark, he's asking Welcome back to tattoos, happen?

00:07:37.365 --> 00:07:50.591
Steven Jackson, who is a well-established tattoo artist here in the valley, was on the trip with us and he was going to bring some gear but he had to work late and he said just packing all that stuff was going to be a nightmare.

00:07:50.591 --> 00:07:52.411
So no, but we are.

00:07:52.411 --> 00:07:57.055
He is going to be hosting us for a band and boys party at relic.

00:07:57.055 --> 00:08:02.216
Got out relic and some tattoos will be had for sure.

00:08:02.997 --> 00:08:04.720
Yeah, if you need tattoos, go, go.

00:08:04.720 --> 00:08:11.245
Go check out relic uh body arts over there on Russell and rainbow hell of artists over there.

00:08:11.245 --> 00:08:12.725
Go get it done over there.

00:08:12.980 --> 00:08:16.745
Some great stuff coming out of that studio, so all right.

00:08:16.745 --> 00:08:20.567
So um other, something small.

00:08:20.567 --> 00:08:38.283
It wasn't that big of a deal that happened, but dan got a hole in one, so yeah, it was cool then we played next all right, dan, tell us, tell, tell our millions of listeners all about your hole-in-one on sheep.

00:08:38.283 --> 00:08:42.580
And, by the way, you guys were first out on sheep you first to play that hole.

00:08:42.548 --> 00:08:44.032
That day you were the first person to hit on that hole that day.

00:08:44.000 --> 00:08:45.076
So first shot on sheep, you first to play that hole that day.

00:08:45.076 --> 00:08:49.316
You were the first person to hit on that hole that day, so first shot on that hole goes in the hole.

00:08:49.801 --> 00:08:50.621
So tell everybody about it.

00:08:50.621 --> 00:08:53.609
Um, everybody's been there.

00:08:53.609 --> 00:08:55.472
Uh, it was hole seven, the sheep's ranch.

00:08:55.472 --> 00:08:58.368
We had a front right pin, I think it was.

00:08:58.368 --> 00:09:01.216
Um what did we shoot Joe?

00:09:01.216 --> 00:09:03.360
146, 147, 46, what did we?

00:09:03.380 --> 00:09:12.375
shoot joe 146, 147 46 146 and uh, yeah, there's a little bit of a little bit of a tail breeze and it just hit a pitching wedge and it was pretty, pretty good shot.

00:09:12.375 --> 00:09:17.950
I mean, I hit it towards the flag and then everything just kind of like went blank after that.

00:09:17.950 --> 00:09:31.341
Like just saw two, one hop, one little hop, and then all of a sudden the ball just disappeared and we kind of went nuts on the tee box and uh, like I said it was, I kind of went just kind of brain dead for like that 20 seconds that we were celebrating.

00:09:31.341 --> 00:09:34.769
It was just a lot of screaming and who on I know that.

00:09:34.769 --> 00:09:36.541
But uh, it was, it was pretty cool.

00:09:36.541 --> 00:09:37.543
Yeah, it was.

00:09:37.783 --> 00:09:41.168
It was a fucking, it was a beaut it was, it was.

00:09:41.168 --> 00:09:45.174
It was a beaut, I mean just to like man.

00:09:45.174 --> 00:09:52.811
It was so cool and like you know, unlike yours, matt, when we had the trip in Georgia, like we thought it went in but we weren't sure.

00:09:53.421 --> 00:09:56.070
Like there was that whole position, you could totally see a drop.

00:09:56.341 --> 00:09:57.499
There was no question.

00:09:57.499 --> 00:10:01.626
And I've never been in a group where it was like no question, you see it drop and it's like.

00:10:01.626 --> 00:10:14.457
I remember looking at the caddy's face and he was like because it was his first hole in one that he witnessed too, and I just I remember everyone's eyes were just like so big and like oh yeah, and we're all giving each other hugs.

00:10:14.457 --> 00:10:31.647
Man it was, it was so cool man, like it was rad yeah, it was a pretty cool moment, for sure yeah, I, uh, I switched spots with jeremy um I am so sorry oh no, it's fine, I'm fine, I the.

00:10:32.168 --> 00:10:36.543
The only thing I hate on you for is because I got stuck in that group yeah, that's why I feel bad.

00:10:36.563 --> 00:10:51.528
Yeah, slow people so, uh, jeremy was uh taking a caddy, and so him and trey use the same caddy and I was walking, so, uh, pulling my bag, uh I said, yeah, take, take, go with the caddy, absolutely, um.

00:10:51.528 --> 00:10:57.667
And then we tried to get the guys behind you to switch with us, but they were kind of being asses.

00:10:57.667 --> 00:11:03.187
And then the group after them, they were like a no-shows or like sweet, we'll at least to get you know.

00:11:03.187 --> 00:11:07.769
One group behind you guys and the starter called us over and we peg it in the ground.

00:11:07.769 --> 00:11:20.484
And then they show up from the range, like at the time they're supposed to tee off, and and, uh, they turned out to be the slowest group in history.

00:11:20.884 --> 00:11:22.869
They were very slow, I remember.

00:11:22.869 --> 00:11:30.525
So we started and, um, the the starter was giving us his spiel right and he's like four hours, blah, blah, blah.

00:11:30.525 --> 00:11:33.140
And I was like three and a half, don't worry about us, we're good.

00:11:33.140 --> 00:11:45.630
And uh, we ended up in in 340, uh, and I handed him the tracker, because every group gets a tracker, and I said sorry, we didn't make the 330, but it's 340, here you go.

00:11:45.630 --> 00:11:52.791
He's like thanks, but that group was at least two and a half holes behind most of them.

00:11:52.811 --> 00:11:56.544
They were they well, the group behind we were on we were on nine.

00:11:56.946 --> 00:12:11.428
the group behind us was just on the green on on eight and they were just starting to tee off on seven, which was Dan's ace, and they didn't hit until we were at our shots in the fairway on nine.

00:12:11.729 --> 00:12:12.630
It was, it was.

00:12:13.732 --> 00:12:14.474
Or 10, 10.

00:12:14.941 --> 00:12:18.605
It was asinine and I don't want to get too much off on a tangent on here.

00:12:18.605 --> 00:12:24.649
I, I I recently wrote a post on the breakfast ball saying why is etiquette so hard?

00:12:24.649 --> 00:12:25.730
It's the title of the post.

00:12:25.730 --> 00:12:27.735
If you want to check it out, go read it.

00:12:27.735 --> 00:12:34.350
Got a lot of kudos from a lot of people about it, but some of the times and everything are on that post, so go.

00:12:34.350 --> 00:12:36.186
I'll have a link in the show notes.

00:12:36.780 --> 00:12:41.904
I think you were off a little bit on the times, but no, I think they took longer.

00:12:43.850 --> 00:12:49.481
No, it I think they took longer.

00:12:49.481 --> 00:12:50.063
No, it just seemed longer.

00:12:50.063 --> 00:12:50.365
I was mad.

00:12:50.365 --> 00:12:53.534
I was like I want these guys in in five hours so I can really go fucking yell because I was.

00:12:53.634 --> 00:12:55.100
I was a bitter bitch, I was, and you were sick.

00:12:55.100 --> 00:12:59.009
You had every right to be, though I was sick I, I was done.

00:12:59.149 --> 00:13:02.423
I was tired of watching these guys just take fucking forever.

00:13:02.423 --> 00:13:13.230
And, like I said, four and a half hours is not a long round of golf but when you're walking and it's Sheep Ranch and you can walk that course and play slow golf in under four hours.

00:13:13.230 --> 00:13:17.416
Four and a half hours is an incredibly long time to make your way, yeah, we played 340.

00:13:17.436 --> 00:13:18.259
We played 340.

00:13:19.020 --> 00:13:25.392
And it was just bad, and so I let the verbal hostility out.

00:13:25.392 --> 00:13:27.176
A cause.

00:13:27.176 --> 00:13:27.336
I.

00:13:27.336 --> 00:13:33.089
I saw you guys going up to the 18th green and, uh, I'm like I'm done.

00:13:33.089 --> 00:13:35.273
We were on the 13th fairway and I'm like.

00:13:35.273 --> 00:13:38.826
I told Bob and Steven and Cole I said sorry, guys, I'm done.

00:13:38.826 --> 00:13:42.261
And so I walked over and met you guys as you were walking off the green.

00:13:42.261 --> 00:13:47.253
Um, and all your faces were like why are you?

00:13:47.253 --> 00:13:50.966
Here um but that's how far behind they were.

00:13:51.008 --> 00:13:58.532
You guys were done on 18 and they had well, you're on 13, so that's that's an five holes, that's that's an hour and 15 minutes.

00:13:58.591 --> 00:14:17.466
You teed off 20 or 30 minutes after us, so that's 45 behind yeah, it was, it was bad it was bad yeah, no, but we, when we got the message, you know, uh, hey, dan just had a hole in one we're like, oh, they're fucking with us, because we would have heard him.

00:14:17.466 --> 00:14:22.427
We didn't realize you guys were five holes ahead of us.

00:14:22.427 --> 00:14:27.101
So when we realized that, we're like, oh okay, well, that makes a little bit more sense why we didn't hear them.

00:14:27.101 --> 00:14:29.647
Because they're so far away from us.

00:14:29.647 --> 00:14:32.893
Yeah, but yeah it was.

00:14:32.932 --> 00:14:35.323
It was cool man, it was so cool I.

00:14:35.484 --> 00:14:39.659
I wish I could have seen it, but I'm glad that jeremy was there and got to see it.

00:14:39.659 --> 00:14:45.293
And uh, now we can say as a collective, the, the CDP, has seven hole-in-ones.

00:14:47.240 --> 00:14:47.341
And.

00:14:47.541 --> 00:14:49.043
Dan has six, I have one.

00:14:49.043 --> 00:14:51.008
Come on, guys.

00:14:52.650 --> 00:14:53.211
Working on it.

00:14:53.673 --> 00:14:54.514
Yeah, we'll be okay.

00:14:54.514 --> 00:14:55.798
Me and Jeremy will be okay.

00:14:57.323 --> 00:15:09.879
So we flew out Saturday morning, got to the airport early, went to, we flew into Portlandland uh drove down to uh rosemead.

00:15:09.879 --> 00:15:10.620
Is that what it is right?

00:15:10.740 --> 00:15:14.187
yeah roseburg, roseburg, roseburg I'm terrible with city names.

00:15:14.970 --> 00:15:23.890
Uh went to roseburg and played uh bar run, which um was a lot of fun it was a lot of fun.

00:15:23.931 --> 00:15:24.250
It was.

00:15:24.250 --> 00:15:25.833
It was a lot of fun um.

00:15:25.953 --> 00:15:37.163
So this this trip we played as an eight ball three times yeah, which is cool we did it at bar run, we did it at preserve and we wrapped it up on shorties.

00:15:37.163 --> 00:15:41.755
Um, did we all hold dan to the tab?

00:15:41.755 --> 00:15:43.841
Uh, beds is asking sorry, jumped in late.

00:15:43.841 --> 00:15:45.224
Did y'all hold dan to the tab?

00:15:45.825 --> 00:15:51.360
dan was a fucking gentleman if I do have to say yeah, and he, and he came out on top, he came out on top.

00:15:51.542 --> 00:16:02.034
Yeah, we treated him worse, for sure we were playing a buck, a yard for any ace, so he he netted a grand from everybody and bought everybody's food and drinks that night.

00:16:02.034 --> 00:16:10.500
So dan was an utter gentleman about it because he could have gone right to the pro shop and spent all that money on gear, but he helped his family the one, the one.

00:16:10.681 --> 00:16:35.485
The one thing, though, that I didn't get was colby bob and steve's meal, because they went ahead and ordered and I didn't know that oh shit I didn't know that that's yeah yeah, bb and f goes from roseburg miles confirmed I remember I remember derek, uh, golfing with dad, told me that and I I forgot about it, it slipped my mind oh man, we could have gone by and loaded man.

00:16:36.687 --> 00:16:44.390
Yeah, that's a cool place to be oh, yeah, yeah, they got it, they got a sizzler man, I mean yeah.

00:16:44.431 --> 00:16:45.714
And a fucking sizzler dude.

00:16:46.441 --> 00:16:47.364
Joe the Wanderer.

00:16:47.926 --> 00:16:48.649
Joe's highlight.

00:16:49.759 --> 00:16:50.844
Yeah, so.

00:16:51.004 --> 00:16:52.028
Bar Run was a trip.

00:16:52.028 --> 00:16:53.767
It's a relatively new course.

00:16:53.767 --> 00:16:59.145
It's from the same designer that Bandon Crossing is Any others, Joe, that you?

00:16:59.782 --> 00:17:00.404
Wine Valley.

00:17:02.408 --> 00:17:03.379
It's a fun layout.

00:17:03.379 --> 00:17:07.561
It's got some decent scenery, not crazy scenery.

00:17:07.561 --> 00:17:09.228
It's kind of in a meadow-y area.

00:17:09.228 --> 00:17:13.041
You've got hills in the background and I was really surprised.

00:17:13.041 --> 00:17:15.268
The only wildlife we saw were birds and ducks.

00:17:15.789 --> 00:17:18.980
Uh, and bugs because I got bit a shit.

00:17:19.280 --> 00:17:25.993
Oh joe well, that's because you were hitting golf balls out of the orchard, the Berwick hole.

00:17:25.993 --> 00:17:28.588
Everybody did pretty good on that hole.

00:17:29.603 --> 00:17:30.567
We got some video of that.

00:17:31.541 --> 00:17:33.608
So I have to share some of those.

00:17:33.608 --> 00:17:49.701
But that was a fun court and we played as an eight and four hours, so for all you slow ass players out there four hours.

00:17:49.721 --> 00:17:50.585
So yeah, for all you slow ass players.

00:17:50.605 --> 00:17:52.049
Uh, brian or is asking how did everyone uh fair on the north?

00:17:52.049 --> 00:17:54.638
Barricole barricole just said we got some video of that yeah, yeah, I got a par.

00:17:54.679 --> 00:17:58.388
I remember that I hit a fucking sick ass flop over the wall.

00:17:59.271 --> 00:18:06.468
That's when uh that was a great shot, joe, I really was but you had the camera set up at the wrong spot, wrong side but you know, yeah, from the other side.

00:18:06.528 --> 00:18:09.861
So yeah, so we might have to do a little medley that was the whole.

00:18:09.980 --> 00:18:12.388
Thing bob, mine and bob's balls touched.

00:18:12.388 --> 00:18:13.451
Yeah, yeah, we got.

00:18:13.511 --> 00:18:17.703
We got in front of the wall shot, over the wall, shot on top of the wall shot.

00:18:17.703 --> 00:18:21.131
So, um, yeah, that was, that was.

00:18:21.431 --> 00:18:31.119
But that was a fun course and really crazy laid back, I think, you know, after it's there a couple of years and those greens are matured because they were firm but they rolled fantastic.

00:18:31.119 --> 00:18:32.906
I mean gosh, they rolled so good.

00:18:32.906 --> 00:18:41.808
Um, little squishy in a couple of areas but uh, you know, the the back-to-back par threes and the three five, three five was kind of fun.

00:18:41.808 --> 00:18:45.867
Um, definitely, uh, uh, worth a stop.

00:18:45.867 --> 00:18:51.708
There's, like joe said, there's there's a sizzler and uh, there's not much else in there.

00:18:51.708 --> 00:19:00.540
Um, but uh, I hear you know some the caddies have told us about that place and they say that you know that's there and crossings is where they like to go.

00:19:00.540 --> 00:19:08.182
So, uh, it's, it's fun and it's very laid back, it's an rv park and it is an rv park that has a golf course.

00:19:08.263 --> 00:19:10.307
It's not a golf course near an rv park.

00:19:10.307 --> 00:19:12.093
It's an rv park that has a golf course.

00:19:12.093 --> 00:19:16.788
Yeah, um, the it's very quaint, it's very laid back.

00:19:16.788 --> 00:19:22.222
You look, we'll get into this a minute, but the, the t-shirts on the golf course.

00:19:22.222 --> 00:19:33.689
If, if that offends, you do not go to bar run, not only will you see t-shirts, you'll see t-shirts, you'll see tank tops you'll see cut-off jeans.

00:19:33.689 --> 00:19:38.166
You'll see flip-flops, you'll see guys hitting 14 shots on one hole.

00:19:38.166 --> 00:19:41.829
I mean, it's after drinking a keg of Pabst.

00:19:42.621 --> 00:19:43.601
It's a bar run.

00:19:43.601 --> 00:19:45.452
That pool area was pretty litty After drinking a keg of Pabst, so it's a.

00:19:45.492 --> 00:19:45.915
it's a bar run.

00:19:45.915 --> 00:19:46.519
It's yeah, it's yeah.

00:19:47.140 --> 00:19:53.390
That pool area was pretty litty too, man it was that was some stanky pee water.

00:19:54.121 --> 00:19:56.048
You can tell it had been in there for a while.

00:19:56.048 --> 00:19:58.647
But really cool, really cool place.

00:19:58.647 --> 00:20:07.987
If you're in the area, make sure you check out bar run and they got some really cool merch Joe picked up one of the shirts.

00:20:07.987 --> 00:20:11.339
He got American flags on the back of the shirts and real simple logo Alright.

00:20:11.339 --> 00:20:16.560
We got Dan's Ace Talked about Bar Run Alright.

00:20:16.560 --> 00:20:23.948
So Jeremy is the only newbie that's on, because all the other newbies Bob Colby and Trey aren't on the show.

00:20:23.948 --> 00:20:32.734
And I didn't post a whole lot on our IG page for the podcast because you know it was kind of a group outing.

00:20:32.734 --> 00:20:34.425
I didn't really want us to take over.

00:20:34.425 --> 00:20:46.601
We got to play a couple of times I was really happy about that at the courses that I really wanted us to play together, and that was Old Mac and Trails, and I got to see Jeremy's face as he came over the hill at number three.

00:20:46.601 --> 00:20:49.446
Um, video is hilarious.

00:20:49.446 --> 00:20:51.270
But uh, what was your?

00:20:51.270 --> 00:20:52.092
What was your thought?

00:20:52.112 --> 00:21:02.585
I know it's, it's tough when you have expectations and we threw a ton of expectations on you yeah and we said, no matter what we say, it's not going to live up to it because it's so much better.

00:21:02.585 --> 00:21:03.665
Um, what?

00:21:03.665 --> 00:21:05.808
What were your thoughts on?

00:21:05.808 --> 00:21:08.373
On old mac and in bandon in general?

00:21:08.413 --> 00:21:17.488
we can, we can do that so I watched, not a ton of video, but just like some random golf club videos at bandon and maybe some.

00:21:17.488 --> 00:21:21.781
No, laying up and video does not do that place justice at all.

00:21:21.781 --> 00:21:22.001
It's.

00:21:22.001 --> 00:21:23.263
It's a totally different.

00:21:23.263 --> 00:21:31.535
Like you, you can get an idea like directions, the holes go and stuff, but being there in person is just something different.

00:21:31.535 --> 00:21:39.704
It's something else, like the views that, the amount of elevation, just the small little walks from the green to the t's some of them are pretty crazy.

00:21:39.704 --> 00:21:41.688
Um, you don't get that on video.

00:21:41.688 --> 00:21:44.211
Um, I, I loved it.

00:21:44.211 --> 00:21:52.752
I wish I wouldn't have injured myself because I don't think I enjoyed some of the courses as much as I could have.

00:21:52.752 --> 00:22:01.945
Maybe, um, specifically packed dunes, I I deeply regret being in pain playing that course, cause that was a highlight of the trip for me.

00:22:01.945 --> 00:22:06.980
That course is um Matt, um matt, but, but the walk up by the ghost tree.

00:22:06.980 --> 00:22:15.829
That ghost tree is so massive, like I, I mean you, it's a tree but you get there it's like looking at the statue of liberty, it's like the craziest thing you walk around

00:22:16.029 --> 00:22:18.663
and then all the different angles of the tree is just.

00:22:18.663 --> 00:22:20.404
That was surreal.

00:22:20.404 --> 00:22:20.925
For sure.

00:22:20.925 --> 00:22:24.892
That was definitely a highlight, um.

00:22:24.892 --> 00:22:40.809
But there's so many of those like when you, when you step up um number three there, you get up by the shack on number five, six, six, the view backwards towards the clubhouse, just seeing everything there.

00:22:40.809 --> 00:22:44.185
I mean it's, it's unbelievable sheep ranch views.

00:22:44.185 --> 00:22:49.807
I could go on all day about it, but, dude, it was amazing, I loved every second of it.

00:22:50.469 --> 00:23:02.346
I think what's so great about abandon is it like gives you so many moments to where it's like there's a reveal and there's like a curtain pulled back and it's like welcome to old mac.

00:23:02.686 --> 00:23:10.279
And it's like you get to that hole by the turn shack and you look back and it's like this is where you came from and this is where you're going.

00:23:10.279 --> 00:23:12.224
And then you get to the other hole.

00:23:12.224 --> 00:23:40.181
That's by the turn shack and it's like you've traveled all this and you've you're about to traverse this rest of it and some of it you can't see and like, oh gee, it's like you, the first time you see the ocean on four, it's like, okay, now you're going this way and like trails, you get to the hill where you cried and it was awesome, you know, and it's like throwing it in there and then sheep, it's like a walk in the park and you're along the ocean.

00:23:40.181 --> 00:23:42.905
It's like you're on the beach but you you're playing golf and it's.

00:23:42.905 --> 00:23:52.326
There's so many amazing moments out there and you just have no video, like you said, can do it justice and it's you just gotta go.

00:23:53.348 --> 00:23:54.613
You have to yeah.

00:23:55.319 --> 00:23:59.328
I think the videos I there's some videos that that can.

00:23:59.328 --> 00:24:00.972
I don't know.

00:24:00.972 --> 00:24:07.993
I'm not a big fan of aerials, because I like seeing the golf course from the ground, because I don't get to go up into a drone and view the golf courses.

00:24:07.993 --> 00:24:10.163
You know, you don't see it that way.

00:24:10.163 --> 00:24:14.365
When you're playing, you play it from the ground and so I like seeing those shots.

00:24:14.365 --> 00:24:16.270
It's fun seeing, seeing them.

00:24:16.270 --> 00:24:27.347
Don't get me wrong, but I can't get excited about aerials anymore because it's just it's nothing like what you see on the ground aerials anymore because it's just it's nothing like what you see on the ground.

00:24:27.347 --> 00:24:29.278
But there's some really good videos out there that really showcase some of the good holes.

00:24:29.278 --> 00:24:31.503
That gives you a eye opening, you know, to what it is.

00:24:32.165 --> 00:24:45.166
I was telling jeremy, you know, on sheep ranch they have so many iconic aerial views where you can see the contours of the greens and the surroundings and the drop offs, and and then you're there and you just don't see that.

00:24:45.288 --> 00:24:47.932
So it's nice knowing that it's there.

00:24:47.932 --> 00:24:59.750
But you know, if you're, if you're like nine, nine has this spectacular, you know, drop off, all, all the, the whole green drops off and goes down away from it.

00:24:59.750 --> 00:25:06.249
And you know, if you hit your ball on the green and you two putt and then you go on to the next hole, you're oblivious to that.

00:25:06.249 --> 00:25:07.305
You don't see it.

00:25:07.305 --> 00:25:18.415
So unless you're a wanderer like Joe, where you just you know, take five and disappear for 10 minutes every other hole, you miss out on some of that stuff.

00:25:18.415 --> 00:25:22.308
So that's where I think the aerials can kind of come in to help.

00:25:22.308 --> 00:25:24.292
You know that those spots are there.

00:25:27.027 --> 00:25:27.268
But Dan.

00:25:27.268 --> 00:25:28.641
So hold on real quick, jeremy.

00:25:28.641 --> 00:25:36.040
So, as much as we've hyped up, banded like, did it exceed your expectations or were you let down in any way?

00:25:36.040 --> 00:25:42.650
Because I mean, it's, it's one of the, the meccas, it's like magical right.

00:25:42.650 --> 00:26:06.900
So it's like, and you said you didn't, you didn't go full in on um, digging into every video that you could possibly watch, or the aerials on the on the website, which I did before I went, and you know when you typically, when you do that, you're let down a little bit because you hype yourself up so much, and I know you were hyped, but did it let you down or did it, like, exceed your expectations?

00:26:06.900 --> 00:26:08.907
Because I think that's what Matt was trying to get at.

00:26:09.740 --> 00:26:10.903
Yeah, I don't think it.

00:26:10.903 --> 00:26:13.779
I think, being there, it exceeded my expectations.

00:26:13.779 --> 00:26:24.963
Like there's one area where it sort of was like, okay, that was cool, but it didn't really exceed my expectations, and that was Preserve.

00:26:24.963 --> 00:26:25.651
I do like Preserve cool, but it didn't really exceed my expectations.

00:26:25.651 --> 00:26:26.027
And that was preserve.

00:26:26.027 --> 00:26:35.406
I I do like preserve, but I it wasn't as spectacular as I thought it was going to be maybe I think that's because we didn't play it at sunset.

00:26:36.087 --> 00:26:42.721
It might be because that's most of the videos I watched and and stuff, and what you've told me in the past was preserve at sunset is the best.

00:26:42.721 --> 00:26:55.357
I mean I should have gone with you and bob that one afternoon, yeah, one evening, but yeah, I mean totally like just being there and the rooms, like the you're not even kidding about the showers, like they're the most incredible showers.

00:26:55.357 --> 00:26:59.685
The rooms are amazing, the shuttles, the service is awesome.

00:26:59.685 --> 00:27:05.074
Like it's just, it's way better than I expected, the whole experience.

00:27:05.515 --> 00:27:05.954
They hit it.

00:27:05.954 --> 00:27:08.028
They hit it hard at every.

00:27:08.721 --> 00:27:11.325
They do it right there, for sure, they definitely do it right.

00:27:11.700 --> 00:27:15.530
Except the order takers in the main restaurant.

00:27:15.530 --> 00:27:19.559
We were so close to a Robert sighting.

00:27:19.559 --> 00:27:38.521
So, he did so well to keep it to you know, robert, from appearing well an hour to get a pizza yeah, I think robert left the table, but definitely bob came back halfway through his trip to the restaurant, probably.

00:27:38.521 --> 00:27:44.574
Yeah yeah, we were telling steven, oh here, he is here, he must, he must, he must.

00:27:44.901 --> 00:27:48.711
Robert's here, he must have walked through the stones on the way to the restaurant.

00:27:50.323 --> 00:27:51.907
He probably went through the stones real quick.

00:27:51.907 --> 00:27:52.410
They diverted him.

00:27:52.770 --> 00:27:53.010
Yeah.

00:27:54.280 --> 00:27:56.449
We got a hostile customer, divert him to the stones.

00:27:56.820 --> 00:27:57.744
Go through the stones.

00:28:01.203 --> 00:28:02.910
Okay, we're about 30 minutes in.

00:28:02.910 --> 00:28:06.651
Let's take a quick break and handle some business.

00:28:45.792 --> 00:28:46.134
maybe.

00:28:46.134 --> 00:29:06.288
Yeah, I did see there, I did see the GT3 driver and it's it's like back to the old Titleist days, so that could possibly be hitting a bag near me soon we'll see you.

00:29:06.288 --> 00:29:15.123
You also have a new putter I do and it's still in plastic and I don't know if it's staying that's, it might get listed.

00:29:15.143 --> 00:29:30.049
That was gonna be the question oh, so this is the triple black, which one thing I didn't know is that it I mean it makes sense triple black, but it comes with the black shaft long neck, okay, yeah.

00:29:30.049 --> 00:29:45.173
So I do want the shaft out of it to put in my gamer, but I I hit a few putts with it inside and it it doesn't feel that different than mine, but I probably need to take it outside and try it out, but it's pretty good.

00:29:45.292 --> 00:29:45.413
How.

00:29:45.413 --> 00:29:46.602
What's the toe hang like on it.

00:29:48.165 --> 00:29:50.471
Uh, good question, I haven't even is it?

00:29:51.240 --> 00:29:54.106
is it close to face balance Cause long neck should make it a lot more face.

00:29:54.186 --> 00:29:59.486
Oh yeah, see if I can like six degrees maybe, yeah, it's just hardly any.

00:29:59.486 --> 00:30:06.284
So that's what I love about the old it's pretty.

00:30:06.284 --> 00:30:06.805
I'll tell you that.

00:30:06.805 --> 00:30:14.631
It is nice for sure, and I'm sure the plastic on the grip are they already going for double what you paid on ebay yeah, and I I mean it's.

00:30:14.631 --> 00:30:17.317
It's not special like the terrarium, was that.

00:30:17.317 --> 00:30:21.446
I regret selling every single day of my life, but it's it's.

00:30:21.446 --> 00:30:28.029
I think the long neck is special enough to where people might in a year maybe pay more for it.

00:30:28.049 --> 00:30:29.555
Trade somebody for a trillium?

00:30:30.317 --> 00:30:35.871
that's what I was thinking yeah, if you have a trillium out there, a t22, let me know.

00:30:35.871 --> 00:30:37.413
And you want a long neck?

00:30:38.056 --> 00:30:39.057
oh, hey, look brian.

00:30:39.057 --> 00:30:44.472
Or this comment from brian, or the showers abandoned used to suck like needles hitting you.

00:30:44.472 --> 00:30:50.190
After multiple visits, we sat down with marketing director and told him our items and shower heads were brutal.

00:30:50.190 --> 00:30:51.491
Next visit they were all new.

00:30:51.491 --> 00:30:54.967
Wow, thank you, brian, because they are amazing.

00:30:55.961 --> 00:30:57.708
Yeah they're great.

00:30:58.361 --> 00:31:01.103
The best shower heads I being.

00:31:01.163 --> 00:31:01.683
I love how.

00:31:01.683 --> 00:31:03.669
I love how big the shower is too.

00:31:03.669 --> 00:31:06.301
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, you know sick.

00:31:06.382 --> 00:31:07.265
I just stood in that thing.

00:31:07.265 --> 00:31:11.383
You guys were playing back and I was like I was gonna go take a shower and I stood in there.

00:31:11.383 --> 00:31:17.300
I I swear I was in there for like 45 minutes, just uh it feels so good.

00:31:17.441 --> 00:31:19.727
It's something about that water we need to get.

00:31:19.727 --> 00:31:28.913
We need to get brian on um one of these days, because I'd love to hear his experience at sheep ranch, because he played it for the old yeah, he played the original.

00:31:29.034 --> 00:31:37.409
So one of these days and you know he played with some hickories by the way, joe, that t shot from what hole was that?

00:31:37.490 --> 00:31:40.115
17, where the original t box was?

00:31:40.115 --> 00:31:47.446
Yeah, yeah, that's the way to play that hole yeah, see 16 where we teed off from and then where?

00:31:47.567 --> 00:31:58.016
the new tee is yeah, fuck yeah oh, it's it makes it so different and trey birdie that trey made an absolute banger of a birdie on that oh yeah, I.

00:31:58.056 --> 00:32:16.074
I asked uh jeremy about this, but he he said you didn't, uh joe didn't show you the t-box where you used to hit to the par 3 green, to the 16 green from the 17th fairway no, so that was on the left side of the 17th fairway right as you're, as you walk up the t-box.

00:32:16.355 --> 00:32:25.894
Yeah, there's a patch of grass that goes off to where I think he probably, he probably pointed it out, but I was focused on making it to 18.

00:32:26.474 --> 00:32:26.954
Yeah.

00:32:27.921 --> 00:32:30.830
I wasn't paying attention to a lot of things, but I do remember seeing it.

00:32:30.830 --> 00:32:32.566
I just didn't go over and look at it.

00:32:33.087 --> 00:32:43.604
Yeah, standing there looking at that green from there, it's crazy, yeah, so all right.

00:32:43.604 --> 00:32:50.742
So we covered sheep, we covered mac, we covered preserve, all right.

00:32:50.742 --> 00:33:02.344
So for all the newbies it was almost, I think it was four for four everybody thought, well, no, I think bob was the only one that didn't think trails was the best yeah, bob loved sheep, he loved sheep ranch.

00:33:02.423 --> 00:33:03.868
I was very surprised, though.

00:33:04.119 --> 00:33:07.008
Very surprised because I thought he would have the same.

00:33:07.087 --> 00:33:07.809
I hated it.

00:33:07.809 --> 00:33:09.073
I thought it was Robert.

00:33:09.880 --> 00:33:15.246
Yeah, I thought he was going to have the same feeling about it that Colby did, because Colby didn't like it at all.

00:33:15.246 --> 00:33:26.721
Colby was like I don't like it, you can just bomb it anywhere and he goes, goes, that's just.

00:33:26.721 --> 00:33:27.423
It wasn't for me.

00:33:27.423 --> 00:33:30.208
Um bob really liked it though, but uh, trails was overwhelmingly wowed by the newbies.

00:33:31.048 --> 00:33:38.368
Um jeremy give us your, give us your thoughts on trails because, like I said, for me it's my favorite course on the planet.

00:33:38.368 --> 00:33:43.372
Um, joe said it was more than likely going to change his number one after playing it again.

00:33:44.134 --> 00:33:53.843
Um, I'd love to hear what you think yeah, and we we played it in the afternoon so we got the evening shadows, which I think really added to that place.

00:33:53.843 --> 00:34:10.681
Um, but trails is is my favorite course I've ever played anywhere and it's just amazing how the round progresses from you're in the dunes, you move to the meadow and then you're just in the trees and then you're kind of back through that that process.

00:34:10.681 --> 00:34:12.967
But the holes, the every hole.

00:34:12.967 --> 00:34:14.891
I was just excited to see what was next.

00:34:14.891 --> 00:34:21.393
Like with the other courses, you can see kind of what's coming up in a way on most of the courses.

00:34:21.393 --> 00:34:23.347
Trails was a little different.

00:34:23.347 --> 00:34:37.853
I felt like because you'll, you'll cut through those little uh paths in the forest, yeah, the little trails are so good oh, and then it's just something completely different, or like every hole was like a surprise.

00:34:39.302 --> 00:34:41.748
Um course was in incredible shape.

00:34:41.748 --> 00:34:43.452
The greens were really really nice.

00:34:43.452 --> 00:34:49.746
Um, it was fairly windy, but once we got into the trees there was hardly anything.

00:34:49.746 --> 00:34:56.925
Um, and the walk wasn't bad, but I also had a caddy, so that probably helped.

00:34:56.925 --> 00:35:00.873
But, man, what a to kyle uh yeah, he's a great caddy he's.

00:35:01.092 --> 00:35:06.349
He's a big podcast listener and said he would tune in, so he was amazing, he, he nailed every read.

00:35:06.349 --> 00:35:08.052
I mean every read.

00:35:08.052 --> 00:35:17.143
And I said you know I put a post up that I know why I suck so bad at putting abandoned is because I can't read the greens, for shit he was a golfer's golfer man.

00:35:17.664 --> 00:35:20.126
Yeah, ruined through well dude was a stick he knew

00:35:20.146 --> 00:35:27.061
his shit for sure, yeah and uh, um, I mean, nailed every, every putt, every putt.

00:35:27.061 --> 00:35:32.322
He had a perfect read and the only time I didn't hit a good putt it was on me, not because of his read.

00:35:32.322 --> 00:35:34.525
So, um, kudos to him.

00:35:34.525 --> 00:35:36.489
Uh, big big aussie.

00:35:36.489 --> 00:35:45.150
So if, uh, you want a really good, knowledgeable caddy, abandon kyle the big aussie.

00:35:45.150 --> 00:35:47.494
Big, huge, beautiful man.

00:35:47.494 --> 00:35:48.114
Beard on that guy.

00:35:48.114 --> 00:35:53.750
Yeah, um, okay, so trail and dan trail still your favorite?

00:35:54.471 --> 00:36:16.146
oh no, doubt no doubt all right, joe, no doubt did it surpass it's really, it's really hard for me because the course I look forward to playing the most is trails, but like I really really appreciate the architecture and what doke did on pack dunes, um, so I think I think there's two different ones.

00:36:16.146 --> 00:36:29.985
It's like if I was to go out there and play the courses I wanted to play, trails would probably be first, but I appreciate pack dunes and what doke did out there so much.

00:36:29.985 --> 00:36:32.652
It's like it's hard, you know they're.

00:36:32.652 --> 00:36:34.282
They're kind of a battle for first.

00:36:34.282 --> 00:36:56.041
Um, but if I was, if I was given one round out there, oh it would it probably be trails, because I've played pack dunes twice now and the second time I was walking sideways because my knee, uh, so I probably give it to trails currently, but they are.

00:36:56.041 --> 00:36:56.983
They are two.

00:36:57.543 --> 00:37:05.701
Both of them are incredible golf courses and you didn't play it when you guys went in march no, we didn't play pack, oh, wow, um, yeah.

00:37:05.760 --> 00:37:15.403
So brian or says old mac here, and, and for me that's if, if I was given three rounds out there, it would be trails, pack and mac.

00:37:15.403 --> 00:37:18.668
Um, yeah, that's it.

00:37:18.668 --> 00:37:19.351
That's it for me.

00:37:19.351 --> 00:37:27.443
Yeah, I did, I did, I did like sheep a little more this time um, I don't know what it was, but I did like sheep a little bit more.

00:37:27.443 --> 00:37:38.677
And, og, like I've played it more than any of them, I still love 16 and I love four and I love five, but uh, yeah, I don't know.

00:37:38.978 --> 00:37:40.862
You know, it's always, it's constantly changing.

00:37:40.862 --> 00:37:43.925
Every time you go out there you get a different experience every time.

00:37:43.925 --> 00:37:50.059
But trails, pack, mac, those are the three you can't skip, like you got to play them.

00:37:50.059 --> 00:37:53.150
And the more you play old mac, the better it gets.

00:37:53.150 --> 00:37:57.623
And that's the thing like a lot of people hate on old mac when they get out there.

00:37:57.623 --> 00:38:08.193
It doesn't have the views, but it has the architecture and it has the history and there's a lot to it and you just have to play it a few more times and and you'll learn to appreciate it.

00:38:08.619 --> 00:38:10.989
It's such a hard course that is so much fun to play.

00:38:12.760 --> 00:38:14.724
Yeah, it, yeah.

00:38:14.724 --> 00:38:20.387
It takes a while to understand what old Mac is, and the more you play it, the more you'll get it.

00:38:21.041 --> 00:38:23.789
Man, we got it on an overcast kind of day.

00:38:23.789 --> 00:38:28.972
I mean, I was constantly wiping the rain dots off my glasses, little breezy.

00:38:28.972 --> 00:38:38.367
But man, it was crazy because like the sun would kind of peek through the clouds and like, okay, take the hoodie off, and then you play two holes and like oh, we got to put the hoodie back on.

00:38:38.367 --> 00:38:40.302
Oh, play two holes, okay, take the hoodie off.

00:38:40.302 --> 00:38:44.753
It was like you'd sweat and then you were cold and you'd sweat and then you were cold.

00:38:44.753 --> 00:38:48.731
But a fun walk, great first round.

00:38:50.282 --> 00:38:54.927
It's a, it's one of those moments where you'll never forget, right.

00:38:54.927 --> 00:39:02.811
So it's like you crest the hill of the Ghost Tree Hill and it's just like it is the welcome to Disneyland moment.

00:39:02.811 --> 00:39:14.585
It is like you're here, you've waited forever and I I'm very happy that we played that first, because it's a, it's nostalgic, right Like that'll be cemented in your brain forever.

00:39:14.585 --> 00:39:28.489
You know, and and sheep, sheep ranch gives you that on one, but then it kind of like falls off because you can see everything and, um, yeah, everything and um, yeah, I mean yeah, totally.

00:39:28.510 --> 00:39:33.704
But like, do you got your photo handy, is it close?

00:39:33.704 --> 00:39:35.369
Oh yeah actually it is.

00:39:35.369 --> 00:39:36.030
Hang on, give me a second.

00:39:36.030 --> 00:39:36.351
This is.

00:39:36.351 --> 00:39:40.088
This is a cool thing that that a lot of golf courses could take note.

00:39:40.088 --> 00:40:02.961
Yeah, so if you get a whole yeah, not all of them have the budget that bandon does, but uh, if, if you work at a golf course, uh, take note yeah, if you get a hole in one on any hole at bandon, they give you a a frame picture of that hole yeah, so and they're ready to go too.

00:40:03.063 --> 00:40:04.146
They gave it to him right away.

00:40:04.527 --> 00:40:05.210
That's cool.

00:40:05.210 --> 00:40:07.608
On the back to put the scorecard.

00:40:08.699 --> 00:40:14.927
Scorecard on the back Dan had the 130th hole in one on Sheep Ranch.

00:40:15.489 --> 00:40:22.204
Pin was right there where my little light is, but no, it's cool.

00:40:28.780 --> 00:40:29.460
Yeah, that was awesome.

00:40:29.460 --> 00:40:29.661
Yeah, yeah.

00:40:29.661 --> 00:40:30.603
So I have a, I have a bit of a hot take.

00:40:30.603 --> 00:40:30.724
Do it.

00:40:30.724 --> 00:40:31.405
Yeah, let's hear it.

00:40:31.405 --> 00:40:34.590
So, and this might, this might be due to factors.

00:40:34.992 --> 00:40:43.494
This is gonna make joe cry no okay so it's gonna make me yell at you maybe so.

00:40:45.117 --> 00:40:51.929
One thing I've heard from a lot of people is that number one at sheep ranch is one of the best starting holes in ever.

00:40:51.929 --> 00:40:59.027
I didn't feel that way, and it might be partly because I hit my drive 90 degrees off.

00:40:59.027 --> 00:41:11.393
Oh, yeah, you hit the tree you hit one of the trees my vision was still blurred and it was yeah, anyway, I hit the, I hit a, I hit the flag on the practice screen right of the t-box.

00:41:11.632 --> 00:41:18.172
But well, yeah, I don't think I didn't feel like it was something that special to me.

00:41:18.172 --> 00:41:22.170
I mean, it's cool, like, of course, when you get over the hill, the view and it's downhill to the green.

00:41:22.170 --> 00:41:23.764
But okay.

00:41:23.824 --> 00:41:27.664
So if you're going to make that statement, what is the best opening hole in golf?

00:41:29.400 --> 00:41:32.367
Like ever in golf or abandoned Anywhere.

00:41:32.367 --> 00:41:39.628
I don't know, I just didn't feel like it was any more special than a lot of holes that I could think of.

00:41:39.628 --> 00:41:41.925
I'll get back to you on that.

00:41:42.079 --> 00:41:43.306
Like one at Wild Horse.

00:41:44.101 --> 00:41:45.284
One of my favorites.

00:41:45.346 --> 00:41:46.007
It's pretty nice.

00:41:48.661 --> 00:41:49.606
It is a great hole.

00:41:49.606 --> 00:41:57.545
I think what makes it special Is there's no other Opening hole in golf when it's framed by trees.

00:41:57.545 --> 00:42:01.820
And then it puts you into the ocean Automatically.

00:42:01.820 --> 00:42:10.074
I think that's why people think there's no other hole when you just go into the ocean automatically, and I think that's why people think like there's no other hole where you just go into the ocean off the bat.

00:42:10.094 --> 00:42:14.489
True, I think one of my favorite dance questioning that one of my favorite tobacco road.

00:42:14.630 --> 00:42:22.210
One is really good, brian, or yeah, that is a good one one of my favorite opening holes in golf is at a course that I don't like and that's wolf creek.

00:42:22.210 --> 00:42:36.731
I think the first hole of wolf creek is really really good, um, and then it all goes downhill from there, but, um, yeah, I'm trying to think of other shots that.

00:42:36.731 --> 00:42:43.644
I mean it's, it's a really I think it's a really good opening hole because you have everything.

00:42:43.644 --> 00:42:48.454
So, just right there you got to the left of it, you got the whole course, you can see everything.

00:42:48.454 --> 00:42:52.826
And it's kind of this mystery to what you're going to get, you know, because you can't see the ocean.

00:42:52.826 --> 00:42:54.146
It kind of drops off.

00:42:54.239 --> 00:42:55.465
You got trees left and right.

00:42:55.465 --> 00:43:00.364
You got this shoot that you got it's a par five and you get up there and you hit your shot.

00:43:00.364 --> 00:43:24.260
And as you're walking to it, if you hit a good shot unlike myself and Jeremy you get to walk over the hill and you look down and then it's just like there's the ocean and here's this whole green, you and you got the dead trees on 17 there and it's just it's kind of a, you know, surreal moment because they're like Joe said, there isn't a lot of shots in golf like that for an opening hole.

00:43:24.260 --> 00:43:29.599
In my opinion, the course goes all downhill from there yeah, yeah, and that's what I think, I think.

00:43:29.721 --> 00:43:55.610
I think I think sheep ranch shows its its face a little too early and that might be why the first hole is so good, because it's like you're here, like welcome, and it's it's I mean, if you watch the no laying up videos, it's the welcome to jurassic park moment and it's like it just reveals itself to you right off the bat and there's no suspense or mystery beyond that.

00:43:56.550 --> 00:44:05.923
And that's why, like on number three, you don't want to go long because you're going to lose some of the excitement that you're going to get on 16.

00:44:06.346 --> 00:44:38.838
So it's like and that's what I did first time I played it, I went long on number three and then I saw that that little peak of the coastline too early, and I think that's might be one of the reasons why it's not one of my favorites is because it just it gives you too much too early and it's like you want, you want to build, you want the crescendo, you want the, the, the, the final act, to be the, the boom moment, and it, the boom moment, comes way too early for you.

00:44:38.838 --> 00:44:45.193
But that's why people love sheep so much is because it gives you those hit after hit.

00:44:45.193 --> 00:44:50.896
And if you don't, if you don't look at the story like I do, then people just see the.

00:44:50.896 --> 00:44:55.166
You know the drama concurrently and over and over and over again.

00:44:55.166 --> 00:45:03.188
But I saw it too early and that's why I think it's, I think it's one of my um, I think it's why it's on the bottom of the totem for me.

00:45:03.208 --> 00:45:05.050
I just, I think it's one of my um, I think it's why it's on the bottom of the totem.

00:45:05.050 --> 00:45:05.411
For me it's just.

00:45:05.411 --> 00:45:11.027
I think it just pales in comparison to the other four yeah, I mean it's.

00:45:11.288 --> 00:45:21.414
It's still a great golf course and what they did out there to fit that golf course on that land is is special, um, and the story behind it.

00:45:21.414 --> 00:45:22.014
You know.

00:45:22.014 --> 00:45:32.512
Kaiser bought the land and if we can't make work then we'll turn it into a sheep ranch and that's why it's called Sheep Ranch, and the original 13 greens that Tom Doak built and the original tee boxes.

00:45:32.512 --> 00:45:36.090
There's so much history out there which makes it so special.

00:45:36.090 --> 00:46:00.885
But I just think it doesn't give you the excitement that the others do, because it shows you peaks here and there, like oh, that's the ocean, but on sheep ranch it's like that is the ocean, you know, and the volcano hole is volcano hole might be the greatest hole out there on sheet, like for real, you know, um, and there's no ocean next to the volcano hole.

00:46:02.909 --> 00:46:05.503
So Chapman's chiming in the judge at Capitol Hill.

00:46:05.503 --> 00:46:09.172
The R2D trail in Alabama has a great opening hole.

00:46:09.172 --> 00:46:14.362
The first hole at Ross Bridge is solid, also don't know.

00:46:14.362 --> 00:46:22.485
We didn't get to play because somebody poisoned the greens yeah, so yeah, yeah, I, I yeah.

00:46:22.784 --> 00:46:31.849
I mean the the first hole at sheep feels like an 18th hole kind of you know, and I think, that's why I think that's why it's considered one of the the best opening holes.

00:46:31.849 --> 00:46:34.784
But I know there's many first holes out there.

00:46:34.784 --> 00:46:41.226
I haven't played so but I think Brian Orr with Tobacco Road number one is a really good contender on that.

00:46:41.608 --> 00:46:42.309
That's a good one.

00:46:42.309 --> 00:46:46.347
Kapalua one is pretty good too because you're kind of hitting towards the ocean.

00:46:46.347 --> 00:46:49.347
It's a pretty elevated view.

00:46:49.347 --> 00:46:55.746
It's kind of a weird hole, but I mean it's not epic by any means, but a cool view with the ocean.

00:46:56.659 --> 00:47:01.847
Man, it's hard not to be romantic about golf all right?

00:47:01.867 --> 00:47:03.210
well then, let's not get romantic.

00:47:03.210 --> 00:47:03.952
Let's, let's.

00:47:03.952 --> 00:47:13.228
Let's get this out there about the t-shirt bullshit, because uh, joe posted a video of me and him.

00:47:13.228 --> 00:47:14.170
We're having some fun.

00:47:14.170 --> 00:47:23.125
Uh, doing a little ctp action on the, uh, the fifth hole at, uh, old mac little par three crazy green.

00:47:23.125 --> 00:47:31.663
And uh, I was in a t-shirt because I had, I had my hoodie on and it got warm so I took it off.

00:47:31.663 --> 00:47:32.503
I had t-shirt on.

00:47:33.505 --> 00:47:38.411
Now I have 50, 100 polos in my closet.

00:47:38.411 --> 00:47:40.614
Every time I play golf, I wear a polo.

00:47:40.614 --> 00:47:47.353
Um, bandon is a little bit different, a little bit more relaxed, a little bit more laid back.

00:47:47.353 --> 00:47:48.661
I am not somebody that, like, does things to piss people off.

00:47:48.661 --> 00:47:48.822
I'm not.

00:47:48.822 --> 00:47:50.085
I'm not a rebel rouser.

00:47:50.085 --> 00:47:56.498
I'm not somebody that says, oh, I'm gonna play loud music just to piss people off.

00:47:56.498 --> 00:47:57.619
I'm not a rebel rouser.

00:47:57.619 --> 00:48:01.588
I'm not somebody that says, oh, I'm going to play loud music just to piss people off.

00:48:01.588 --> 00:48:03.465
I have respect for the game.

00:48:03.465 --> 00:48:04.704
I have respect for other people.

00:48:04.704 --> 00:48:10.846
Had anybody in the group with us bust, and said what the fuck are you doing wearing a t-shirt?

00:48:10.846 --> 00:48:14.509
Okay, let me throw my goal body back on.

00:48:17.163 --> 00:48:18.487
But that's not what it was about.

00:48:18.487 --> 00:48:19.409
That's not where we were.

00:48:19.409 --> 00:48:35.545
We were having a good time and you know, like Joe said me and him and our conversations back and forth about this it's one thing, out there wearing a sleeveless Budweiser t-shirt hacking up the golf course, that's not what we were doing.

00:48:35.545 --> 00:48:55.121
We're out there playing the game and, uh, we both agree, I think it's more damaging for people playing five and a half hour rounds of golf, um, dressed to the nines, looking like a tour pro, than somebody playing in four hours as an eight-some in a t-shirt.

00:48:55.121 --> 00:49:00.864
So, um, I I have respect for the game, I have respect for the history.

00:49:01.967 --> 00:49:03.751
Uh, I am not somebody who tucks my shirt in.

00:49:03.751 --> 00:49:13.510
I probably should, because I do look a little slobby, because I'm fat and short and extra larges are what fit me and they're a little long, so probably should be tucking in my shirt more than I do.

00:49:13.510 --> 00:49:16.003
Um, I don't have a problem tucking in my shirt.

00:49:16.003 --> 00:49:27.119
I just like to be comfortable, um, and I think abandoned it's the ultimate place to be comfortable and, uh, I don't think anybody has any issues with it, except for a few people.

00:49:27.119 --> 00:49:37.092
So, um, that being said, uh, if you ever wear a t-shirt in a vgn event, I will kick you off the fucking tour and I'm sorry um you know, we, we, we don't.

00:49:37.856 --> 00:49:46.862
it's very rare occasions where you're gonna find me in a t-shirt on a golf course walking 72 holes abandoned at the solstice.

00:49:46.862 --> 00:49:49.407
Goddamn right, I'm gonna be wearing a fucking t-shirt.

00:49:49.407 --> 00:50:00.509
Um, I've done it in polos, I've done it in a t-shirt, so it it's not a big deal to me Playing here in Vegas on the golf courses, out with people.

00:50:00.509 --> 00:50:01.990
Yeah, I wear a polo.

00:50:01.990 --> 00:50:06.076
I, you know, I, I, I like wearing golf polos, especially good ones.

00:50:06.076 --> 00:50:11.824
Sunday swagger makes them really damn good golf polos and I have no problem wearing them.

00:50:11.824 --> 00:50:14.510
It wasn't a disrespect thing, so okay.

00:50:14.789 --> 00:50:15.010
Yeah.

00:50:15.731 --> 00:50:16.293
Fire away Joe.

00:50:22.539 --> 00:50:24.164
Yeah, I mean I, I mean obviously, uh, respect thing.

00:50:24.164 --> 00:50:24.885
So, okay, yeah, fire away joe.

00:50:24.885 --> 00:50:47.179
Yeah, I mean I, I mean obviously, uh, I get where people are coming from and and miles messaged me about this and uh, he said, he said he would have a hard time, like wearing a t-shirt on pack dunes, which I totally get right, um, but you know, for me it's like if I'm wearing a t-shirt and the course is okay with me wearing a t-shirt and they don't say anything, I feel more comfortable on t-shirt.

00:50:47.179 --> 00:50:53.963
If they told me that I gotta wear a fucking suit on the golf course to play back dunes, I'll put a suit on.

00:50:53.963 --> 00:50:54.925
You know, there's.

00:50:55.425 --> 00:50:58.713
There's no disrespect, there's not going to be any pushback.

00:50:58.713 --> 00:51:03.644
If I got to wear a three-piece suit to play back dunes, I'll put it on.

00:51:03.644 --> 00:51:10.487
But there are appropriate moments to where you can wear a t-shirt.

00:51:10.487 --> 00:51:11.429
In my opinion.

00:51:11.429 --> 00:51:14.688
That is North Las Vegas, part 3, all day.

00:51:14.688 --> 00:51:20.684
And if you're wearing a tucked-in polo at North Las Vegas, part 3, there, and if you're wearing a tucked in polo at North Las Vegas, part three, there's probably something wrong with you.

00:51:21.085 --> 00:51:22.610
Yes, Get the fuck out.

00:51:22.610 --> 00:51:26.771
Your GPS took you to the wrong golf course Exactly.

00:51:27.541 --> 00:51:47.554
So there are moments where it is appropriate and I think, when the vibe fits, the moment, you get to vibe with the moment and and a t-shirt brings a relaxed vibe, totally 100, because people are free, feel freer.

00:51:47.554 --> 00:51:52.708
I had, I had multiple comments where, like, I wore a t-shirt at desert willow, shout out my homie louie.

00:51:52.708 --> 00:52:02.052
I wore a t-shirt and I was apologizing at desert willow like sorry, sorry because I was on the range practicing but I felt so free that I played better.

00:52:02.052 --> 00:52:17.231
You know, and it's you know, not no disrespect to the past of the game, but there are brands out there that are changing the, the gear of the times.

00:52:17.231 --> 00:52:18.661
You know it's, it's different.

00:52:18.661 --> 00:52:30.824
Now we're in 2024 and back in the seventies people used to wear suits to get on a plane and now everyone's in Lululemon and fucking welcome to Las Vegas, hoodies cloud shirt shoes.

00:52:31.867 --> 00:52:37.768
Exactly, and that that could be a sign of America's gotten lazy or America's got more comfortable, or however you want to see it.

00:52:37.768 --> 00:52:38.050
It could be something bigger.

00:52:38.050 --> 00:52:39.068
It could be a sign of America's gotten lazy or America's got more comfortable, or however you want to see it.

00:52:39.068 --> 00:52:47.782
It could be something bigger, it could be something less, but if I'm allowed to wear a T-shirt, I feel more comfortable on T-shirt and if I'm allowed to do it, I'm going to wear it.

00:52:47.782 --> 00:52:49.967
Dan, you're not.

00:52:49.967 --> 00:52:50.449
What do you think?

00:52:50.449 --> 00:52:52.132
I'm not showing up?

00:52:52.132 --> 00:52:52.934
I'm not showing up.

00:52:52.934 --> 00:52:54.702
I'm going to put this out there.

00:52:54.702 --> 00:52:55.403
I'm going to put this out there.

00:52:55.403 --> 00:52:58.451
I'm not showing up as a guest to a private course in a t-shirt.

00:52:58.451 --> 00:53:10.248
I'm tucking it in Total respect to you.

00:53:10.248 --> 00:53:12.559
But I'll show up to Goat Hill in a t-shirt because I know it's allowed, because the vibe is chill.

00:53:16.425 --> 00:53:23.219
But if you need me in a three-piece suit at your private club and you want to invite me, I'll wear a suit.

00:53:26.260 --> 00:53:26.983
I don't know if you can top that, dan.

00:53:26.983 --> 00:53:27.829
I mean I agree 100 with joe.

00:53:27.829 --> 00:53:41.114
I mean I live in t-shirts, I'm always in a t-shirt I would much rather wear a t-shirt on a golf course than a polo, but I don't, because I've been playing golf for 35 years and only until recently has t-shirts been ever even considered.

00:53:41.114 --> 00:53:47.233
Before it was always slacks polo shirt, slacks polo shirt, you know, shorts, whatever.

00:53:49.740 --> 00:53:52.289
Hey, definitely no denim, though no denim.

00:53:52.590 --> 00:53:53.231
Don't wear denim.

00:53:54.422 --> 00:53:55.768
That's the huge no-no.

00:53:56.280 --> 00:53:58.768
Yeah, that's one rule that we can keep forever for every golf course wear denim.

00:53:58.768 --> 00:53:59.650
That's the, that's the huge.

00:53:59.650 --> 00:53:59.771
No, no.

00:53:59.771 --> 00:54:01.557
Yeah, that's that's one rule that we can keep forever for every golf course.

00:54:01.557 --> 00:54:01.978
Yeah, no denim.

00:54:01.978 --> 00:54:04.925
But yeah, I, I would much rather be in a t-shirt than in a polo shirt.

00:54:04.925 --> 00:54:05.728
I'm.

00:54:05.728 --> 00:54:09.686
I agree with everything that Joe said.

00:54:09.686 --> 00:54:12.088
If I'm going to a private course, I'm with somebody's guest.

00:54:12.088 --> 00:54:16.525
Yes, I'm tucking that shit in because that's just what you do.

00:54:16.525 --> 00:54:17.186
That's what you do.

00:54:17.206 --> 00:54:22.896
But, yeah, courses like Goat Hill, abandoned par three courses, stuff like that.

00:54:22.896 --> 00:54:26.445
Yeah, I'm wearing a fucking T-shirt, I'm wearing a fucking T-shirt.

00:54:26.445 --> 00:54:30.971
And another thing is to me is like, besides that, who gives a fuck?

00:54:30.971 --> 00:54:36.271
I mean, what does a little flap of fabric have to do with fucking anything?

00:54:36.271 --> 00:54:40.925
I mean, yeah, yeah, I could beat your ass in a polo, I could beat your ass in a t-shirt.

00:54:40.925 --> 00:54:42.268
Well, it doesn't matter whatever.

00:54:42.349 --> 00:54:43.501
However, you want it you can get it.

00:54:44.083 --> 00:55:01.061
But uh, but seriously though, that like just that little collar, like, if it's, if people get in a, get their panties in a bunch over, just a little flap like that like a couple buttons to couple buttons oh yeah, I mean, there's so much bigger concerns in the world and if you're going to get mad at me and think I'm disrespectful because I'm wearing a t-shirt instead of a polo shirt.

00:55:01.081 --> 00:55:03.230
We should make just a collar and buttons.

00:55:05.242 --> 00:55:06.387
Yeah you totally could.

00:55:06.387 --> 00:55:09.409
I'm going to wear a t-shirt with a collar and buttons over it Collar and buttons.

00:55:11.541 --> 00:55:15.085
You throw that out on the first tee and then you take it off on the second that's it.

00:55:15.126 --> 00:55:15.867
That's perfect.

00:55:15.867 --> 00:55:19.972
Use those buttons to mark your ball and shit like the snap on ties clip on ties.

00:55:20.411 --> 00:55:28.231
You get a clip on collar yeah, let's fucking do that collared metallica t-shirt for real.

00:55:28.251 --> 00:55:39.342
Yeah, I mean I'm glad a lot of these rules are getting looser and almost every single major company like peril brand company has t-shirts now like foot joy makes t-shirts like everybody makes t-shirts.

00:55:39.342 --> 00:55:47.871
Malbons make t-shirts, odinus makes golf t-shirts they all make they're in the pro shops at every place they want you wearing the t-shirts out.

00:55:47.871 --> 00:55:57.047
I understand, but if you have a golf themed t-shirt or something that is appropriate for the golf course, cool, like you said, you know the budweiser the.

00:55:57.188 --> 00:55:58.972
I was wearing a PJ West t-shirt.

00:55:58.972 --> 00:56:01.628
It's not like I was wearing my mom.

00:56:02.460 --> 00:56:02.541
All.

00:56:02.601 --> 00:56:04.025
I got was his t-shirt.

00:56:04.045 --> 00:56:06.831
Yeah, exactly, you know, you know.

00:56:06.931 --> 00:56:09.762
I wrote desk, I wrote desperado at state line.

00:56:10.744 --> 00:56:12.507
Exactly, exactly.

00:56:13.068 --> 00:56:14.451
And got this Exactly.

00:56:16.614 --> 00:56:18.960
So, yeah, I'm pro t-shirts, let's go, let's go.

00:56:18.960 --> 00:56:19.742
T-shirts all the way.

00:56:21.306 --> 00:56:23.572
Love it, love it, all right, so we can squash that.

00:56:24.262 --> 00:56:30.298
Hey and way more disrespectful is slow play and not fixing your ball marks on the greens 100%.

00:56:30.298 --> 00:56:32.909
The greens are the heart of the golf course.

00:56:32.909 --> 00:56:41.007
Fix your fucking ball marks and if you don't fix two or three for every one of yours, then you're disrespectful did.

00:56:41.027 --> 00:56:45.166
It was great we were playing bar run because there was eight of us fixing pitch marks all over the place.

00:56:45.166 --> 00:57:03.286
They had more they were they had more pitch perks repaired on that day from our group than they've had in a month yeah, and six of us weren't wearing fucking t-shirts yeah, uh, that was, and, like I said, a ball played in four hours, so it can be done yeah, shut up our run.

00:57:03.306 --> 00:57:12.429
That was a cool little facility, man, yeah that was fun, okay, uh, so in, in not golf trip life um.

00:57:12.429 --> 00:57:24.425
The uh pga tour wrapped up its final season or not final season, its regular season finale at the Wyndham Two Gloves, aaron Rye got himself a W.

00:57:24.425 --> 00:57:28.262
How about the Kutcher move, did you guys?

00:57:28.322 --> 00:57:32.425
hear about that yeah yeah, fucking, mad doucher.

00:57:32.960 --> 00:57:34.327
Oh, what I mean.

00:57:36.237 --> 00:57:36.780
That's stupid.

00:57:36.780 --> 00:57:38.025
Did he actually hit into the group?

00:57:38.025 --> 00:57:38.467
He hit into them.

00:57:38.467 --> 00:57:38.769
What I mean?

00:57:38.769 --> 00:57:39.693
That's stupid.

00:57:39.713 --> 00:57:40.317
Did he actually hit into the?

00:57:40.336 --> 00:57:40.438
group.

00:57:40.458 --> 00:57:44.583
He hit into them, right he says he didn't know because they were over the ridge and he wasn't told.

00:57:44.583 --> 00:57:49.550
But I don't know, man, I don't know.

00:57:51.625 --> 00:57:52.748
I don't know how to feel about it.

00:57:53.699 --> 00:57:54.885
I think it's a nothing burger.

00:57:55.320 --> 00:57:56.063
Hey, thanks for hanging.

00:57:56.063 --> 00:57:56.847
Brian, appreciate it.

00:57:56.847 --> 00:58:00.702
I would have loved to see one of the guys go.

00:58:00.702 --> 00:58:01.726
Hey, cooch, thanks.

00:58:01.726 --> 00:58:06.846
I'm missing my kids first day of school because of you yeah, but that's that's.

00:58:06.885 --> 00:58:07.907
My thing is he didn't.

00:58:07.907 --> 00:58:12.782
He didn't really impact the outcome and he didn't impact the.

00:58:12.782 --> 00:58:15.166
He didn't impact really much at all really.

00:58:15.467 --> 00:58:16.530
It was just his paycheck.

00:58:16.530 --> 00:58:20.748
Yeah, yeah I mean he was out of the FedEx Cup.

00:58:20.748 --> 00:58:25.123
Somebody was diving into it Like had he made birdie.

00:58:25.123 --> 00:58:26.548
He may have knocked somebody out.

00:58:27.221 --> 00:58:28.963
It was like 50 grand or something.

00:58:29.425 --> 00:58:31.449
It was 100 grand For him.

00:58:31.449 --> 00:58:32.731
Yeah, it was 100 grand.

00:58:32.731 --> 00:58:35.885
I mean that's a lot of money, but does Matt Kuchar need 100 grand?

00:58:35.885 --> 00:58:37.775
I mean that's a lot of money, but does Matt Kuchar need a hundred grand?

00:58:38.900 --> 00:58:43.411
I mean he does, but he could have just walked off on 13 and just call it quits.

00:58:43.411 --> 00:58:46.425
I mean, at least he stuck around and stayed out there.

00:58:51.494 --> 00:58:57.146
Yeah, I lost all respect for that dude this tournament.

00:58:57.347 --> 00:59:04.369
Yeah, he kind of Matthew Kuchinyat, kuchinyat, he kind of has.

00:59:04.369 --> 00:59:09.306
Oh my god, how about that lady at the comfort inn?

00:59:10.364 --> 00:59:11.523
Wow, wait, wait, wait.

00:59:13.483 --> 00:59:15.409
I had laughed that hard.

00:59:15.409 --> 00:59:20.766
Oh my God, she I mean she added like five.

00:59:20.766 --> 00:59:22.385
My last name has a lot of syllables.

00:59:23.047 --> 00:59:25.170
Yeah, she added like five.

00:59:25.614 --> 00:59:31.605
Hell yeah, and and was proud was proud and you guys were laughing so hard and she thought she nailed it.

00:59:33.108 --> 00:59:37.284
And I, I man, I wish we could go back.

00:59:37.739 --> 00:59:43.367
I wish we could go back I would have loved to get that on tape, holy didn't she fuck up somebody else's name too?

00:59:43.367 --> 00:59:45.893
I don't know who else she could have done.

00:59:45.893 --> 00:59:49.384
Everybody else was west martin keith.

00:59:49.384 --> 00:59:51.846
It's not like, didn't she?

00:59:51.865 --> 01:00:00.235
call me like hojas or something like that I think so, dan Ho she called you Dan Ho, dan Hojas Hojas.

01:00:04.579 --> 01:00:08.382
We did have the whitest names ever with Jackson Martin, keith Sanders.

01:00:09.306 --> 01:00:09.706
West.

01:00:12.251 --> 01:00:13.744
She saw my name and went oh.

01:00:15.260 --> 01:00:15.802
This guy's.

01:00:15.882 --> 01:00:16.987
Filipino Wagon Ratchet.

01:00:17.148 --> 01:00:19.418
Wong and Raggin Chitten Hyman my name and went oh, this guy's Filipino Wagon.

01:00:19.438 --> 01:00:22.168
Ratchet Wong and Raggin Chitten Hyman.

01:00:22.539 --> 01:00:24.047
Matthew Wagon Ratchet.

01:00:25.244 --> 01:00:26.228
I thought she nailed it.

01:00:26.228 --> 01:00:27.525
Man, I thought she nailed it.

01:00:28.101 --> 01:00:32.690
She nailed it the FedExCup playoffs start this week.

01:00:32.690 --> 01:00:35.344
Is this one the?

01:00:38.646 --> 01:00:39.088
BMW this week.

01:00:39.088 --> 01:00:39.728
I think it's BMW.

01:00:39.809 --> 01:00:45.590
It's the one in memphis, I think it's the memphis one, and then the bmw is in colorado, right, well saint jude or something.

01:00:46.311 --> 01:00:49.682
Yeah, that's what it is for the kids, for the kids.

01:00:50.784 --> 01:00:53.007
Um, so top 70 made it this year.

01:00:53.007 --> 01:00:57.853
Um, oh, I've got the standings for the cdp versus the world.

01:00:57.853 --> 01:01:01.804
Um, I've kind of fallen off, fallen off the table here.

01:01:01.804 --> 01:01:09.192
Um, I missed a week and then last week I only had one guy make the cut out of all of my picks so I could show a mad in there.

01:01:09.192 --> 01:01:10.215
Yeah, we're there.

01:01:10.215 --> 01:01:11.360
We're a little bit behind.

01:01:11.360 --> 01:01:17.083
We were, we were up there for a while, but uh, it pretty much stops right there because nobody's done it in a while.

01:01:17.224 --> 01:01:24.583
So I haven't done it in months, yeah, so hey, you could, you could move up a couple spots, if you, if you participate in these, at least about last.

01:01:25.264 --> 01:01:36.527
Yeah, jeremy's not jeremy's not last either shit I think I think next year we may have to have an entry fee for this to keep everybody yeah yeah we'll work out on that.

01:01:36.527 --> 01:01:39.271
Uh, oh yeah, he's in him out.

01:01:39.271 --> 01:01:40.532
Uh, let's see.

01:01:40.532 --> 01:01:46.043
Uh, the euro, the euro.

01:01:46.043 --> 01:01:49.951
Uh, team rider cup said no to live golf points.

01:01:49.951 --> 01:01:51.954
Um will not.

01:01:53.242 --> 01:01:56.666
Oh, meatloaf, well I had meatloaf three times there, Jeremy.

01:01:56.666 --> 01:01:58.530
Yeah, I was going to say Jeremy had it three times.

01:01:58.530 --> 01:01:59.271
It was incredible.

01:01:59.532 --> 01:01:59.952
Each time.

01:01:59.952 --> 01:02:03.784
It was so good, I want more.

01:02:06.481 --> 01:02:07.326
Three times.

01:02:07.326 --> 01:02:13.152
We had a plethora of foodies on this trip.

01:02:13.152 --> 01:02:17.885
We had some good experiences, we had some bad experiences.

01:02:17.885 --> 01:02:20.302
Um had some great experiences.

01:02:20.302 --> 01:02:28.048
Uh, that hey, the biscuits and gravy from band and coffee was amazing yep wow that was a good call going there, joe, that was fantastic.

01:02:28.048 --> 01:02:31.099
Um, the mocha was probably the best one I had there too.

01:02:31.099 --> 01:02:34.547
Something about seattle area and southwest they don't do mocha's very good.

01:02:34.547 --> 01:02:48.606
But the pizza from the main place at Bannon the lodge amazing Chicken parm sandwiches didn't get greatest reviews.

01:02:49.179 --> 01:02:50.425
A little too crunchy, I think.

01:02:52.304 --> 01:03:02.402
Steven had the pulled pork sandwich at Charlotte's at the practice facility said it was, yeah, just absolutely fantastic.

01:03:02.402 --> 01:03:04.548
No mark.

01:03:04.548 --> 01:03:06.954
Mark wants to know, jeremy, what exceeded expectations.

01:03:06.954 --> 01:03:15.112
More the golf of the meatloaf the meatloaf was spectacular there was a loaf argument the first night we were there.

01:03:15.112 --> 01:03:18.242
Do you remember that, or were you?

01:03:18.242 --> 01:03:19.407
Guys too hammered to remember that.

01:03:20.380 --> 01:03:22.748
I do not remember at all, oh yeah.

01:03:23.240 --> 01:03:24.123
A guy in his group.

01:03:24.123 --> 01:03:28.809
Some guy was saying the meatloaf is the best thing and this one guy goes it's meat and a loaf.

01:03:28.809 --> 01:03:30.847
What else is a fucking loaf?

01:03:30.847 --> 01:03:31.663
What is a?

01:03:31.864 --> 01:03:32.164
loaf.

01:03:32.164 --> 01:03:33.806
He just kept on saying that.

01:03:34.179 --> 01:03:35.505
Because there's no good loaves.

01:03:39.079 --> 01:03:39.963
And I go lemon loaf, and he goes.

01:03:39.963 --> 01:03:41.266
Okay, there's one other good thing.

01:03:41.266 --> 01:03:42.170
I don't remember that either.

01:03:42.940 --> 01:03:46.789
Oh, yeah, I think they might have been out playing the night golf when that happened, matt.

01:03:46.789 --> 01:03:51.949
Oh, okay, that makes sense yeah because that was me and you and a couple guys around the fire.

01:03:52.331 --> 01:03:54.166
Yeah, oh, that was hilarious.

01:03:54.166 --> 01:03:59.063
And then I don't know, it was me and colby.

01:03:59.063 --> 01:04:16.992
I think we're coming back to the room one night and, uh, we had this guy in the in the shuttle that was getting dropped off oh dude was tossed wine drunk wine drunk like guys fucking teeth were stained.

01:04:17.052 --> 01:04:18.295
He was so fucking drunk off.

01:04:18.295 --> 01:04:24.768
Look like a fucking joker yeah, that was.

01:04:24.788 --> 01:04:29.599
That was funny this there was a guy that asked me like four times for a zen.

01:04:29.599 --> 01:04:30.621
I'm like I don't have any.

01:04:30.621 --> 01:04:41.090
He asked me four different times like you have a zen, I don't got no let me get a zen from you it's like I know somebody that has his in, but I don't see him so you can find jeremy's golf bag.

01:04:41.110 --> 01:04:50.934
He's got 12 cases one one thing that surprised me about vanden was there was a lot of uh like fancy golfers there with like foot joy premiere.

01:04:50.934 --> 01:04:55.327
Like the cap toe peter millar polos.

01:04:55.327 --> 01:04:56.429
It was surprising.

01:04:56.429 --> 01:05:00.164
I thought it was gonna be more chill, but there was a lot of those guys with like and their bag.

01:05:00.164 --> 01:05:01.507
The logos on the bags are.

01:05:01.548 --> 01:05:04.422
That's impressive yeah, yeah, there's some amazing ones.

01:05:04.943 --> 01:05:13.333
There's a lot of money floating around bandit yeah, joe was making friends with the monterey peninsula country club crowd out there yeah I was, man, I was.

01:05:13.393 --> 01:05:16.744
Yeah, these guys are something about steven alba.

01:05:17.166 --> 01:05:17.989
I was like get it.

01:05:17.989 --> 01:05:21.608
Joe Get it, joe yeah he did ask me.

01:05:21.780 --> 01:05:23.206
He's like do you want to take it worldwide?

01:05:23.206 --> 01:05:28.630
I was like sure, I know you're drunk and I know this won't go anywhere.

01:05:29.402 --> 01:05:30.447
They sponsor the podcast.

01:05:31.641 --> 01:05:33.545
I'm trying to get this in Sports Authority.

01:05:36.050 --> 01:05:36.652
You can do that.

01:05:36.652 --> 01:05:44.688
You just got to break down the the glass be the only thing in there no man, it's.

01:05:45.090 --> 01:05:50.061
I will say that I think the greatest lunch hack at bandon is the pokeball trails in.

01:05:50.061 --> 01:05:58.972
That thing hits so hard, not filling, uh, or it is filling, it's light, it's refreshing, it is.

01:05:58.972 --> 01:06:01.175
It's the ultimate lunch hack.

01:06:01.175 --> 01:06:02.784
Abandoned is the poke bowl.

01:06:02.824 --> 01:06:10.922
It trails in I before golf is fantastic yeah I, I would eat that every day I had the pizza a couple times.

01:06:11.523 --> 01:06:12.244
I had the meatloaf.

01:06:12.244 --> 01:06:16.170
One time I had a burger at Pac Dunes.

01:06:16.170 --> 01:06:22.070
That was way too much burger.

01:06:22.070 --> 01:06:25.027
It just soaked the bun.

01:06:25.027 --> 01:06:26.606
The bun just disappeared.

01:06:26.606 --> 01:06:29.199
That wasn't the greatest.

01:06:29.981 --> 01:06:31.608
My favorite meal was the Old Fashions.

01:06:31.608 --> 01:06:32.409
Those were good.

01:06:33.784 --> 01:06:34.567
Those were very nice.

01:06:36.525 --> 01:06:37.949
They hit a little bit better out there.

01:06:38.860 --> 01:06:41.628
Jeremy liked the old fashions at the Eugene Airport.

01:06:41.628 --> 01:06:42.710
Yes, I did.

01:06:44.681 --> 01:06:45.644
I thought they were shots.

01:06:45.644 --> 01:06:46.489
That was the problem.

01:06:51.001 --> 01:06:56.532
I will never forget Jeremy playing night golf at Band and OG he was just like.

01:06:56.833 --> 01:06:57.795
I think Jeremy forgot.

01:06:58.400 --> 01:06:59.443
Are we having fun?

01:06:59.443 --> 01:07:00.347
Let's have fun.

01:07:02.021 --> 01:07:04.166
That was like an out-of-body experience.

01:07:04.166 --> 01:07:07.568
The whole time I felt like I was following my body around the golf course.

01:07:07.568 --> 01:07:13.244
It took me until the last hole to realize who we were with.

01:07:13.244 --> 01:07:16.467
I knew Joe was there, but I had no idea who else was there.

01:07:17.342 --> 01:07:17.945
I was just hitting.

01:07:17.965 --> 01:07:23.286
I kept asking Before you guys went out there, joe, I think you were running around.

01:07:23.286 --> 01:07:25.141
Jeremy comes up to me.

01:07:25.141 --> 01:07:26.668
He goes do you want another beer?

01:07:26.668 --> 01:07:27.300
He goes.

01:07:27.300 --> 01:07:29.726
I've already had like four of them.

01:07:29.726 --> 01:07:32.192
He goes I'm getting hammered.

01:07:32.192 --> 01:07:34.961
He goes I'm getting hammered.

01:07:34.981 --> 01:07:35.963
Do you want another beer?

01:07:36.324 --> 01:07:38.007
I was like, yeah, let's get another beer, Jay.

01:07:38.007 --> 01:07:44.496
And then he goes, and then he orders a burger, right, and he walks out to the first dude to watch you guys, and then he's like, are you going to play?

01:07:44.496 --> 01:07:46.592
And he goes yeah, I'm in.

01:07:47.760 --> 01:07:49.989
He's like how am I going to play?

01:07:50.621 --> 01:07:52.748
Dude, I carried that burger around for like.

01:07:53.521 --> 01:07:55.405
I carried that burger around for three.

01:07:55.545 --> 01:07:56.728
I couldn't find it, that's right.

01:07:59.226 --> 01:08:00.539
All I want to do is eat my burger.

01:08:03.152 --> 01:08:07.869
I was I was almost positive I broke Stephen's driver when I hit it A couple times.

01:08:10.496 --> 01:08:11.099
I'm pretty sure.

01:08:11.099 --> 01:08:13.101
As we're walking over there, he said to me he goes.

01:08:13.101 --> 01:08:15.047
I don't want to do this.

01:08:15.047 --> 01:08:23.707
And then we're standing there and he's like I'm in, he's like okay I hit jp's two iron.

01:08:23.766 --> 01:08:26.733
I think off the first tee which felt like seriously.

01:08:26.733 --> 01:08:34.471
It felt longer than a driver it was that was an experience I was hitting everything four inches behind the ball.

01:08:36.376 --> 01:08:40.167
I could not see shit dude, I couldn't see anything.

01:08:40.167 --> 01:08:42.506
I couldn't see anything.

01:08:42.506 --> 01:08:45.509
It was so fucking dark, dude so dark.

01:08:46.340 --> 01:08:48.609
I thought my eyes were closed a few times.

01:08:48.609 --> 01:08:56.568
It was like I'm looking at the ball and I'm like there's nothing there and I just swing and I don't hit a damn thing.

01:09:02.579 --> 01:09:08.820
Wow, so much fun, all right so, uh, we're kind of done with bannon for a while um I'm sure some of you have been relieved about that.

01:09:08.881 --> 01:09:14.431
I'm already planning the next trip um, more, more trips in the future are coming.

01:09:14.431 --> 01:09:17.345
Uh, we had a blast with eight of us it was.

01:09:17.345 --> 01:09:19.150
It was a great group of guys.

01:09:19.150 --> 01:09:21.287
I wouldn't have rather done it with anybody else.

01:09:21.287 --> 01:09:22.605
It was so much fun.

01:09:22.605 --> 01:09:24.586
Looking forward to the next one.

01:09:24.586 --> 01:09:29.810
But real golf stories coming back now.

01:09:29.810 --> 01:09:40.484

01:09:40.484 --> 01:09:41.867

01:09:41.867 --> 01:09:44.092
Uh, you, at mid-am qualifying is going on.

01:09:44.092 --> 01:09:45.582
There's all kinds of stuff going on.

01:09:45.582 --> 01:09:48.268
So, um, lots to be talking about.

01:09:48.268 --> 01:09:50.431
Uh, more than just bandon.

01:09:50.452 --> 01:09:54.827
