Happy Monday Golfers;
I hope you are all starting to recover from that emotional rollercoaster that gave us memories for a lifetime! As we head into what marks the beginning of golf season for many I wanted to cover, ‘3 Apps To Improve Your Golf Game.’ If you are serious about getting better, then having an app that can track all your shots and give you statistics on how you compare to a million other players at any handicap is a vital tool. It will help break down your game into different skills such as driving, approach play, chipping, bunkers, and putting. It is a key tool to identifying your areas for development but also highlighting your strengths.

Stat Tracking Apps
Apps such as Arccos and Shot scope are great as they track the shots for you and provide good stats on the app. UpGame and Clippd are very good but require a lot of input, and may be more targeted to elite players. There are some free options but they don’t quite provide the detail that the subscription models do.
After collecting enough data these apps will also become your caddy where they know your yardages and can give club selection recommendations. The general rule for stats apps is the more information you submit the more feedback you will receive.

Feedback App
A lot of players still use a little notepad to add feedback from their play and practice which is great and can be kept in your golf bag. Using your phone for this can be effective also as you can easily share these notes with your coach which can help show patterns but also provide some real gold into where you could improve further. If your practice is measurable then it’s an effective way to monitor and track your progression through statistics.
Some of you may have a training space with your coach where your lesson notes are stored, and this can also be a great place to record your feels and your feedback. Skillest, Coach Now, and OnForm are the biggest players in this

Handicap App
If you are a member of a club you will probably use an app that is associated with the world handicapping system which will make your handicap up from your 8 best scores from 20 rounds. You can also track some of your stats on there and it shows averages for each hole on your course.
There are some great apps if you are not affiliated with a club. Having a handicap makes the game more fun and measurable, it gives you something to play to and sets targets on what handicap you would like to play off. It’s also great as you can play against anyone with any handicap and have a good game.
Golf Handicap and Tracker is a great free app for those who are not affiliated to a club or handicap system. Golf shake is another app to keep your own handicap progress.
In future posts we will dive into other apps that can improve your practice, your round planning and your mental skills!
